Pees has never drawn up anything that the commentators raved about in any of the games. It has been staple line up and try to beat the man opposite you. The old Baltimore Defense is LONG Gone. We need a complete overhaul and we need playmakers on all 3 levels. We're not playing team defense and I don't like to call out coaches, but Ever Since Ray/Ed left, Dean's D has not been impressive.

They did blitz but didn't disrupt McCown enough. And when they didn't get to him, there weren't enough athletes to cover their athletes. Long tiring day for the secondary. Early first round pick anyone?

So Ozzie burns a 1st round pick on safety Matt Elam, and the following year he burns a 3rd round pick in another safety, Terrence Brooks. You would think that one of them would've been a decent starter, but both are terrible. Ozzie- please don't draft any more safeties or WRs or Corners.

Defense? What defense? This so called defense is a laughing stock. They can't cover anyone, get no pressure on the opposing quarterback, and most importantly, don't make plays. There is no playmaker on this defense. This is the worst in Raven's history, and all the Ravens brass seems to worry about are acquiring more wide receivers. Just ridiculous.

the defense collapsed in 3 of our 4 loses. what good does it do to talk about how we let us down when nothing changes. The defense has let us down over and over since Pees got here.... and it has come to a climax.... how much longer will we allow him to destroy this defense? since he got here, 1. We cant close teams out 2. We cannot get off of the field on third down. 3. We commit penalties that kill us. 4. We make average QB's look like Tom Brady or Joe Montana! 5. We lost our physicality 6. The only thing that has been consistent about out defense is that we have been inconsistent since Pees got here! 7. and last... since Pees got here- NO LEAD IS SAFE!

Inconsistency is the issue. The defense will play great in small patches of games and then look abysmal later in the same games. We'll play sound, smart, complimentary coverages with the pressure up front, and then we'll fall for the most routine offensive schemes and movements. We'll bring pressure, but then go limp and sit back for portions of the game.

That's why Pees is still here. The defense has failed and succeeded in fits and starts with both the coaching and the players execution.

Our secondary was retooled and had millions invested in shoring it up this offseason. Up until this game the guys back there have been relatively healthy. So perhaps the ghost in the machine needs to change?

Or perhaps we need to watch more film not just of our opponents and ourselves, but also of what successful defenses look like and where we're lacking what they have. I can tell you that an undeniable part of that formula is consistent pressure and need for double teams by the front 4. We just do not have that.

Sad to see the defense drop another one. Two home losses in a row. Can't believe it. That was a bad football team today, and it beat a worse one in the Ravens. Amazing how the team was a play away from the AFC Championship game last year and now have fallen to this. On the bright side, Ozzie should have a higher draft pick to play with, probably the highest since we nabbed Ngata or Suggs.

It starts with the coaches, then the players, then preparation, and lastly, execution. I really am sad to be a Ravens fan right now. Still going to cheer them on, but not much heart in it.
