[News] Reports: Ravens Sign CB Shareece Wright

Great. Him and Elam will put a scare in the secondary for opposing qbs. Had enough of us going after other teams garbage. (I know we have injuries that's why we signed him) but when we are losing stud players to free agency we go out each year and sign tier 4 free agents. That's why we are at 1-4 Draft comes and we always trade back for more picks which hasn't worked. For years the fans have been yelling for a stud receiver to help Joe and nothing is done when you did get him help he won the Super Bowl then gave everybody away and hoped M.Brown would be the answer? love sss but he is retiring teams don't fear our wrs they laugh, blitz constantly knowing they can. Get Joe some serious help and stop trying to give him other teams cut players and hope it will work.

Brandon Fletcher & Taylor Mays were also available.

Sarcasm? Not fletcher from the Eagles. He and Mays are actually WORSE in coverage than anyone we have on roster now, and that's saying a lot!

How many years is Wright a Veteran? I'm not sure, but the 'Next Man Up' philosophy is being re-defined right now, here in Baltimore. Has anyone else in the league had that many injuries? We've got about 10 guys on the Injured Reserved List and you wonder why players run out of bounds at the end of plays instead of pounding it into the defense for an extra few yards or break a few tackles and get more yards that way. It's not worth it and Forsett could have avoided contact on his last run, I noticed, but I was hoping he'd run over someone; of course, he ended up leaving with a bad ankle...Back in the late 70's early 80's RB's like Earl Campbell would never have taken the sideline route to avoid a hit. They wanted to punish the defender and maybe break one for a score. Times have changed...

By compete you mean start because he's definitely an upgrade with the way Arrington and Walker have played. I live in San Diego and I remember being pretty good for the chargers. May not have the ints, but he was solid. Don't know why he didn't see the field for the 49ers though

Maybe now well be able to grab Hargreaves or Ramsey in the draft. The ways things are going we may even get robert nkemdiche or Jordan jenkins

Trade Joe Flacco now and rebuild the defense. This season is over; perhaps Dallas or Denver might be willing to give up a few of their defenders? Wholesale personnel changes are needed for the Ravens to be NFL competitive - including significant management changes.

Yeah that makes sense trade the best Qb we ever had to rebuild the defense. then we are just the opposite, we have defense and no offense. dumbest comment i read today!!

Once we put arrington in I knew the game was over he has to be the worst corner ever, literally a waste of a roster spot, Our team is soft, they get touched ops sprained this broken that. Bunch of fragile nursing home players on this team I'm disgusted

OK, so now let's wake up to reality...  Flacco might not be Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers but he's far better than most QBs out there.  Plus he's an absolute ox. He NEVER gets hurt!

BTW, if you think Flacco isn't any good, just imagine what this offense would look like with Matt Schaub in his place.  I cringe everytime I think about it.

Wright will compete with Arrington? If he can stay within hailing distance of the WR he'll be in like flint!

I guess the goal for the rest of the year is keep opposing teams at an average of 29 points while Ravens average 30 pts a game. I am for any defensive player we get that does not let teams score more than 29 points a game. Welcome to Baltimore Shareece, hope things go well and if you get an interception or two, you'll be treated like a king. Good luck.

I'm all for reintroducing more fullback carries. Have you seen the hits Juice can deliver carrying the football? The two that I'm thinking of are special team carries, but nevertheless...

Joe Flacco just put up 30 pts with a UDFA, a career journeyman and a guy who has been on the team for 2 weeks. Now, step back, take a breather, and imagine what he could do (and could have done the last few years) if just once Ozzie had gotten him a Julio or just a step lower.

Read on article on BR focusing on players that could possibly be traded. Could we trade a 3rd or 4th rounder to get the likes of either Cameron wake, or sean smith? Smith seems a bit pricey, but wake doesn't appear to command top dollar at the moment

We are seeing some really off of the wall suggestions now. Trade Flacco. That is plain nuts. The reality is that we have been hit hard with injuries to the point that we have no depth at many positions, The next man up is getting hurt just as easily. Is it conditioning? Is it the fact that our backups really stink? It can't all be coaching that is for sure. We call for coaching changes, but they cannot correct the fact that we have so many guys claiming injury. Today players cry hurt way to fast as I see it. Some are truly injured, but the little aches and pains need to be managed better by the wimps that we have been picking up this season. They know who they are and they need to man up. As for the season, at this point it is over as far as post season is concerned. Just winning 8 games is going to be at tough task. I can almost see a 6-10 record right now. Don't like the thought, but I have to think realistically each week while seeing the team come apart in the second half. It is very hard to be optimistic anymore with what the team is encountering each week.

Man.........I feel bad for Asa Jackson. His play at CB was usually solid. Not always, but usually. He's no shut down corner, but he showed flashes of good coverage and was a solid tackler. And in spite of those fumbles, he would gives us a dangerous kick returner. Harbaugh and his same old doghouse issues get really old.

As much as I hate thinking about the playoffs fading slowly away from us, they probably are. On the other hand, the comment about trading Flacco, and allowing Shaub to QB makes me want to grab a six pack now, and 1 - 15 could possibly be in our sights. Keep Joe, play the remainder of the year with the personnel we have, don't trade draft picks for rentals, but see if we could possibly trade for draft picks. I seriously doubt that Suggs will be here next year, so see what you can get for him now, even though he is injured there may be a team desperate enough to do it for their future. Start the rebuilding now, see what kind of players we have on the practice squad, if they don't pan out trade them for draft picks.

We are Losing/Wining? Games for the 2016 Draft..

I would not count on that to fix the issues. It takes three years for most of these guys to get up to speed.

With a name like Shareece, you know he's gotta be tough. There's a Jay-Z Johnny Cash remake song of "A Boy Named Sue" on the horizon.

What did we give away for a "Replacement player" this time?

This guy can't be any good if he's available in October.

Before we start picking up more cast offs, they should really try a fan day tryout.

Most of us even have our own jerseys.

As far as all these injuries, when you play balls out, you tend not to get hurt as often! It's when you play to NOT get hurt, things happen.

Put me in coach! They'll kill me in just a couple plays but MAN, I'd do it and have a huge smile on my unconscious face as they carted me off the field and after my nap, I'd be back out there to do it again!!

We're only playing for pride now and I have enough to carry the team for a while and maybe it will spread around the locker room!

We need something to shake this team up!

This team is in for a long, hard rebuilding phase that will take years to accomplish. Fans might as well get used to this. Also, the once great Oz will be retiring after this season, which I predict we go 4-12. Hey, it is what it is.

well. as painful as the losses are, i'm enjoying watching the young guys get better every week...Carl Davis is really sticking out, and Brandon is just a beast at NT, Z is going to become a force at OLBer, he showed his quickness with his sacks in Pit...

Well, this shows the Ravens aren't giving up and as a fan, neither am I. Go Ravens and I'll see you in SF. Not the trip I envisioned but no turning back now.

The Ravens cornerback coach is a former PUNTER from Stanford University. He came to the Ravens via Jim Harbaugh.

That tells me everything I need to know about Harbaugh's ability to select coaches!
