Breaking Down the Rest of the Schedule

87 posts in this topic

Okay, I'm kinda surprised to see such a lack of confidence in our fanbase, but I guess I understand. We're 1-4, the Ravens have been a huge letdown, I get it, but 3-13? 4-12? 5-11? C'mon. I'm not saying we're gonna go on a 11 game winning streak (would be nice), but we're not gonna sit down and give up. Here's how I see it.

@49ers - W

@Cards - L

Vs Chargers - W

Bye

Vs Jags - W

Vs Rams - W

@Browns - W

@Dolphins- W

Vs Seahawks - L

Vs Chiefs - W

Vs Steelers - W

@Bengals - W/L depending on if starters are sitting.

That leaves us at 10-6, or 9-7. 10-6 gets a wild card, and there's a chance 9-7 may. It's not gonna be pretty, but you never know.

I think predictions are impossible. Any team can have a good day or bad day.For some reason our Ravens play great against good teams and not so great against weak teams.

We wait all year for football, and it is really rough to be so disappointed.

Looks like a long season.

It could get ugly...we could be looking at 5-11 or 6-10 but here's the good news....

We beat the Steelers.

It's insane that we have had a chance at winning every game at the end with the way we've played. However, that is the case. I can't really see us playing much worse, so that means we will likely have a chance to win most of our games down the stretch, too. Obviously, if we don't play worse, there is still a chance that we actually play better, especially with a possible health improvement. Having said all that, I stated before the season that I wanted to wait and see our record at the bye. I still think that's the proper time to give educated predictions given our schedule and new pieces/systems.

Were you drinking grape koolaid when you wrote this? We have lost 4 games already, suddenly we are only losing 2 more and that's it? Unrealistic

2-4 more in my honest opinion. I believe we gain momentum from a well timed bye week.

im not comparing perriman to ODBjr whatsoever simply because theres no comparison, but this season may pan out very similar to the giants 2014 season. absolute atrocious play on both sides of the ball until about week 13 or 14, then start running the table with the 3 home games due to perriman returning healthy with couple weeks of adjusting under his belt after the bye.

yes the ravens are a bad team, but we stayed competitive in every game so far and it has A LOT to do with our players having heart and persistence (joe has been joe cool to the max every game i must add), but simply lack that spark from playmakers that will put us pass the burden. once we get an offensive playmaker on the field and get some deep balls downfield and stretch defenses, we'll finally start pulling off some promising wins.. but unfortunately too late in the season. atleast it'll build confidence going into the offseason, making the draft and free agency a tad more more exciting for fans and the organization.

overall record prediction:  6-10

damn 3 game losing streak at the bank?? thats brutal man

it would be pretty cool if we pulled a major upset by knocking a team out of the playoff hunt this year. one of those home games could very well do it. chiefs will probably be out of the hunt anyway after losing jamaal charles, but seahawks and steelers will definitely be in the mix for the wild card late in the season. would be great to put the dagger in the heart of both teams, specifically the steelers.

optimism is cool and all, but i dont see it. the way we give up the deep ball makes us pretty much unable to compete, weve seen it for 2 years now and i guess the blueprint is just out now and teams spread us out and throw it 50 times with ease, why even attempt to run on us? i think we'll squeeze in a few more wins but the way our secondary is playing i literally dont see us finishing better than 4-12, i dont see how it would be possible. i even think the jags are gonna light us up if their wrs are healthy

we absolutely could play worse. our run defense could stop performing, our offense could stop having random bursts of production and just look like we did against the texans last year, and all it would take is another injury.

8 of our next 9 are against teams currently below .500. We haven't played well, but we don't have to be the Patriots to string some wins together with our schedule.

We don't have a good defense and we don't have a QB or any other impact player that can win games like a Wilson, Rodgers or Brady.

Okay. I will jump in as well.

Week 6- @49ers W  We wont stop them from scoring, but we can keep up.

Week 7- @Cardinals-  Some games this season just arent gonna happen.

Week 8- Home Vs Chargers-  W with wild card implications, the Ravens play wide open, full throttle.

