Breaking Down the Rest of the Schedule

87 posts in this topic

I'm still kind of numb after that loss as I expect most of us probably are as well. We lost to the damn Browns? At home?!? Blasphemy.

I suppose the only logical thing to do now is to look at the remaining schedule with an optimistic mindset, factor in when our injured guys may return and try and bring out the positives (if any at all) left in the season. There are plenty of winnable games left on schedule and if we can get healthy and somehow start playing with the aggression and tenacity we all know and love on defense we could certainly give the top dogs a good fight too.

Week 6- @49ers Prediction- W

Week 7- @Cardinals- L

Week 8- Home Vs Chargers- L

Week 9- Much needed BYE week

Week 10- Home Vs Jaguars- W

Week 11- Home Vs Rams- W

Week 12- @Browns- W

Week 13- @Dolphins- W

Week 14- Home Vs Seahawks- W

Week 15- Home Vs Chiefs- W

Week 16- Home Vs Steelers- W

Week 17- @Bengals- L

...(Could see us winning this one if cincy benches Dalton if they clinch).

Bengals will win the north, Ravens will fight for a wildcard spot and probably won't get in, (not sure if any team in history made playoffs after a 1-4 start).

But looking at the schedule I see a potential 8-10 wins out there if we can get healthy, practice 100x harder and start playing like a normal Ravens team does.

I still give us a fighters chance against the big dogs left on our schedule- Cardinals, Chargers, Seahawks, Bengals Steelers etc. And if we can win the easy ones we could make some magic happen.

I see Breshad Perriman coming back sometime after our week 9 Bye, maybe for the Jags or Rams game. And I also still have hope for Dennis Pitta returning, alot of people are writing him off but I see him giving it one last go. I feel like he would have retired already and not have gone through all of this rehab unless he truly thinks he can still make an impact and I could definitely see him returning as a redzone/3rd down target sometime this year.

And there's still 2 weeks left to make trades, although after a surprising 2 trades so far this year I doubt we suffer any more picks away, although I wouldn't be surprised to see one more because we could definitely use it.

And if for some reason we happen to tank the rest of the year...atleast we will have a top tier draft position.

Mock drafts gon be fun as hell

rams are no slouches though.

that defensive line is trouble and gurley seems to be a hit on offense.

jags are a trap game for us although we are already playing on their level.

chiefs can go either way.

alex smith is captain checkdown and those work pretty well  against our defense.

hawks no idea but ill give them the edge for now.

steelers doubt we win if ben is healthy.

I've got a feeling we pull out a victory in Arizona but I'm not even gonna look past San Fran at this point. One game at a time.

You know what? I like this thread. There is so much negativity going on around here, that this is a welcome change. I've been a Ravens fan for as long as I can remember and even though they are currently losing, I still love them. I love Ravens Nation. We can still win. Any. Given. Sunday. And if they don't? I'm not a bandwagon fan. I'll still support them and hope for the best next year.

That stye is optimistic I see us anywhere between 3-13 and 5-11. I wish I could share your optimism, but I think playing like a normal Ravens team is out of the question. The fact of the matter is, in the real heart of the issue, is that we are not a normal Ravens team.

I like the fact that we have a lot of young pieces and skill positions, and we have pieces that we are able to build on and capitalize later in the draft. I do think that this team is young and continuity will build as well the cohesion of all of the skill positions and the line position. I just leave right now between coaching and the ravaging of our roster by injuries has put us in a position that we are not accustomed to.

I think this offseason will be the off season that we have needed for the last two or three years where we clean house and start over. Not necessarily over from selling are complete roster having a complete and total fire sale I think of you key pieces will remain intact. I think John Harbaugh, Ozzie Newsome, and almost all of our position coaches sans Hewitt are going to stay around to coach the young players that we have. I do see faces like Dean pees leaving, Chris Canty leaving, possibly Daryl Smith but unlikely as he is still one of our best defenders.

I just think that we are not as good of a team this year I think we are one of the lesser teams in the league in comparison. I think we have just gotten so used to a culture of winning that we are not willing to accept that we are not on the same level as teams we used to be able to be 2 or 3 years ago. I think the Chargers, Rams, Chiefs, Bengals, Steelers, Seahawks, dolphins, Cardinals are all losses. The Jaguars has trap game written all over it because bortles is playing well, Yeldon is coming on, and that defense is hit or miss one game they played a great won one game day lay an egg and give up 38 to Tampa Bay. I think depending on that defense that could be a loss as well.

All it may take is one big play, one guy to make a game changing type play and our team's confidence and season could turn around.  I would not lose any hope until we are mathematically out of the playoff race.  Ross, James, Jackson and Wright are all desperate for a chance to prove themselves, maybe they will all play well and help turn this around

I feel you...it's hard for me to envision us going anywhere north of 9-7 in what would take a lot of winning at this point against some strong teams. Still I see us finishing with 7-10 wins fighting it out to the end.

