[News] John Harbaugh Outlines 3 Changes To Win

But in this case, the boss thinks you are doing a good job.

The people who might think he's not doing a very good job also are those who's opinions don't matter...

Never underestimate the power of the fans. Fans are the ones who pay big money to see games, spend money on over priced items with team logos. Ignore a sentiment long enough and fans will spend less money on the team and use it elsewhere. Granted, we fans are not as knowledgeable as the professionals but when the choir gets louder in numbers, they usually are right and it is foolish for a team to ignore a fan's majority sentiment that has been going on for a long time.

If your being sarcastic, you should know that there really are people out here that know football and watch college & professional football like a religion. Just because you don't have the job as a team staff doesn't mean someone doesn't know their stuff.

A lot of times getting those NFL jobs is more so about WHO you know and not WHAT you know.

One of my good friends who now lives on the West Coast and is retired Navy knows football like the back of his hand. He is a cowboys fan but knows damn near every single player coming out of college and into the NFL. He knew about Aiken & Campanaro before they even got the start. He doesn't think biased and calls things how it is.

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to know that picking Matt Elam 1st round was a big mistake.

Cool, I'm sure there are. The problem is... they still don't know as much as the people who are paid millions to coach it. They might think they do, but they don't.

They might have played collegiate or even pro ball (as a lot of these coaches did) and they may have even coached at a certain level (as ALL of these coaches have), but professional sports franchises that are 100% in it for the money aren't passing over couch coaches just because they know somebody. Most of these coaches do know people... and they also have the pedigree and resume to make them qualified for the job.

Coaches have ALL the information fans do and ALL the information fans don't. You can spend hours and hours a day dissecting game film as a fan, and you're still behind in the knowledge category, because that's the MINIMUM standard to be a coach, not the maximum one.

There is a large number of college coaches and professional scouts who have forgotten more knowledge about football than the combined knowledge of you, me, and all of our friends who thought Matt Elam was a good player coming out of college. Like many, they turned out to be wrong.

Hind sight is the only thing fans have in this regard, and its also the most irrelevant.

I think k the Ravens will get their second win when they play Jacksonville and their third and last win at home against Pitts. Next year Ravens get to play New England. That should be funny.

Exactly right!!!

There are fans, including me, who have been watching and analyzing this team way before Harbaugh, Pees, Trestman, and the majority of these players came here.

Little FYI, Dean Pees was hired as our linebackers coach in 2010. Coach Harbaugh promoted him to Coordinator in 2012

I'm not one of the ones calling for Pees to be fired. It is what it is. I personally think our guys aren't that talented. Who has the "It" factor? CJ Mosley was the 1st first rounder to play like a first rounder in years. Took Jimmy Smith 3 years to play like a 1st rounder. We have been picking late but still other teams seem to be better judges of talent than we have been lately. Now if that's on Oz or DeCosta or poor scouting they need to fix it. Don't get me wrong I love those guys but it is what it is. I can still Love the team and wonder what were they thinking when they made some of their choices. I'm a loyal fan and will not abandon ship just because we're losing. I believe we have a foundation just not all the right pieces and we have mismanaged the salary cap situation over paying for under performers. My opinion only. I'm only on this site for anger management helps me deal with the defeats.

Cool. And we're probably a good 2 years or more away from the Ravens actually taking a bottom line hit from poor play.

Remember, ALL of these fans on come on fanboards and complain, call into local radio stations and complain, etc. are the exact same guys who watch the Ravens on Sunday, even knowing that the on-field product isn't to our liking.

Franchises listen to fans when fans take actions, not when fans use words.

I have a lot of respect for Coach Harbaugh, but this is rhetoric that he HAS to say. What else is he supposed to say? We keep losing by 4 points or less... our secondary was looking lost, and the inside linebackers were looking lost... worst of all, Josh McCown threw for over 400 yards on us. What? If a Ravens fan went to sleep after either of our SB seasons and woke up today, they would not recognize our defense. Come on Harbs! Get 'em straight!

I like harbs a lot don't get me wrong, but over the years we have lost so many close games that I feel was because of harbs critical in-game decision making. the 4th down attempts are the most common, but at the same time I love it, love seeing us going for it on basically every 4th & short lol. but yea harbs is still a great coach and also makes many good decisions, but also many costly decision IMO

Harbs is working with very little talent in the past 4 or 5 drafts. Were not as deep as we need to be and it's showing up more each year as the Vets retire, or when OZ deals guys to save a few bucks. Sure Pees is an issue, and I'm all for a change at DC, but we need to draft better and find a way to keep some guys here.

YOu want change..... here it is, 1- Fire Dean Pees 2. sit CJ Mosley 3. put 2 TE ,1-

FB and 2 RB in the game and sit all the WR. Somebody will get their Butt in gear.

Sit CJ because he had a bad game? We're all angry here, but let's not get carried away. Let's not be those fans who quickly turn they back on players. We aren't Washington and CJ isn't RG3

Pees only knows how to be predictable. No adjustments or counters to what is beating us. It is a passive, tired, easily beatable Zone Prevent scheme, and I am SICK of it. I cant stand seeing it get beaten, over, and over, and over, and over, and over again and again...and nothing changes....the Players have NOT bought into it, and it DOESNT WORK! PEES HAS TO GO

Its time to smell the coffee. There are a handful of players that I would keep, however, its time to look ahead to rebuild. First and foremost, we should start with a new QB. For many years the defense bailed Joe out. With that all gone, Joe does not have what it takes- injuries and questionable weapons aside, to carry us, and or, to make IT happen. C'mon, smell the coffee. Rebuild in 2016!

