[News] What The Browns Said After Their Win

17 posts in this topic

I'm not sure I really care what they said after the win... just my opinion, but really, it's just where we are right now.

So the LT says the Browns figured out what our defense would give them and decided to just air it out. Imagine that, they anticipated our persistently ineffective game plan which resulted in an All Time record passing day for the Browns. These "what they say after they whooped our behinds" articles are painful to read and are getting all too commonplace.

Yup, imagine that!.....  Didn't Carr have a record game as well?  Two of the lower tier QB's just ran rampant on our Defense.  Red Flags are flying all over the place.  Next man up only works if you have that man to move up.  And right now we're running on empty.

Can't really blame gameplan for this one.

Blitzed a ton (which is what the fans wanted), never got there over half the time, and gave up big plays (naturally happens when you hang your secondary out to dry like that) when we didn't.

When you can't generate a pass rush without blitzing, you've got no chance.

LT-Joe Thomas said they were blitzing the Safties and doing everything they could to try to stop the run. WHY????? the browns were not running on us...nor did they show anything that would suggest they could consistently. Why when we are getting our eyes passed out by JMCCOWN! Clueless... Dean Pees has been clueless since he got here and the defensive continue to decompose right before our very eyes... I think that is three games this year that we scored 30 or more points in and lost. I think all four of our loses we put up at least 20 points in.... and lost! Our DC is clueless and his has been obvious for some time! We will continue to get worse until Pees is sent packing!

It used to be easier for us to get pass rush, because teams would have to double-t eam Haloti and/or Suggs. We don't have that push right now and teams know they can basically take all day to throw, our rushers just can't get there.

I've always kind of felt bad for the Brownies because they have been the basement dwellers for so long and quite frankly, we needed them to be, if we were going to be who we were at one time. But just like Cincy has done, and we've all seen it over the past 3-4 years, they've drafted well, have great coaching and are starting to rise to the top. We saw that one coming. Is Cleveland taking the same road?

Ohio fans deserve a feel good game too and it has to come at the expense of one of us and I guess it's our turn. Sure would be nice though, to cheat just a little bit and be as good as NE seems to be every year. Don't know how they do it, year after year, picking near last but still manage to have 3 or 4 quality 1st round picks available to them come draft day.

game plan is fine...the players are ineffective. Our secondary sucks.

Joe Thomas comment tells me that the Browns made adjustment but the Ravens did not. The coaching and talent looks bad. It's time to rebuild on the defensive side of the ball. They lack speed. Time to sell. If not resigning KO since he will demand big money, trade him. Sit Canty down and let young D-line guys play. Trade Dumervil, sit D. Smith and decide if A. Brown or Orr are worth keeping. Let Tray Walker, Waller, and Buck Allen play more to gain experience.

Give the Browns credit, they earned this win the hard way. It wasn't pretty but they were not pushed around as usual, an improvement. The Browns are now a part of making the AFC North the toughest division to play in which can only help AFC North teams get better and more prepared for the playoffs. Better divisional opponents makes teams strive to get better. The Browns have tried for years to emulate the Ravens and slowly but surely they were catching up. Hats off to Pettine for making the Browns better than usual.

What pisses me off is the head coach claiming Browns fans are more passionate about Ravens fans.

If that's true, ya'll need to get more passionate about our team win OR lose.

I have watched the Browns improve over the last few seasons, despite all the dismissive talk on here about the "Browns being the Browns." All I've seen was that they have been looking for a QB for a while. But, the team Has been improving. Well, now the Browns are a better team than the Ravens are right now. That's a tough pill to swallow, but the Ravens are really a bad football team right now and I hate to say it but I don't see a quick end to that. We lack talent, we have very poor coaching going on, and our players play stupid football. The last thing, stupid football is the hardest thing to watch. Seeing just how many times our players commit dumb and costly penalties is so frustrating. It's one thing to come up short on the talent level, but to help other teams so much by so consistently committing these dumb penalties is just totally inexcusable. I hold the coaches as much accountable for this as the players. Just when, Harbaugh, are you going to do something about it? I mean something more than just talk about it. If you continue to have no consequences for it, what reason do you have to think that it's going to stop? Time to coach, Harbs.

"They were blitzing the safety and trying to do whatever they could to take away the run game. So after the first quarter, we said, "Screw it. We're going to play with three wide receivers, and if they're going to try and blitz the run game, we're just going to make the throws on the edges and take the ball down field."

So if we are going to blitz, we need to have our DB's press the receivers. It's not hard; why don't we do it?