Week 9-  BYE week Quite possibly the best week of the season.  We really crush it.

Week 10- Home Vs Jaguars- the ship is righting.

Week 11- Home Vs Rams ship is setting its sails.

Week 12- @Browns- they will NOT sweep us.  No way.

Week 13- @Dolphins- L got cocky on a winning streak.

Week 14- Home Vs Seahawks- Some games just go your way.

Week 15- Home Vs Chiefs- I really dont know a thing about them this season so that makes it a W

Week 16- Home Vs Steelers- three point or less margin.

Week 17- @Bengals- with the division well wrapped up, they coast into the playoffs.

9-7.  Winning season.

Yaaaaaay us.
( and then these boards burn to the ground..... )

Rodgers and Brady sure, Wilson is not on that tier. I like the guy but he has had Beast Mode and the Legion of Boom, when he was asked to win the game, he threw an Int on the 1 yard line.

^^^ yup. the reason they are 2-3 is because kam chancellor didn't play the first 2 weeks and beast mode has been injured. wilson is not elite when the game is on his shoulders. people need to understand scenarios before they just throw names out there.

Wilson's more than capable of winning game. He's currently playing behind the worst O-line in NFL history it seems and he's not doing too bad. Wilson's gonna be great when he's not the only good player on his offense.

alright let's try this one more time. The season is basically riding on these next 2 games- if we can somehow manage to pull both of them out, there just may actually be a glimmer of hope. And I think if anybody can turn a team around that's off to this dreadful Of a start- it's harbaugh. We're not dead yet. I realize this team has really given us no reason to believe they can right the ship- so I admit I'm mostly just taking a leap of faith here...and I'm fully prepared to be let down.

Week 6- @49ers WIN

Our defense finally starts creating some turnovers. Will hill has a big game and even Kendrick gets involved. Crockett comes back with a big game, and forsett ends up playing and scoring twice.

Week 7- @Cardinals- WIN

Everybody expects us to crumble, but we do the exact opposite. We get off to an early lead thanks to none other than Steve smith senior and play smart football throughout the game. The cardinals keep it interesting, but ASA JACKSON busts open a kick return for a td to put them away with 5:00 left. Yes, Asa Jackson. You can start to feel the positivity in Ravens nation - the fans are buzzing and you can start to see a small glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel, although many dismiss it and claim it's too good to be true.

Week 8- Home Vs Chargers- HUGE game. a loss here will kill the small amount of momentum that they have created over the past 2 weeks, and the players know they have to have this one if the season can truly be salvaged. A win here would create something known as a " winning streak" ( major league)

However we start off completely dead and the first half ends in disappointment. All the pessimists come out saying here we go. We dig ourselves into a 17-6 hole, but we start clawing away with 2 50+ yard feild goals by tucker In the 3rd quarter. Down by 5 late in the 4th, rookie buck Allen finds the end zone off of a toss due to a huge block by Crockett. With 3:00 to go, rivers takes the feild. The images of last year are replayin in the fans heads, and just when we think there's no way he can do it again, he hits Antonio gates for a 43 yard td. Rivers is going crazy and all of mnt bank is dead silent. Once again it looks like our season is lost. At that moment the camera pans over to joe jogging onto the feild calm as can be. There's still 34 seconds left and we have 2 timeouts. He hits Crockett right off the bat for 19 yards and take a quick timeout. Down to 26 seconds. Trestman dials up a doozy and on a crossing route , MARLON BROWN gets help from a pick by SSS, the defender falls down and brown takes it all the way. Yes marlon brown. The bank goes nuts. Brown finally comes through at the ideal moment and this is looked at as the official turning point. All thanks to a crucial pick by Steve that sprung brown wide open. We head into our bye week steaming with momentum, not only our we back to .500 , but we are about to get some of our players back from injury. WIN

Week 9- BYE week - couldn't come at a better time. We have finally found our identity, and there is nothing but positivity around the castle.

