Tank?

90 posts in this topic

No one is going to tank. Coaches have jobs to coach for. Players have jobs to play for. These guys aren't just going to give up for the team's gain. They have lives and careers too.

like others mentioned, why do we think about tanking? cuz as long as Pees employed, we are officially tanking already....

I'm ok with moving players for draft picks to speed up rebuilding.  The biggest thing is to avoid major injuries to important players.

I meant not trading away a guard or tackle.  Gotta protect Joe.

Question is moot.

Injuries and bad coaching (mainly from Pees) have already tanked us.

If our coaches have any sense, they'll start giving more playing time to unproven, healthy, recent draft picks just to see what they may have in them.

Of course, additional injuries may force their hand anyway.

The topic of "tanking" is going to be a prevailing sentiment among fans, but I couldn't disagree more and it is going to be a common theme in my posts from here on out. Tanking for a high draft pick is not a good approach. Teaching young players how to give up and lose cannot be a part of the lesson plan.

You play to win the game ... period. Nothing less than 100% effort must be demanded next week or in week 17. Clean up this self-destructive, undisciplined play NOW. Sit anyone that isn't performing, no matter what their salary is and play guys that play like they want to win.

If we do those things - and lose ... fine. Then we get the draft pick we get.

As long as Pees is DC there is no need to tank he will lose the game on scheme alone

Tanking is for teams that want to be perennial losers, and that is not the Ravens. So the playoffs is history. The new guys can still learn to play like Ravens in the next 11 games.

Ravens will likely go something like 6-10 or 5-11. Not good enough to win more than that, but not bad enough to get a Top 5 pick. I'd be shocked if this team loses more than 11 games this year.

I just want the team to finish with the best record possible this year. Maybe get some of the younger guys some real game time experience. The point in the draft we pick is the point in the draft we pick.

No one expected this type of season. I will keep pulling for this team to win every week. I will keep venting on their short comings every week they lose too.

TANKING?  I'm not sure they will need to tank to get a top 5 pick. If they can't beat the Browns at home off 10 days rest, then every game will be a struggle.

Tanking is stupid. To those who actually suggest it: Where is your integrity? Do you have any self-respect or pride? Honestly.

We're just not a good team. Its that simple. Either that or we have the worst defense in the league.

if anbody on this Team would think like that I wouldn´t want them next year!

All they have to think about is winning out the season. This might not be realistic but technically you would still be able to end the year 12-4. that would be great and everybody wouöd have signed for that before the start of the year.

I know this will not happen but that is the mindset I expect from professional Players.

You also don´t give up in your Job just because of one bad quarter...

what would that say about you and your mentality.

besides: there is not a single Problem on the Team that could be fixed by a top ten pick. we Need to get healthy and continue to rebuild. this is the Team that is without ray, ed haloti and now sizzle. so calm down, take one or two steps back and take a look at the complete Picture.

we have the right People in this Organisation and the right Players, if healthy to help this Team to win. we just Need to get some traction back.

Keep fighting and playing hard like the ravens are used to do. this is what I expect from our Team and coaches and I am 100% sure that they will do exactly that...
