The irony of Torrey and Anquan, who we miss desperately this year ,lighting us up will be fitting.

I will be surprised if it doesn't happen

A small part of me will be rooting for them as I liked both players.

I'm picking up Boldin this week in fantasy

You make a good point, but man... I miss last year's oline. And I really shouldn't have to since the same players are finally back.

We have no speed. Torrey had to be respected. There is no one healthy bow that makes safeties play off. The run game is doing fine recently but someone on the outside that other teams might know the name of would probably help.

The way Trestman was scheming to get SSS open shows he's more creative the Kubiak. Likewise he actually called a qb bootleg which fooled everybody in the stadium. Kube's ZBS and stretch runs are way better than anything Trestman does in the run game even though the run game hasn't been terrible recently. Trestman's play-calling in certain situations leaves a lot to be desired and I still want different personnel packages to take advantage of mismatches, but in 5 games, our offense on average has been more potent than Kube's and Trestman has less talent to work with.

Regarding San Fran, I honestly believe that Kaepernick will look like Vince Young in the Rose Bowl this week.

Trestman's 3rd down play calling is horrific.

This I can agree with. Got to clean that up. For the most part, hes been good. Can't get upset at him for yesturday, literally no one was open.

Somewhat disappointed to see Dwight Freeny sign with the Cardinals with Terrell Suggs out and Elvis Dumervil dealing with the groin injury. Jason Babin is off to a woeful start, and he could certainly bounce back, but it would worry me if we had to lean on Babin as one of our main edge rushers.

Maybe not. That fake handoff that Flacco scored on yesterday was a thing of beauty.

That's the only play out of 5 games that was creative . Can you name another ?

Well our offense with literally no weapons is the least of our worries .

This defense is arguably the worst ever fielded by the Ravens . Add in some injuries to Suggs and now Dumervil

And we have zero pass rush . The linebackers look confused covering tight ends and the secondary can't

cover anyone .

I've been watching Hyde closely and he looks very good. That being said, we've mostly fared well against the run and their offensive line has been decimated by injuries, so I doubt it'll be a walk in the park for him.

After reading all of these comments, I feel like the only one who thinks we're gonna win lol. Realistically, this is a winnable game. Our offense should be fine, hopefully we get Steve back, Maybe Crockett if we're lucky. The playcalling needs to be changed, especially on 3rd down. We have to convert and keep our defense off the field and at the same time get TDs instead of FGs. The defense will probably get torched, but if they can play somewhat better, maybe get a turnover, we should be okay.

And for those thinking we're gonna get slaughtered by the Cardinals, we won't. It'll be the typical game that comes down to the last minute. We can win it, doesn't mean we will, but I believe.

Kaepernick says he believe the 49ers can go from 1-4 to 12-4. That's as likely as Dean Pees actually calling the right plays to close out a game on defense properly. Or as likely as us going from 1-4 to 12-4 with Dean Pees as our defensive coordinator. Neither will happen, enjoy your gifted W Kaepernick, courtesy of Dean Pees.

Prediction:

Ravens 34

49ers 37

This next one is certainly winnable in my eyes. I'm not a fan of looking past teams, but with regards to Arizona, it will be a tough match up, especially since Carson Palmer is playing some of the best football of his career. That's a strange nugget considering that he's 35 and is coming off a nerve injury to his throwing arm and an ACL tear.

every time I predict a victory we lose, and when I predicted a loss @ Pittsburgh we actually won. So in hoping the trend continues I'm gonna say we lose and get torched by boldin and Torrey.

If we win the next two there will be a microscopic glimmer of hope, but let's just win one first.

Ha! I'm superstitious so I appreciate your commitment. I also agree with the latter.

You better keep saying we'll lose. I want to see January Joseph Flacco do work!

I am starting to see a trend of people saying trestman isn't good with nothing to support the claim. Trestman is solid, honestly might be just as good Kubiak in his own way.

There is no way we should be scoring any points with this offense and these slow tight ends. We are trying our hardest to make teams respect the pass, then run it down their throats.

Trestman has some definite head scratching play calls on 3rd down and his 2 min drills are most times pathetic. I am also not a big fan of his let's run on 1st down 99% of the time. He is also new though and what I see from Trestman is change & improvement each game. As you said as well, he has very little to work with right now.

Oddly, some  of those bashing Trestman are the same ones who give Pees the injury excuse year after year after year.

well keep in mind, the deep routes have shorter combo routes underneath. Flacco just likes taking his shots, and he's shown that he can scheme guys open, aiken and Sss aren't very fast but he's got some good designs.

I completely agree.  Look who our WRs are and we are putting up a good amount of points.  Im happy with him for the most part, but for sure need more than 5 games to give him an actual grade.

Trestman's 3rd down play calling is horrific.

It's hard to get creative on 3rd down because most teams know we're going to pass. With no talent out wide it's not difficult to run the proper defense and stop us. Trestmans doing a great job mixing in the run and pass. He's forcing our offense to put ridiculous amount of points considering the amount of talent we have.

We managed 30 points in a game where our receivers had one catch for zero yards in the second half. Trestman's good, I agree.

I need Maxx Williams to show up for this game. I know he's a rookie TE but Nick Boyle has been outplaying him recently.
