UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

Here comes the shakeup... I'll admit I was wrong on Babin staying.

@Ravens: The Ravens have cut OLB Jason Babin and CB Rashaan Melvin.

So... I know he sucked... but why do we cut Babin? We need depth there. I guess they really like McClellan as the fourth OLB.

I had hoped they would release Babin, but didn't expect it this early. At least there's some movement in the FO. I also had a feelin we would be seeing Charles soon.

Sorry but Babin was literally a babbling idiot... dude couldn't even line up properly. Considering it took him so long to get into the line up when all he had to do is learn how to line up and rush the passer. After all of that prep work he still couldn't do it right lol

Or they really disliked Babin lol. Seems those penalties did him in.

I don't get the cutting Melvin move.  I think he played in 6 games total, 4 decent and 2 bad games. They obviously thought he was better than Asa b/c he was on the active squad while Asa was cut and then brought back to the PS.  I would have thought they would have given Melvin another chance to redeem himself after Will Davis went down.  head scratcher.

Going into the San Fran game with only 3 and a half OLBs worries me. We're gonna have to bring up another OLB eventually

Reminds me of when Michael Huff blew a ST assignment against Pittsburgh and, afterward, Harbaugh said it was inexcusable. He was cut the next week. Babin's penalties were stupid and cost us. His contract wasn't guaranteed, easy cut.

I am assuming Melvin will be on the practice squad if no one else picks him up.  He struggled badly against Cincy so hopefully no one picks him up

He might be going back to PS if he clears waivers, don't know.

Doesn't solve the pass rush issue, but there were times on Sunday where we used Orr on the field I addition to Smith and Mosley. We might be trying to be a little more creative.

Edit: thanks for merging threads. Glad to see a shake up in the secondary, and I'm anxious to see how James plays.

This seems like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

You just answered your own question.

As far as Babin goes, he seemed to at least command double teams and was able to walk his guy back in 1 on 1, but I guess if you're on the cheap and you commit dumb penalties, you're gone

Good to see they brought Daniel brown back in. At this point I think anybody could put up more production than the other brown.im wondering how many more opportunities he gets before they finally kick him to the curb. I really thought he was going to shine this year too.

Glad we signed Daniel Brown. Worth developing. Would be great if he pans out for us. He's worth keeping an eye on.

Yeah, not really at all, thanks. I just speculated what could be an answer. And if that answer is more McClellan, I disagree with the FO.

Happy to see what Charles James can do on the squad and happy for Daniel Brown to get back on the PS....would love to see him  get the chance to move up.  He can't do any worse that Marlon has this year...that dude has slippery hands!
