The good, bad and ugly vent Browns at Ravens.

To be fair. He's the only QB who's expected to win with late round picks, undrafted people, journeymen, and people past their prime. Torrey, Boldin, and Maxx were the only exceptions, but spread across 8 years is tough. Also Perriman has literally not played but that's no one's fault; just terrible luck.

Plus a new coordinator every year, all of which have been terrible except 1.  And it showed big time with that 1.

absolutely agree......oz is part of the problem.

lets fix it all

Lol give me a break. The talent is there.

Our players and coaches screwed up. Oz is fine.

It's one thing to play without Dez and Julio. It's another thing to expect to have a potent offense with nothing but undrafted players. Not a team in the league had that, stop.

And while it's disappointing that the offense couldn't convert that last TD, I have no idea why that would be anyone's main concern with our defense giving up a 3rd career game to QB in five games.

Well - teams win more often at home for a reason. Crowd noise can play a role, but there is also the fact that you don't need to travel, the comfort for the players in their routine. It is an advantage ... but not one we could take advantage of today.

Not this team though at least so far.

I actually agree with you. Also take into account that the team is pretty young. Mistakes will be made. We need a few veterans this year. In two to three years I am going to love the team. Alas. This is what happens with a younger team.

Welp, these are my thoughts.

-This defense might need a overhaul, and it starts with Pees. I can't blame him too much honestly. The defense has problems within the players. Terrible tackling, terrible communication, terrible instincts. I mean the only guys who honestly did their job was Jimmy Smith, Lawrence Guy and Ladarius Webb, everyone else was pretty awful, including C.J, who had a bad day in coverage.

-This team has no pass rush to speak of without Doom and Sizzle, I mean it doesn't exist at all. Not in this universe to say the least.

-Oz will have some work to do one this defense, I don't think our usual approach will work either.

I really cannot put any blame of Joe. He missed Marlon maybe once but overall he did all that he could with the WRs and TEs that were on the field. No one was open near the end of regulation. I mean no one. Did he miss a few guys and throws? Yes, but at the same time, every QB tends to miss a guy here and there.

In the second half, I hated the play-calling on offense. I didn't understand some of the things they did.

On the injuries side of the situation, we are unlucky as you can get, it's ridiculous and sucks quiet honestly.

As for Pees, I think it's time to make a change, I don't know if it's now or when the season ends, but I do believe you need to make drastic changes on this defense. It's too insane to allow this to happen. Even the Raiders held their own at Cleveland defensively, and we have to be better than them on defense, not to mention you're at home.

It's not looking good right now, I've accepted this isn't a good team.

First name to be fired immediately: Chris Hewitt

This guy should not be coaching JV teams.

lol No this is his first season so he can't be blamed for the same exact problem in 2012, 2013, 2014. Pees is the problem. The only constant to the same things that plague this defense season after season after season.

agreed. most of our guys at wr would´t even start on a top college team right now.

I am disappointed and really thought they might prove all of us wrong and step up. Didn´t happen.

Still think that 30 points need to be enough to win a game!!!

Well I think Trestman can be good. Only been 5 games. Still needs better play calls in certain situations, and package selections though.

To try to lighten the mood a bit, here are some positives I found...

Sam Koch was money all day for the most part.  Terrence Brooks is a monster on the blitz.  Even if he doesn't get there, he forces pressure.  Forsett, Allen, and the OL all had great games.  Aiken stepped up early but faded down the stretch.  Trawick remains the best ST player we have.

Flacco minus Anquan Boldin is closer to a chump than a champ.

Really? Just put up 30 pts with a JV receiving corps.

I think it's smart to just tank. Too many injuries and the Bengals are already way ahead of us. Just get that top 5 draft pick and grab Bosa!

I'd like to get the 6th pick and get either Ramsey or Hargraves, really need some young blood in this secondary.  Jimmy and Hill are the only two players worth a damn

All that means is that we WASTED good efforts.

Flacco is responsible for 3 TDs today and one of his biggest critics isn't roasting him right now. He was fine. Just because he's not a good fantasy QB doesn't mean he can't do this. Flacco alone is not capable of winning games. Very few QBs can. He needs a defense as football is a team sport.  If we had a defense we'd be a playoff team.

I also thought Ross did a good job.

His only positive play was getting drilled in the head for a 15 yard penalty (on a pass he dropped).

I agree completely. He has failed to step up and plays like a 5'6", 150lb guy out there.  If that pass wasn't so terribly thrown he probably doesn't even draw a penalty.

a lot of teams are setting passing record against our defense these days.

I remember days when games were´t close when we scored 30 points.

we are somehow lacking our identity...

on offense it is the lack of weapons but I do not see many excuses for the defense besides suggs...

Times have changed.  30 points ain't 30 points anymore.

But the pattern of inability to hold a team late has reared its Head.

We got monumental problems and big problems require drastic solutions.

Newsome

come on dude.

show me one other qb that has to deal with that kind of "weapons" for such a long time.

Where do you think would matty ice be without white and jones and the old tight end?

where would red carrot be without green sank and his great running game? plus he has a defense.

where would stafford be without megaton and tate?

Jimmy smith - " we didn't come through today"

No crap Sherlock.

Yeah. He actually was relatively decent today. Hope that's a sign of things to come.

He was db coach last year. He was the guy that taught the guys last year. This year he managed the personnel that taught secondaries.

He needs to be scraped asap.

I'd rather just get the player that would make the biggest impact and go DB in free agency.
