Top 5 Draft Pick?

On the topic of Bosa just hope that the Texans don't draft #1 overall...

*craps his pants in fear*

Bosa, Clowney and Watt. Yikes.

The sad thing is they'd probably still go 8-8 most years so that would just be a waste of his talent.

Even though Bosa would be the clear best player, I don't think Houston has the luxury of taking him. The best thing they could do is trade down with another top ten team that wants Bosa, get all the picks they can, and then select a QB in the first.

As a side note if the Ravens do pick top five, it also means they'll be in the perfect position to take a first round talent in the second. There's always a couple guys that fall due to injury, someone having a great combine, etc. They could get an elite player and possibly someone that should have gone in the mid first round.

thats nick bosa, joey bosas little brother whos being recruited out of high school atm.

bosa is going first overall unless the top picking team is incredibly stupid, and even if they are stupid he is gonna just go 2nd.

in short, we arent getting him

Bosa isn't a surefire number one pick. Ronnie Staley and Jared Goff both have legitimate shots at going number one depending on the team and they could easily go 1, 2.

They'd be dumb to not go Jared Goff there

I know it's not a position the Ravens need help at but Robert Nkemdiche would be hard to pass up if he fell to the Ravens. Otherwise I'd say Treadwell, Jaylon Smith, or Hargreaves.

One pick I wouldn't be opposed to in the right circumstances, but I think would go down about as well as a tax hike, would be OT Ronnie Stanley from Notre Dame. Long-term he could be our best LT since Ogden.

Nkemdiche looks too much like a 4-3 DT to me, but that's just me. I think the Ravens would want an edge rusher.

As far as Staley goes, I think he's a hard sleeper for the number one pick with how caught up on Bosa people are. However, he'd be the perfect fit for the ZBS. He just lacks a nasty streak.

a qb hungry team could take goff first overall, but unless something bad happens with bosas season then i dont see him falling past #2, a 3-4DE as physically dominant as he is, while also having the athleticism to play OLB, is a rare breed and since JJ watt came along its all the rage, if the most dominant DL having team in the league was picking 2nd overall, id still expect them to take bosa. if he goes lower than 2 i will be absolutely stunned and laughing at both teams.

EDIT: unless its houston, they have no business taking bosa.

nkemdiche or jaylon smith would be a typical ozzie pick, and i will be completely honest, i will probably join the idiots calling for ozzies head if he were to get a top 5 pick and take one of those 2 lol.

if we get a top 5 pick we just absolutely can not afford to blow it on a "future" cornerstone, we have a strong front seven and a bunch of DTs filling the roles of NT and DE, we dont need another DT and i would call it a very stupid move to draft a DT with the first top 5 pick weve had since 96, this team is not in rebuilding mode, it just needs key pieces, a WR, a FS, a edge rusher, a CB, and an OT are all pieces we either desperately need now, or will desperately need within a year or 2, DT just is nowhere near that category, and for that simple reason we can not afford to go pure BPA, passing on ramsey, floyd, treadwell, boyd, hargreaves, or stanley for a DT of comparable talent level would be an absolute bonehead move, i dont care if he goes down as the GOAT DT in a ravens uniform, drafting a player who fills our biggest holes allows us to win NOW and capitalize on joes last years here, the window is closing and we can no longer afford to draft the way we did in the 2000s

If Jack is who you're referring to as someone that we could take due to injury related fall, I'm all on board.

Bosa and Jack could/would be studs to build on for years and put us back on track for the dominate defense Baltimore has come to be known for

Myles Jack is one of the people I was thinking of, but there could be others that fall for one reason or another. Like the way Jernigan fell just due to an inconclusive drug test. But yeah, Jack plus a top ten pick would be amazing.

I just think it purely depends on who it is because Staley can be a franchise left tackle, and those are about as hard to find as a quarterback. those three will all be vying for the number one, two, and three spot. I'm just of the mind set to be open to anything.

Based on that order that's currently up there, I could see the Lions potentially taking him (dirty tandem with Ansah), but if they somehow passed, the next team I could see would be the Saints at four.

I was so confused for a second.

Tubsill is such an unknown right now. Top 10 talent, yet to be on the field this season. He could be in for a tumble

ole miss OTs scare me after michael oher and i know its a completely irrational concern lol

i preferred stanley anyway, if we manage to land in the top 5 and hes available, i just think it'd be a no brainer, ozzie would pull the trigger in a heartbeat over any prospect other than bosa.

I realize the intent of this thread is to talk about who we'd get if we were to get a top 5 pick and not about whether we actually want to get a top 5 pick.

I know a lot of people believe that, since we're not a playoff team, what is the point of finishing in the middle of the pack? Those people are in favor of seeing us tank and getting a really high pick.

Personally, I'm not on board with that approach. No doubt we're suffering from a lack of talent, but I don't think we have the talent level of a 4-12 or 3-13 kind of team. In order for us to get that pick, we will have had to give up as a team. That could be damaging long term.

well right now we would have the third pick

The bad news is that we lost today, but the good news is that that means more Bosa gifs. :D

Doing good against Maryland I like beating up a baby. He's a 4-3 DE, why do you think he'd be the same player in a 3-4 system?

The gifs are just a fun way to take some of the sting out of losing. It's a fair discussion, but criticising him in response to the pics is kinda missing the point.

We're in a draft board. I along with others are looking for players that we would actually draft. Throwing out a name of Bosa without wanting to defend it is pointless.
