[News] Game Recap: Browns 33, Ravens 30 (OT)

173 posts in this topic

Unacceptable. Just not a good football team right now.

If offense was completely flat it would be one thing, but we had a long week off on defense and basically sat at home and watched McCown against SD last week scouting how to attack and bait him. Instead what we got was a QB with a buncha tiny kick returner WRs and a journeyman TE march up and down the field setting records that have stood in Browns lore since Otto flippin Graham when the average Ravens fans' grandparents were still in diapers.

I would be devastated if Pees is around next week. It is obvious that your scheme is not working. More so, it is pretty bad when my 7 year old asks "dad, how do they keep losing these games at the last minute"

Pees has to go. I don't get how he can play soft coverages all game even after McCown and the Brown's no name TE continue to exploit them

Prevent defenses only prevents you from winning! Also didn't McCown beat us in 2013 with Chicago? So there is a history playing against him...SMH

Our offense was without their top 2 players at every single skill position by the end, and still scored 30. The defense was playing well, but we ended up without our top 2 pass rushers and 2 of our top 3 corners. The amount of injuries we have to our key players is just ridiculous. That being said, you'd think that even our backup DBs would at least be able to stay within 5 yds of the guy they're covering. They just simply give the other team whatever they want without even making them work for it.

They have talent! That is what hurts the most. Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco, Pro Bowl Justin Forsett right behind him, the best offensive lineman in the league in Yanda, and future hall of fame Steve Smith when he gets back. On the defensive side of the ball we have pro bowl CJ Mosley, Daryl Smith who is good, 3rd in the league in sacks last year Dumervil, and one of the best cornerbacks in the leagues in Jimmy Smith. They have the foundation to be an incredible team. There has been terrible coaching calls this season and it is killing the organization. Fans see it, you need to fix it NOW.

Very unexpected and sad start to the season.

The offense isn't great but they are still putting up points with a patchwork core of receivers, but the defense can't stop a cold. Not sure where we go from here, looking like a losing season and a high draft pick in our future.

We are just lucky that "Big Ben" did not play last week or we would be 0-5 now! The corners were playing 10 yards of the receivers, and even at that the receivers got open down field, while our receivers could not get open. Personally, I did not even get mad in the second half, I think everyone knew what the out come was going to be. Our secondary is an embarrassment, something has to change!

With 11 games left, it is depressing to anticipate the entire rest of the season playing so badly. So many things need to improve but at least DO SOMETHING drastic to change some of the things which are obvious. For one, if it's a new DC, so be it. I cannot imagine watching 11 more games this disgraceful. Part of me is foolish enough to hope for a miracle but intellectually/realistically, I don't think we can salvage the season. However, I DO expect our team to at least play respectable football. We have too many talented players to be playing this poorly.

Totally breaks my heart to say that the widely feared, relentless defense that has defined our Raven's team for many years, now ceases to exist...... I know we have many injuries, but this team has always pulled together and bent but did not break..... I think it is safe to say, we are now broken..... :(

"Without it`s host of offensive weapons and a defense without two of it`s top three corners." LMAO at this!

It's Cleveland and we are the RAVENS we shouldn't be losing to them with a 20M a year QB. We didn't score on the last drive of regulation to win the game. Brady and Manning has done it for years...win without dominant defense. Rogers won for years without having a 100 yard rusher. The defense played horrible pass defense, bu the offense had a chance to seal the deal.

OMG! This "defense" is the worst I have ever seen. What a joke they are. Can't stop anyone. Can't cover anyone. Just ridiculous. While the idiots are worried about wide receivers, no one has done a darn thing to upgrade the terrible defense. Over 30 points to Oakland was bad enough, but over 30 to Cleveland, and McCown? Don't blame this one on Joe or the offense, even though they too looked like crap at times. Just awful.

I'm done defending Pees. You can't sit there and say "oh well, he was our coordinator for all those teams that went to the playoffs." Our defenses have been abysmal season over season in crucial games whether we've had injuries or not. Way too much inconsistency against even mediocre competition.

Let's be honest here folks, we're one unfortunate landing on Ben's knee and even then, one strange end zone drop by Antonio Brown away from being an 0-5 club.

You gotta give Monachino a chance. We don't know what he's capable of unless we let h8m play with live bullets.

The remainder of our season, we will get some key offense players back. Our defense has to step it up, but it's our offense that must pull thru which is possible if we get sorely needed players back. For example, SSS and Gilmore on field today...we may have scored enough to win regardless of defense. But SSS, Gilmore, Campanero, Forsett (later in game) ALL out.

Why should we expect to win another game this season? The d continues to make the same mistakes game after game and teams are picking us apart. Lewis looks lost out there. Our WR's disappeared as the game went on, minimal pass rush, stupid penalties, coaching mistakes, on and on and on.

Same thing each week. It is an exercise in futility and sad to watch.

The tone of that turning point of the game paragraph makes it sound like it's Buck Allen's fault. I don't think you can blame him for the browns racking up 33 points.

High draft pick will not happen. We have a 20M QB that has to play every game and a fan base that want except tanking games. So we will win just enough games that our draft pick will not be a sure thing. You can only think about tanking games when you are looking for a QB and Andrew Luck, Manning, Rogers, etc. is the grand prize of the draft.

When you really look at it this is not surprising. McCown is a good QB, a backup , but a good one. The Ravens D has no pass rush the DBs cant cover so if not for the offense this would have really been a blowout. The defense needs a new leader, i believe Pees time is up in Bmore.

Its pretty simple, all of the games lost have come from not being able to hold on to 4th quarter leads or prevent top players and non top players alike from having big games. It falls on our D coordinator not putting together the right scheme or placing our players in the best position for success. He has to go period.

I agree with you. The playoffs are all but over. You have to win 10 games and in some years 9 games to get in playoffs in AFC. with 11 games left there is no way that this team can win 8 or 9 games out of 11. The schedule already is tough with 5 out of 7 of the first games on the road, but we have loss to Cleveland and Oakland two games that should be automatic wins. It's simple we are what we are maybe a 4-6 win team this year.

McCown sets a franchise passing record with this corp of receivers, passing the likes of Otto Graham, against our "defense," and I use that term loosely. How Embarrassing!!

Dude I agree with you. I've been saying for years he's only good in the playoffs for some reason, in the regular season like you said "hes sucked quite honestly".

Pro Bowl CJ Mosley was getting lit up today. He couldn't cover a RB, TE, Ref, towl boy...
