Will Davis - Out for the year

30 posts in this topic

He tore his ACL during the game yesterday.

Very unfortunate for him, he was given a chance here and seemed to be playing quite well.  He is young, talented and still on his rookie deal.  He will almost certainly be back next year and will be a valuable piece. Get well soon Will Davis!

Just like last year. The guys we brought in after Jimmy was lost for the season and playing well got hurt. Davis comes here, plays well and is now gone for the year due to injury. Maybe it's time to look at strength and conditioning and looking at our medical staff or something. These injuries happening to our players is just strange.

#Ravens CB Will Davis, who has impressed since he was traded from #Dolphins, tore his ACL, source said. Another tough blow for Baltimore

This is terrible. I really felt like he had a chance to become a starter for us. The bad news just keeps pouring in.

He just joined our team a few weeks ago, how can you look at our strength coach?

Goodness. Hoping for a fast and speedy recovery for my guy Will Davis, had high hopes for him and I still do.

This is honestly the story of the season. Tragic.

Tough break after he had played so well last week. I really wanted to see more of him.

Curious to see how we fill his roster spot. There's definitely been a focus on finding an outside CB to keep Webb in the slot. Charles James and Asa Jackson are on the practice squad, but I'm not sure I like either of them on the outside.

Well, there is still Melvin. He was terrible against Cinci, but we have few options at the moment. I agree that James and Jackson would be better fits inside, so we might just have to bite the bullet and keep Webb outside and Arrington inside. That's all contingent on Webbs injury.

It may be a good idea to start using Brooks more at FS. Can't be much worse than Lewis and at least he has some speed.

I expect Melvin to get another shot at starting  since Davis is out. The Ravens could try to bring back Vaughn as well  if they don't want to go the practice squad route and promote  James or Jackson.

Arrington apparently suffered a concussion yesterday also, don't know the severity of it but head injuries are always tricky to say when they will be healthy.  We may be starting Tray Walker next week

I'm actually okay with that. If there's someone that needs the experience, it's Walker. I'm all for testing out the young guys at this point.

Again, you have to wonder about strength and conditioning...

Add in the additional rules that keep secondary players off of receivers where they are constantly pulling up, making cuts, and trying desperately not to hit a receiver, and you have injuries....  Not just on our team either.  I have never seen so many ACL injuries as in the past few years.

One of the NFL Analysts said it perfectly...  There is no real way to defend the passing game in this league anymore, except to put up more points than the other team.  We're seeing that all over the league.  Simply due to the Pass Interference calls

Not sure we should even count on him as an organization. He hasn't done much and has enjoyed injuries during his career. I like the guy a lot, and wanted him during the draft, but we shouldn't rely on him being anything for the team. Not that anyone's saying that.

As for the strength & conditioning coach, I'm not sure how you can blame him unless he went out on the field and is hitting our guys so they get hurt just so he can rehab them, lol. This is just really bad luck.

Seriuosly, we're just snakebitten.

If our strength and conditioning was the issue, then we wouldn't have even recent additions to our team getting hurt like that.

Its a testament to how bad the Front Office put together this team that Will Davis ,who wasn't even playing for the Dolphins,

looked like one of out best corners other than Jimmy.

We need to give this kid a shot next year.

New England has cut CB Brandon Fletcher.  S Taylor Mays was cut by Oakland.  S Shareece Write was cut by 49ers.
