Ravens Sign CB Shareece Wright

Can't lie, I'm not a fan of this one.  He was pretty awful with the Chargers, and couldn't crack a leaky 49ers secondary this year.

I'm not a fan either but what choice do we have, Melvin has been poor since returning and Tray Walker has look bad at times.

He wasn't good last year and kind of shock he was signed. I thought for sure The Ravens would have promoted James or Jackson but ok.

I'm not one that takes PFF as gospel or anything, but I know for sure that he's been considered one of the worst CBs year after year.  I'd rather take a chance on the young guys and see what happens.

I liked Shareece Wright a while ago for this team, I don't know how he fell off that hard.

Sums up my opinion as well. I've yet to watch him closely thus far, and I'll certainly look into his tape now that he's part of our roster. But from what I've read, he had a very tough time in his last two seasons in San Diego.

Yeah, I thought he could be a guy who could do something for us a while ago as a free agent, the man has been bad. I just think for depth purposes its an okay signing.

This does show that we're committed to finding an outside CB in order to keep Webb in the slot, though.  We're definitely getting a much better version of Webb when he plays inside.

With our luck Wright will play decently this year and get a long term contract next year only to stink it up or in more typical Ravens CB fashion, come down with a season-ending injury.

Yeah. He isn't really athletic from what I've seen, he kinda reminds me of Cary Williams-lite. Which isn't a good thing. I honestly don't think he's a good fit now that I looked back on it since we like playing our CBs a bit off.

Can't we trade for another Will Davis? Please?

Desmond Trufant is a comparable situation, right?

Hmm...let's do it. I'll send them Marlon Brown & the great Arthur Brown for Trufant.

I've just watched his targets from three of his games from 2014 and I thought his worst struggles came at the point of the catch. He shadowed mostly well initially, but then he had the tendency to either turn his head a tad late and therefore attempt to compensate with being overly physical, or simply came up just short when contesting. On quite a few plays, he was either a second too early or a second too late. I didn't have the time to watch all of his plays in those games so it's a very brief assessment.

Which is a shame because Arringtons best position is the slot but instead they are trying to play him outside.

Id much rather see this group :

J Smith

Webb

Arrington

Walker

Charles James

at least walker and james could get real game experience, wright won't put this team into the playoffs, so play for next year and find out what you have in young guys

you wouldn't know it based on his performance this year. Extremely sub-par.

Would like to see Charles though.

I think one person who will be glad to see Shareece is Jimmy Smith.  Wright and Smith, along with Allen Bradford of Atlanta, were teammates at Colton High School, Colton CA.  Yes, I went to school there too--about 30 years earlier.  #YellowJacketPride