LOL, DON'T make me revive the Five in a Row THREAD! You can forget that idea of winning 7 in a row.. This team might not even have 7 wins for the season!

I don't think we lose to the Browns twice in a season, but anything can happen.  If Perriman, Pitta and Urban can all come back after the bye week I think we have a good shot at 8-8 or 9-7.  Urban's pass rush ability alone will help this defense out a lot

Well we did just lose to them at home and they usually play us tougher there than here. Don't think we know how to finish games anymore and that is another game we could lose at the end.

I am still a believer that we will get this team turned around that they finish he season and are respectable.  The offense will benefit getting SSS and Gilmore back soon and hopefully Perriman and Pitta later on.  The defense has some fresh bodies at cornerback and hopefully Urban is able to add to our pass rush.  Some way or another the defense will step up, atleast I hope they do

Urban isn't somgle handedly turning a defense that gave up 450 passing yards to the Browns around. Asa has been terrible for us in the past and us bringing those guys up is just how desperate we have become in the secondary.

I'd be shocked if Pitta played another down for us to be frank

As soon as Perriman returns, he will start. Marlon Brown has been that bad.

San Diego and Arizona are games I just see us losing. Especially Arizona, high powered offense and this is our worst defense in franchise history.

I can't see the Ravens winning against the Rams. Their defense is good enough to even stop the Cardinals, let alone the Ravens. And if McCown can throw for four hundred against the Ravens' defense then Foles can too.

There isn't a single game left this season that I can confidently say the Ravens are likely to win. The Jags aren't good, but Bortles and Hurns are starting to get some real chemistry and are doing well. They could rip the Ravens' defense. I don't fully trust the Ravens to stop Jarvis Landry of the Dolphins. And it wouldn't shock me of Torry Smith plays well.

Week 6- @49ers Prediction- L Torrey and Boldin are going to wreak havoc on our secondary. The only way we win is if one of our receivers steps up.

Week 7- @Cardinals- L Same story just even better receivers.

Week 8- Home Vs Chargers- L Philip Rivers gave us fits when we had a good defense.

Week 9- Much needed BYE week

Week 10- Home Vs Jaguars- L Hurns and Robinson are looking really good despite being on the jags.

Week 11- Home Vs Rams- L

Week 12- @Browns- W maybe

Week 13- @Dolphins- L

Week 14- Home Vs Seahawks- W the only team with worse receivers than us.

Week 15- Home Vs Chiefs- L

Week 16- Home Vs Steelers- L this is going to be sooo ugly. I don't even know if I want to watch. Big Ben back, and in the playoff hunt

Week 17- @Bengals- W thanks Marvin Lewis for sitting AJ Green.

4-11

If our secondary can get their heads out of their butts and if pees can remember to add a gameplan to stop the pass we might have a shot at a run.

I know it doesn't make sense, but I think Seattle is a favorable matchup for us. Their receivers aren't dangerous at all. We still have a good run D so that's my reasoning. Just my opinion, which means nothing b.c I've been wrong a lot lately.

This is what people are missing.   We are going to get better.  Add to that SSS and Gilmore coming back.  SSS, Gilmore, Pitta, Urban.  We may not be able to stop our opponents from scoring, but we most certainly will be able to keep the scoring up.  Ross seems to be a spark on special teams. Givins certainly has potential.

@San Fran: Kaepernick torches our secondary. No Forsett L

@Arizona: Palmer torches out secondary L

San Diego: Rivers burns our secondary L

Jacksonville: Bortles combines with Robinson and Hurns to scorch our secondary- L

St. Louis: Monster Defensive front annihilates our O Line. No time to throw- L

@Cleveland: We make McCown look like Mark Rypien the year he won the Super Bowl. Hope we don't give up 500yds again- L

@ Dolphins: I'll give this one to us W

Seattle: Do I even have to comment? L here

Kansas City: Smith and Maclin use antigravity device to get mega separation from our DBs- L

Pittsburgh: Ben has his way with us....not in a nightclub restroom way though. L

@ Cincinnati: Probably have division locked up so we can win this W

3-13 for the final record being realistic here.

That's why I expect us to get better as the season goes on. Sure we may not make the playoffs, but at least we can avoid an embarrassing season.

There's no way that we sweep Pittsburgh. They have Bell now and will have Big Ben by then too. They'll likely blow us out. I have seen Ravens teams that sweep Pittsburgh and usually those are damn good Ravens teams that do.

I don't know what can make anyone believe we'll win seven in a row when McCown just threw for nearly 500 yards on us.

Week 6- @49ers - W

Week 14- Home Vs Seahawks- L

Week 17- @Bengals- L

3-13, hopefully #1 overall draft pick
