Stratford is there man. They're getting an O-lineman or a linebacker first round.

They just benched Stafford so who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if they stole K.O from us.

A little out of the norm, but has anyone heard of the rugby player Ben Tameifuna. He's 5'11 300lbs and runs like a tank. Not saying he will become the next Haloti Ngata, but weren't rugby his origins ?

I've been preaching awhile that I think we make a move for Garcon, vjax, Roddy white. It fills a hole that ssr leaves and could give us talent for years to come while allowing us to use our first round pick on a pass rusher or cb. We will have money to spend and I see us making some cuts that might suprise people.

Definitely need to revamp this offense and I see people still saying to stick with Aiken and as long as he's no more than a 3 I'm OK with that but I just don't think he's that valuable to us.

Can some explain to me the differences between the rfa, ufra.

I agree we need a new wide receiver and I would love Garcon and then pick one high in the draft again as well.  We need to revamp the whole team, but I think the DEFENSE needs it more then the offense.

A Unrestricted Free Agent is free to sign with any team he chooses once the new league starts.  A Restricted Free Agent can sign a contract with another team but his current team has an opportunity to match the offer.  If they do not match the offer then whatever tender designation they put on the player before Free Agency is rewarded to them by the team who signed their player. We generally stay away from Restricted Free Agents as they rarely ever switch teams

try explaining that to the lions coaches that benched him yesterday

try explaining that to the lions coaches that benched him yesterday

#1 He was the first overall pick

#2 he's young

#3 he's shown he signs of being a real good player

#4 he was benched because the game was about over. You're 0-4 l(about to be 0-5) and you're playing one of the best defenses in the league. No point in playing your QB when it's 35-0. Pointless to injure him when the seasons already over.

#5 “He’s never been on a short leash,” Caldwell told reporters. “And he won’t be in the future.”

Won't have to. They'll explain it themselves when he starts next week.

I know Harbaugh fired Cam. The problem is, he wastes seasons on these guys sometimes. Cam overstayed his welcome, now Pees needs to go. He has been the constant in these abysmal defenses. Doesn't take a statistician to notice the trend in porous performance metrics.

He should get them seasons... bad coaches fire an assistant they hire after a handful of games or even a season.

Perhaps Pees does get fired, and it wouldn't surprise me nor will I be upset about it. But whats laughable is that people thought he should have been fired in 2011 or 2012.

It generally takes losing to get changes like that.

lmao. he got benched in the 3rd quarter. game was not close to over at all. if you think he was benched to keep him from getting injured then lol.

theres been MANY first overall picks that have been benched, traded, cut, etc.

and jim caldwell isnt going to come out and stir the media by telling them theres a "qb controversy" in his locker room. thats the last thing he needs at being 0-5 is the media riding up his bleep with new questions regarding the QB situation, although they already are to some extent because of the benching. dont need to make things worse.

EDIT: it was 28-7 when stafford got pulled, not 35-0. and stafford said himself after the game he was benched because of the interception he threw to peterson.

Retain Yanda, and Tucker. Both are within our realm of price. In fact, do it now. Save us the trouble. Aiken seems to be a good #3. And Givens can be a purist deep threat so keep both of them. If Upshaw comes back for the vet min, take it.

Sucks to see KO gone, but I think Urschel can adequately replace him.

I'd cut Forsett, Webb, and Zuttah, and Canty. This would save us about 8 million. Which should be enough for us to retain Yanda.

FA wise I'd target Josh Norman

Forsett? You mean 99% of our offense?

You mean the same Forsett who is utterly dependent on the Oline in order to play well?

Yes, that Forsett.

I doubt they let Garcon go, and they wont be in cap trouble next year either. They can create 24 million in cap space by releasing RGknee and Dashon Goldson , both creating no dead money.

Id probably keep him because his contract is cheap and he still is effective but I would work in a young rb behind him

Cut almost everyone on defense - sign Josh Norman - and see if  Jimmy Smith, Josh Norman, Will Hill, Carl Davis and CJ Mosley vs. 11 would look better than our defense right now

Will Davis ACL too. At this rate, we won't be able to lure any decent DB/CB in free agency. They will all get scared, if they haven't already.

Could've sworn that's what we were already doing.

And I thought all running backs relied on their o-line. Now ppl want to cut forsett bc he played poorly in 2 games where he had no lanes whatsoever. And you talk about knee jerk reactions.

I was responding to a previous post saying we should cut forsett next year.

I strongly feel like we need a guy who is TOUGH on the WR end. I really feel like some of our WRs are soft. Especially Marlon, he tends to drop passes the moment he feels like a safety is running towards him. Its frustrating, I mean you're going to get hit anyways. To bad Steve Smith won't be back, he fills that resumé perfectly.

I agree.  Although thats not easy to find.  There arent a lot of SSR or Boldin's out there.

Not that I want to look ahead to the offseason, but two guys who I think could really help our team that we should target are Marvin Jones and Sean Spence.  Both guys are from division rivals and SHOULD be in our price range.  Jones is big and uses his body well, he also possesses good speed to get downfield.  Spence is fast and the Steelers use him in coverage a lot.  He could slot in next to Mosley next year and be the best coverage linebacker on our roster

best site to check it out.

currently if no player gets cut , released or traded we would have less then 200k in dead money next season.

No, we're good. We go from 20mil+ down to less than 200K.

unfortunately the flacco contract spike eliminates a good portion of that freed space.

Flacco will restructure, it will be only portion of the portion.