Week 10- Home Vs Jaguars- WIN

Perriman sighting? Pitta sighting? No way do two of our top players return on the same day? Yep. And Perriman shows everybody that he was well worth the wait with two tds - making all the doubters immediately realize they were dead wrong. Pitta is eased in very slowly, he doesn't do anything spectacular - but his mere presence gives our offense an incredible boost and we blow the Jaguars away.

Week 11- Home Vs Rams WIN - another home game- and after the show the offense put on the week before the crowd wants more. But this time it's the defense. Webb comes up with an interception and forces a fumble. The ground game is dominating and even the rookie mostert finds the end zone. The Rams hang around with feild goals but they are so focused on the run game flacco hits givens deep to put them away, giving his old team the middle finger.

Week 12- @Browns- WIN - payback time. They beat us at home but not this time, we are a completely different team now. We come out firing on all cylinders and get off to a huge lead, this time we just keep scoring. Pitta catches two touchdowns and let's everybody know he is back and he's 100% - this team is now on a rampage and is on a mission.

Week 13- @Dolphins- WIN- our vacation to Miami - at this point the Dolphins are falling apart and they caught us at the absolute worst time. We sack tannehill 6 times and force him into some bad decisions. Jimmy smith has another pick 6- and we stroll back into Baltimore to face a tough opponent.

Week 14- Home Vs Seahawks- the winning streak surely has to end here. No way we can keep this up. After 3 slow quarters of strong defense from both teams, the game finally opens up. Both teams start shooting it out, and you get a sense that whoever has the ball last is going to win. The Seahawks kick a 54 yard feild goal to take the lead with a minute left. The score is 16-14.. With the drive about to stall out and with no timeouts, Aiken comes up with another huge catch and manages to get out of bounds. We send out our go to guy with the game on the line, and as time expires , tucker 1-ups seattles 54 yarder with a 61 yard game winning boot. 17-16 WIN

Week 15- Home Vs Chiefs- after beating Seattle we get a little cocky. Joe throws a couple picks and Marcus peters takes one to the house. We try to fight back but Kansas city's defense puts the clamp down. We had to lose sooner or later right? LOSS

Week 16- Home Vs Steelers- Big Ben is back, and we barely beat them with Vick. We're also coming off a loss at home. Everybody assumes Ben is going to tear us apart- but just like typical Ravens steelers football, we get to him often and keep him on his back. 4 4th quarter sacks keep us in it- and Perriman comes up huge with the go ahead td. Brent urban bats down a 4th down attempt to Leveon bell to seal the victory. WIN

Week 17- @Bengals- LOSS - once again- we just cannot find a way to beat the bengals. We hang around but just can't catch up. But in the end it doesn't really matter- the bengals already have the division wrapped up and we already have the 5th wild card spot, both teams rested most of their starters- and we take comfort in the fact that we may be able to personally knock them out of the playoffs and get the perfect revenge.

In the end we Somehow manage to turn a horrific start Into another winning season- and how far we go in the playoffs will depend on how healthy we are. 10-6

Of course I know all of this is pointless and it's dumb to predict the outcome of games- let alone the actual details within them. But screw it, it's fun to dream. And anything is possible. Stranger things have happened. Hanging on to a thread of faith.

Liked this. Even 9-7 may get us there. If we could manage to win at least 8 more games (something we've averaged for years) I think we're good. Keep the faith. Why not? That never hurts until it's mathematically impossible.

Going on a run would be cool and all, but I'm really hoping we don't go 7-9 and get the worst of both worlds: a losing record and a late draft pick.

I'm not sure an easy schedule really means anything when you, yourself, are perceived as an easy win. I don't doubt that teams like the Cardinals are looking at us as an easy win, just as some of us are looking at losing teams as an easy win for whatever reason. We aren't better than those bad teams on our schedule--we're one of them.

I still don't think anyone looks at the Ravens as an easy win. All of our games have came down to the last drive. Including against undefeated teams like the Broncos and bengals. No team has just flat out beaten us. Plus obviously any team can lose on any given Sunday.

Thing is, Wilson is still consistently good to great with an awful offense.

2-3 this year, not a single 300 yard passing game, but on the level of Brady and Rodgers who can carry a team on their back. Okay
