The good, bad and ugly vent Browns at Ravens.

802 posts in this topic

Week 1 - We lose our real defensive leader (Suggs is more of a leader than Pees) in Terrell Suggs.

Week 2 - Defense just blows it (much like when we got pancaked by the Texans right after losing Ray Lewis.)

Week 3 - Gilmore goes down (Playmaker on Offense)

Week 4 - Smith Sr. goes down (Number 1 player on offense)

Week 5 - Doom, Forsett, and Webb go down

On top of that, Canty is out.

I think in a lot of cases, that many injuries to that many star players is going to doom us.

That leaves Flacco, Tucker, and Jimmy Smith as our only "star players" completely healthy.

sad but true.

pretty much nothing a front office can do about that...

Yeah, having the Bengals game on in the corner of my screen made this a particularly tough loss.

I'm sorry you had to see that.

Does homefield even matter any more?? When was last time we lost two home games back to back?

Sucks but I wont be going out of my way to watch games any more this season.

Please man . We were in a position to win again with Forsett's td run . The 2 point conversion play call was beyond bad!

Cleveland set an all time passing yards record today !

They have been around awhile my friend

Forsett running behind Osemele was the only offense we could muster the entire 2nd half against a browns defense without their top corner and safety.

Marlon brown couldn't catch a cold. He needs to be cut. Once again we make a sub par qb look like a pro bowler. I just don't get it. Aiken started out hot but disappeared in the 2nd half. No givins. If only forsett didn't get injured on that last drive. He was punishing them and on a roll and he goes down when we need him the most. Not his fault, just our luck. Unless we win the next 2 in a row were done. Most ppl expected us to lose against Arizona so if we can salvage that game we might scratch our way back in. But at this point I wouldn't count on it. This defense needs a major overhaul- and I for one think that starts with the one calling the plays.

Pees needs terminated immediately

Josh freaking mccown threw for 457 yards

Yeah, and while we are at it, get rid of Ozzie. His drafts have been sucking for too long. We have Mosley, Flacco, and Rice, and Tucker as the only decent draft picks out of the rest since 2008. He has failed more than succeeded. Jimmy SMith and Ladarious Webb are both overpaid. Chris Canty, and Eugene Monroe are both overpaid. Perriman another bust to add to Ozzie's monstrous list of draft busts the past few years. We have a bunch of little girls on this team who want to ride the bench and get paid. I am sick of it. Time to start over, but truthfully I don't trust Ozzie to get us anything even with a high draft pick we are likely to have in 2016. And yes, Pees needs to be fired TODAY!!!! right after the game. By the way, the Bills one, and guess who the QB was. I'm starting to seriously believe that the mind set of this team needs to change immediately. If not, get rid of those that don't want to play for better.

I really can't see us going on a west coast trip, staying there and winning 2 games. I suspect we'll lose both of those games and stare at 1-6 pretty soon.

a lot of teams are setting passing record against our defense these days.

I remember days when games were´t close when we scored 30 points.

we are somehow lacking our identity...

on offense it is the lack of weapons but I do not see many excuses for the defense besides suggs...

People are finally starting to realize how bad he is. He literally can't do anything well. Plays extremely small and timid, has no hands, runs sloppy routes and is slow.

His only positive play was getting drilled in the head for a 15 yard penalty (on a pass he dropped).

One word - NO. Crowds don't go on to the field and augment coaching and playing. They just scream loudly when you're winning which we are not.

We have no QB either. It's time for a complete overhaul and I'm not so sure Ozzie is up for it anymore.

absolutely agree......oz is part of the problem.

lets fix it all

I thought Aiken played really well. I like Trestman play calling but he should have got Givens more involved on some plays .The run game just was too good to not make some play action deep plays.  I don't like Dean Pees but The Ravens lost both of their starting cornerbacks late in the game and that just didn't help much.

Time to tank.

I think it's smart to just tank. Too many injuries and the Bengals are already way ahead of us. Just get that top 5 draft pick and grab Bosa!

Say what you want, but Flacco has been way worse that last year so far. I thought year 8 would be his ascension to elite status, but he just keeps playing poorly when it matters. And I don't think he can make his receivers into stars quite yet.

To be fair. He's the only QB who's expected to win with late round picks, undrafted people, journeymen, and people past their prime. Torrey, Boldin, and Maxx were the only exceptions, but spread across 8 years is tough. Also Perriman has literally not played but that's no one's fault; just terrible luck.

Brady is 38 and in a lot of ways he's a better player now than when he was 30. I don't think QB's have the same timeline career wise as basically every other position, Flacco still has PLENTY of football left in him, he hasn't taken much punishment over the years and has taken really good care of his body. I think he can definitely play at a high level for another 6-8 years.

That's sort of true ... in that Flacco has more in the tank, but the clock is ticking.

Don't compare Brady. His style of game works well for aging. Flacco's #1 asset is his cannon of an arm and that isn't going to last into his late 30s.

True that. They've been talking up the defense for years; other fans are the same way. It's almost like they don't watch our games and only make assumptions based on history.

And that's dis-respectful to Ray , Ed and all the other great ones.

Well - teams win more often at home for a reason. Crowd noise can play a role, but there is also the fact that you don't need to travel, the comfort for the players in their routine. It is an advantage ... but not one we could take advantage of today.
