[News] Defense Shoulders Loss After Another Late Collapse

71 posts in this topic

What Defensive Minds are left in house? We need a change, like yesterday. I have been saying this for awhile, nobody playing is buying what Peas is selling. If they were, we would not be seeing this putrid pile showing up every game. We are lucky to not be 0-5, and its not because we cant score.

Dean Pees is the problem he must go. There no way these defense should give McCown 450 yards on the Baltimore defense no way and we definitely shouldn't be losing to them at home. Fire Dean Pees as soon as possible. These defense has talent and not showing it is the lack of coaching.

Harbaugh, enough is enough it's time to release Pees. We can't take this no longer he's destroying our defense that we known in love. I don't even known what that defense is I'm seeing it's a disgrace. :-(

Dean Pees needs to go.

Absolutely. That idiot has single-handedly ruined the Ravens defense. Out pass defense has never been in the top 10 under him, is consistently soft...and this season has made Andy Dalton, Carr, and now McCown look like Montana, Unitas, and Favre. On a day when the offense is supposed to stink it up and instead puts up 30 on the backs of Forsett and a bunch of back-up receivers, the D decides to take the 2ns half off...oh, wait. Sorry. I forgot, when we have a lead Pees goes into prevent mode. My bad. Why else would a journeyman QB and some noname receiver light is up in the 4th quarter. GET RID OF PEES.

Kaepernick is the type of QB we need to face next. Face it the Ravens stop the run game and seem doomed against the pass. NO pass rush left. None I hope Doom is OK.

We'll probably end up just making him look like Steve Young

" On January 27, 2012, Pees was promoted to defensive coordinator by head coach John Harbaugh." Ever since then the defense has been going down.

I don't even know what or who to blame. Pees gets aggressive and our blitz can never get there and every other time we're sitting in zone getting torn apart. Some games I like pees and 2/3 I can't stand his play calling. 33, 24, and 30 pt games should be enough without numerous offensive weapons. We NEED a pass rusher to dominate and. a coordinator who can call plays that can wrap up a game.

Dean Pees are cooked and he need to be let go in season. Just like Cam Cameron was during our Superbowl season. I am not saying by doing that we will win the Superbowl this year but it certainly will spark our Defense.

Our defense isn't as great as it used to be but u can't keep comparing it to the old defenses we've had. We USED to have great players now we have tough players who struggle to close out games, but don't blame this all on just the defense. If Tucker hits that FG we win this game. Confidence is real low in that locker room and I'm sure the front office and coaching staff are al just as pissed off as we the fans are.

I sure expected more from Jason Babin. Just one more has been layer that has found his way to B-More. Mediocrity has finally arrived at the Castle. The RAVENS are not even a middle of the road team now. You actually can see the defense crumbling as the game goes on each week now. As for the offense, 3 and out is a norm now and that is just not RAVENS football.

Harbs does seem to have some type of allegiance to the coaches and that is an admirable trait. But, at some point that will become his undoing if he does not make the required changes very soon. Remember how long it took him to replace Cameron. We all know who finally made that decision and it was not Harbs.

Game preparation!! Really. Pees needs to be first out of town and then several others who call themselves defensive coaches should follow. The team is just not prepared to play at the level we have become accustomed to. If the Colts let Pagano go, then we should be on the phone to him in a NY minute.

So Ozzie burns a 1st round pick on safety Matt Elam, and the following year he burns a 3rd round pick in another safety, Terrence Brooks. You would think that one of them would've been a decent starter, but both are terrible. Ozzie- please don't draft any more safeties or WRs or Corners. This is why Pees is up all night because you can't give him the tools to succeed.

I honestly don't know if you are being sarcastic or just venting?

I honestly think that Elam and Brooks were steals in their drafts. Their NCAA play speaks for itself. The problem is that Pees kept putting them in situations where they just can't win! Instead of putting them in situations where they have limited responsibilities, they were thrown all over the place including nickle! It's tough for a young safety to adjust to the NFL. It's even harder when they have a coordinator that can't develop anyone!

Heck it took J.Smith 3 years to look like a first rounder! 3 years! Webb has been regressing every year since pees arrived and he's not even 30. We simply suck at developing secondary players with this staff. idk if it's secondary coaches, scheme, or play calling. But I do know that we have had 20 new faces in the secondary over the past 3 years (via draft, free agency, trades) and none of them played as well in Baltimore than they did elsewhere. That includes W.Hill btw. He'd be a pro bowler anywhere else.

Actually, it was Harbs. There's nothing to suggest it was anybody but Harbs. This is well documented and was confirmed by the guy YOU think fired him (who didn't).

Its obviously an important trait to have, because without it, who would ever come coach with you? Doesn't mean he can't fire coordinators, because he has, but if he ousted coaches every time the fan boards wanted him to, he wouldn't be able to find a coach to be on his staff, because nobody would trust him.

In some ways, you sort of have to. I'd agree with your assessment IF the blitz was actually working, but about half the time it didn't. The Browns did a great job of picking it up.

So if we're sending six or seven guys, and leaving our corners in man coverage with little or no backside help, and they're playing tight man to man, that's a recipe for 40 yard completions consistently.

The reality is that, with the current guys we have out there (especially considering Dumervil was hurt), we can't afford to blitz and not get there, or at least not make a throw unbelievably uncomfortable. When that doesn't happen, every NFL QB in this league will complete first downs.

Purple&Black? You're right! We make these lame teams and players look like Superbowl contenders cause we're just that bad this year. It's embarrassing. I can't even lift my head at work when the subject of football comes up. I shy away and leave. The Ravens of last year would've won all 5 of those games we loss. We had the lead late in those games and couldn't hold it. We can't keep saying we got work to do, and then the next week we look even worse. This team isn't disciplined, that's the bottom line. Blown coverages, penalties...all signs of a lack of discipline. Mis-tackling is a technique problem...if we can correct those 2 things and get to the quarterback consistently or get some real pressure on him to make him uncomfortable in the pocket, we could be a real force to reckon with! But right now, we're just a joke! And to think that before the season, some pundits thought we would be Superbowl contenders...that's a laugh.

Every year we talk about firing some kind of coach we have, offense, defense, o-line and amongst this all is one common factor, Harbaugh. Anyone ever think maybe it's him, either way it all has happened under his watch.
