Dumervil left the game and didn't return b/c of a groin injury and we cut Babin???  Granted he sucks but we need the depth. So if Dumervil doesn't play that leaves; Orr, McClellan and Z. Smith as pass rushers?

Lol honestly as of the last loss I was open to any changes made to our team. I feel like since the season is over realistically all the young and unknown guys should see a lot of snaps to develop and see where they stand with us.

Cutting Babin is a joke. This is a pathetic attempt take your anger and fustration out and personify it on an expandable guy because your team sucks. The pathetic collapse in the 2nd half against the Browns isn't his fault. The season is done anyways, no need to shake up the roster.

 

He also looked good to me out there and he was great depth.

Babin caused two costly penalties in that game and honestly if he didn't do it may have put The Ravens in better position to win the game. To say his penalties didn't impact the game is crazy it's bad enough that he's technically new to team. If anything  a veteran player on a new team with a contract that's not even guaranteed should   play sound football as much as possible especially in rivalry game. 

 

Babin been in this league more than 5 years and he made serious rookie mistake.

When he was out there, I wouldn't say he was very effective. He was OK. I thought he was at least decent, but he made some bad penalties and perhaps we just didn't want the young guys to be around him and pick up on those type of penalties by watching him? 

 

I hope we take a look at Freeney. Or maybe make a trade for someone.

This is what came to my mind.

The problems on this defense existed long before babin got here, but they will cut him to make it look like they are being proactive without actually making any real changes. Just throw the rock, and hide the hand.

Sure he made dumb mistakes, but he is cheap depth at a position where we don't have any depth anymore. For as much as people like to blame injuries around here, you can't deny the team isn't doing themselves any favors in the pass rush department.

Hopefully they have some sort of contingency plan.

Not necessarily. You can always make moves, and we save some money by cutting Babin. I think we also save some by cutting Melvin since he wasn't a veteran. We can always free up more space as well, if it's desired.

Freeney was signed by the Cardinals today.  One guy I thought we would look at would be Steven Means.  I guess he was not at all what Ozzie and Harbaugh led us to believe this offseason

So... I know he sucked... but why do we cut Babin? We need depth there. I guess they really like McClellan as the fourth OLB. 

 

Because he's so bad he actually has a negative effect on the game rather than not having an effect at all, we probably win that game without his stupid penalties trying to pass rush. It's bad enough that his pass rushing ability looked non-existent... but to also commit crucial penalties in the midst of doing absolutely nothing? Here's your walking papers.
