OK, and?

Would you likely to provide the lengthy list of outstanding players who have missed multiple games on multiple occasions?

By the "injury prone" logic, Aaron Rodgers is injury prone.

Ray Lewis... injury prone.

Ed Reed... injury prone.

Gigantic fallacy.

Most of the guys I listed were really good players. And non of the players you listed get hurt as often as everyone I listed. You can't compare Ray Lewis injury frequency to Derrick Rose's. That's crazy.

I agree, but I think we will still focus on players who will be cut.  I don't see us going after many UFA's.  Id like to add someone like Vjax or Garcon if cut then add a cornerback like Keenan Lewis or Brandon Carr if cut.

I definitely see Garcon being cut.  The skins can't afford two WR with over 10m contracts.  If Garcon doesn't get cut than Djax will.  Garcon is a hell of a blocker too and would work very well in this system as a number 2.  Djax would open everything up, but don't see him as a fit.  Agree that Lewis or Carr could be decent fits.

I don't see us going after many UFAs either, salary cap space takes into account. I feel like we're going to sign a couple of starting caliber plays on defense, that's where most of the work will be done IMO.

Yeah we could definitely use defensive players.  I think we will definitely come out of F/A with a starting caliber cornerback and a good solid backup ILB.  Our defensive line rotation is pretty solid once Urban returns and I don't see many options for us to upgrade our pass rush until the draft.  Offensively id like to see us add a starting caliber wideout like Vjax and a solid veteran lineman if Osemele leaves.

I see this being a pretty active Free Agency compared to the last few seasons.

Ditto. Also helps that the market is relatively solid next offseason.

Why can't I? He's been hurt multiple different times and missed multiple games from it. Is that not the basis for labeling somebody as "injury prone"? Or are we just going to keep changing the benchmark for the label to fit whatever argument we want to make at the time?

You're labeling something that is inherently subjective and is impossible to prove. Its like classifying somebody as elite. There is no right or wrong answer.

Not if they keep suspect players. It won't place a lot of faith in Ozzie spending any money on quality. Penny pinching is thee MO.

I think its the opposite for pass rush. This isn't a good Draft class for edge rushers, IMO that should provoke us into signing one. Also Biscotti was hammering for a pass rusher in the draft and wanted one badly. We really loved Bud Dupree and there was word of us going after Shane Ray so clearly we wanted an edge rusher. I see that as the case with FAs, I think we peruse a pass rusher. With what has happened right now, I think the boss gets what he wants in Free Agency.

I like Michael Neal from Greenbay. He's a pass rusher and can play anywhere and generate pressure. We miss that from McPhee, I feel that Neal is pretty identical to McPhee and I would like him here. I expect that we show interest in him. Tamba Hali is another guy I like.

Yup, because they spend money on players that we actually drafted.

Penny pinching would be the teams that have $30M in cap space and still don't spend it, i.e. Browns, Bengals, etc.

Does Neal play OLB for Green Bay in their 3-4 defense?  Hali to me wouldn't be solving a whole lot because he is over 30 years old as well. A guy in the draft I really like is Emmanuel Ogbah from TA&M.  He can rush the passer, set the edge and drop into space.  Shaq Lawson, Carl Lawson and Charles Tapper could all be options for us in the middle rounds. Pass rushers usually cost to much so I would rather us solidify our secondary and wide receiver group in FA then attack pass rusher and secondary help in the draft.  Id be happy with a guy like Neal though if he can help us rush the passer and set the edge, good suggestion!

If the Saints part ways with Sean Payton, i would take him over Trestman in a heartbeat!! He's an aggressive playcaller, and not predictable like Trestman

Payton's getting another head coaching job as soon as he gets let go.

Thats correct, but if he doesnt, we should go after him as a OC

Sean Payton? seriously? I don't think we would get a sniff of him for being OC cuz all those losing teams would line up to offer him HC gigs.....

Neal is a 3-4 OLB and not only that but you can plug him anywhere. He's too similar to McPhee pass rushing wise. As far as Ogbah goes, you can still draft him in the 2nd, there's no reason as to why you can't even if you sign an edge rusher. You can never have enough pass rushers--ever. I also believe that we need a FS, and frankly I think we draft one early.

So do you think Harbaugh is safe if we go 1-15?

One of my non-Ravens friends asked me this same exact question. My response? "Hell no!" But then again, I don't see us going 1-15.

He has more regular season wins but John Harbaugh has more post season wins.

of course, he's safe; we aren't knee jerk organization that would just fire a HC after 1 losing season.  John won us the SB so he has at least 3 bad seasons.....a stable organization is the one who keep their top staffs intact for long term like NE, GB, Steelers, and few more....

What  ever  the record maybe this season firing Harbaugh after his first losing season would be a  jerk move by The Ravens owner.

I wouldnt be surprised if we go on a winning streak after the bye week! But then again we may end up with the worst record in the league the way this season is going!

sometimes it's a good thing we have a season like this so we can seriously review our staffs and make some adjustments like keeping Harbs stayed at bay with coaching rather than voicing his inputs for the draft.  We aren't far away from a contender team; what we lack is a leader on the field and a good defensive coach.

We should get it fixed in the off season and with a high draft pick, we would draft a real future leader on the field.....

i believe our coaching staff could be a lot better..

this needs to be the shakeup

we almost missed the playoffs last year..

we could have easily missed 3 in a row.

none of this will matter though unless we re-work/extent Flacco's contract and make a splash in FA and in the draft.

I'm banging on the table for Mike Neal from Greenbay. I feel like outside of Suggs the guy we miss the most is McPhee. We miss his ability to generate pressure from just about anywhere. Neal is a former defensive lineman converted to OLB and can really pack some heat on passing downs and he's solid against the run. I expect us to have interest in him to say the very least. Even though we have some guys coming on the books, we still should have plenty of more cap space than last season, I'm just unsure of how much. I expect we would make plenty of cuts in Feb. to make some room and Flacco's new deal should give us some more breathing room.

Sean Payton calling the plays on offense and Chuck Pagano calling the plays on defense? I would probably die from excitement.

i'd pay Harbaugh Off as they did Billick to get Payton.

Yeah I really like Mike Neal. He's a really underrated pass rusher but I'm not sure he escapes GB and even then I'm not sure we can afford him. We won't have a lot of cap. We need to fill other needs too

Yeah, I'm not so sure about the cap situation, you never really know until things unfold. As far as GB goes, his recent contract was a 2YR-$8M deal, I don't know about how much he'll get this upcoming period but I'll stay hopeful to say the least, it depends largely on how much Greenbay values him. I feel that FA is where we'll have to find an edge rusher, Biscotti was really adamant on getting an pass rusher last season and this looks to be a weak edge rusher draft class. I feel that signing one is very ideal.

I think we exhaust plenty of contracts to free up cap.