Keep in mind it takes three to four years to rebuild if your lucky with your draft picks. How lucky has your Wizard of Ozzie been?

This team is so undisciplined that it is an embarrassment on the field, penalty, after penalty, after penalty, don't they teach these guys that encroachment is a penalty, don't they teach these guys that you can't hit the QB when the ball is no longer in his hands, don't they teach these CB's and SFT's to play the ball and not the man, don't they teach these guys that penalties on the offense will stop any drive. And penalties on the defense will get the opposing team closer to the enzone. But I guess they just don't pay attention to the coaches, sure we have the same coaches and DC that was there when we won the Superbowl but we don't have those veteran guys from that Superbowl team anymore. So these new guys and rookies have to be taught differently because whatever is being taught is not getting into their psyche. These are dire times we need motivational leaders on the field playing, as well as coaches who are motivational leaders. We need people who can show people where they should line up how to play their position, and what to look for and how to react in any given situation. But those folks are gone and won't be coming back so now we just have to wing it I guess, I mean I'm just saying!!!

I hope a part of the "Coach players to higher levels" ... means they find a way to get these guys to stop shooting themselves in the foot with silly penalties.

Look, when a DB draws a flag on some ticky-tack contact - that's one thing. But shoving a QB to the ground clearly after the ball is released ... using poor technique and putting a hand to the face ... lining up off sides ... missing your block and then making matters worse by pushing in the back ... These are all things we did on Sunday to contribute in a major way to the embarrassing season crushing loss.

What is the plan to put an end to that?

You cant win...when the NFL doesnt hold itself responsible for inconsistency in how and when Penalties are called. Its how they FIX THE NFL!

Ex. Last week, Ravens v Steelers had Clete Blakeman crew regarded as one of the fairer better crews, there were 9-10 penalties called last game.

This week you get Jeff Tripplette widely considered worse crew in the NFL a flag happy crew, 21 penalties called. 12 on us, 9 on Browns. No flow to the game whatsoever..no accountability by the NFL!

And its one thing to call presnap procedure calls like offside, false starts, or illegal formations. Those are not judgement calls, but when 50 % of calls are judgement calls and refs decide games its FIXED!

Case and point..

Fail Mary, and obvious Blown call when line judge was right there and stole a victory from the Detroit Lions last week.

In the NFL only 3-4 teams are Protected above everyone else. Tom Shady and the Cheaters cause Kraft runs the AFC, and owns 10% of Fanduel and these gambling sites. Aaron Rodgers and Packers cause hes the FACE of the NFL and Best player in the NFL.

Peyton Manning and Broncos because hes the old Guard like a John Elway, or Brett Favre was.. And Andy Luck and Colts because NFL still wants him to be the next Great QB eventhough hes not.

So its a FIXED system and INTEGRITY of the NFL is down the drain especially now thst they are intertwined with Gambling

#1 - score more than your opponents, #2 - hold your opponents to fewer points scored than we score, and #3 - remember games are 60 minutes long!

John: stop day dreaming. Changes in office are needed before changes in the field. You were thoroughly warned about the defense at the end of last season. You had a chance to make a difference but you didn't. Ozzie Newsome is clueless. He must go and you must do a reset on what it is this team is all about. The loss at the Browns was pitiful and the entire Ravens organization should be embarrassed and apologetic. No excuses, it was a give away game. Baltimore fans deserve better treatment. Fans were exiting early in the second half and a significant number exited before overtime. That is because the fans can read a throw away game when they see it. In other words, this loss was worse than a single game, it was the final turning-point of your back, on the fans that pay your salaries. It was a lay-down by Ravens management before the season started and will continue the rest of the season. The really bad news, the program has sunk for the next five years. The Ravens owner must wise up that Ozzie's days are over, and then and only then will new management personnel take on vital changes. The Ravens have killed a great fan base. The NFL fan allegiance in Baltimore is drying up; the cost of tickets are not worth the price or worthwhile to watch on TV. The Ravens' time has past. Both Maryland NFL teams are in a dark abyss, sadly.

C'mon folks. Flacco isnt going anywhere. We dont need to bench CJ Mosley, Dean Pees HAS been promoted beyond his capabilities, and something needs to change. We should get rid of players that we can get value for that wont be here/we wont be able to afford next year, and start looking at getting offensive weapons and a secondary put together for next year. If we're not winning the superbowl, then we should pick in the first 6 selections in the draft. Thats all I really care about. Superbowl or good draft selection

Ozzy said he would get weapons for Joe and has done nothing. We lost Pitta Torrey and Rice and replaced them with other teams cuts to save money. Joe cant be blamed, Rodgers or Brady couldn't do anything with this offence. The one year Joe had great recievers he won the super bowl then Oz gave them away. Joe best receiver is sss who is set to retire when he came into the league it was Mason who was past his prime. We need 2 stud recievers and corners on this team. Webb is done Cant be building this team year after year on tier 3 free agents. PLEASE OZ stop trading back in the draft for more picks, it hasn't worked, that has killed this team. This is a passing league and we don't have one threat on this team that's why teams blitz and play man to man on us, they are not afraid of our recievers. M. Brown has to go had enough of him he hasn't worked out in 3 years what makes u think he will now? A stud player you know in his first year he has what it takes.Look at Daulton, he is a average QB but his off. line and 3 stud recievers make him look good he is no better than Tannehill. That's what we need we been saying it for years but instead we get the Elams grrrr
