Tank?

90 posts in this topic

As of today we'd have the 3rd overall pick. Trade down a couple picks and stock up of draft picks, take Laquon Treadwell. Sounds good to me. As much as I know no one wants to hear it, injuries have already put an end to our super bowl hopes for this season. Lets focus on putting ourselves in a position to win the big game next year.

They will botch the pick. A project lineman or a 40 time freak. Trade out stock pile WR's and DB's. This team is fragile yesterday looked like a mash unit..wth Ravens you are almost un-watchable

I'm down. I will suffer through this embarrassment of a season if the end result is a boatload of draft picks in the top 5 of every round.

The topic of "tanking" is going to be a prevailing sentiment among fans, but I couldn't disagree more and it is going to be a common theme in my posts from here on out. Tanking for a high draft pick is not a good approach. Teaching young players how to give up and lose cannot be a part of the lesson plan.

You play to win the game ... period. Nothing less than 100% effort must be demanded next week or in week 17. Clean up this self-destructive, undisciplined play NOW. Sit anyone that isn't performing, no matter what their salary is and play guys that play like they want to win.

If we do those things - and lose ... fine. Then we get the draft pick we get.

I really don't like the idea of tanking. It makes it seem like losing is okay. I'm not okay with losing and I don't think anyone on the team is. I'd never want this unless we didn't have a franchise QB, and even then, it would make me sick.

I'd like to avoid going 7-9 , miss the playoffs and miss a dynamic prospect.

If were gonna suck Let's only do it once.

Let's be honest the team won't willingly tank. "Tanking" in the NFL is more of fans hoping for a loss than the team willingly sucking. It's a good time to start hoping for losses in some eyes, if we lose to the niners it will definitely be time.

I would be upset if we picked Treadwell over Hargreaves or Ramsey. If we trade back it would be better to do that in the 2nd round. As far as tanking goes, Harbaugh yesturday pretty much alluded to the fact that he won't accept tanking.

This imo is a disgraceful topic and if any team that I followed did so, I could no longer follow them. Where is the pride? Is that what this organization is coming to? This is not a topic of record, this is about character and we are better than that. I've voiced my opinion on this before and in no way will I ever think losing on purpose is a good thing, as an athlete and competitor, I can never fathom the idea of anyone who loves their sport doing so. If we give up and tank the season, we are giving up far more than a win total

everyone who approves tanking has a no pride IMO and probably has never played sports or any form of competition.

not to mention what a terrible msg you are sending to players.

Kinda how I feel, but knowing this team, that won't happen. We're going to win games, get hopes up and end up in the middle of the draft...

To me it looks like the defense is already doing just that.

It's a sad day to be a Ravens fan, but hopefully it will spur (drastic) change for the better.

I can accept a bad season, but I won't accept the team playing without any pride. At the very least we can still be the trap game that screws up one of the playoff teams. As Herm Edwards said, "You play to win the game."

I have no pride because I'd rather have this team rebuild quickly before it's too late and we lose the prime years of the key pieces we have right now? This is a team that many predicted to go to the super bowl, if we can add more amazing young talent and get healthy for next year we'll be right back in that discussion. This season is over whether y'all are going to accept it or not. Lets try looking at the glass half full now and focus on winning in the future. I'm not saying our players don't have to try anymore, I'm just saying getting a top 10 pick wouldn't be a bad thing for this team.

The last thing the Ravens need to do is to create a losing culture. That losing mindset culture is toxic and could take years to undo. Play to win. Period.

people with pride dont loose on purpose period.

GL trying to convince steve smith he should not do his best anymore and drop balls on purpose so the team has a better chance to loose and get a higher pick.

my bet is that he would punch you in the mouth for even suggesting this

also what guaranteed do you have that the player you tanked for not turns out to be a bust or get injured?

what guaranteed will you have you wont deal with injuries next season or the seasons after that?

So you are the type that is going to tank every season the minute it looks like you wont be winning the SB?

We don't even have to tank if we want a top 5 pick, we just have to keep Dean Pees employed.

I assumed that's what was meant by tanking...not intentionally losing

Pees has to be fired in order to turn this around. the D has been tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurible. when the offense scores 30 points, u expect the D to not give up leads so many times.

Pees gets fired at bye week (due to another defensive blowout dud vs Cardinals), then get to 8-8

I'm okay with that. If that were to happen, it means that we addressed the team's biggest issue, and ended the year with a lot of momentum and positive vibes
