The good, bad and ugly vent Browns at Ravens.

It's just super annoying that every game this year is a repeat of the San Diego game from last year. I'd rather them get blown out so I don't get my hopes up.

Still time in the season for that.

The first one will likely be in primetime for the entire world to see @Arizona.

Gave up yards, got injuried as usual.

Fair point on the injury given his history. That being said, he gave up 1 reception on 2 targets and sniffed out a screen to Taylor Gabriel for a 2 yard loss. But yes, let's make it sound as if he badly struggled before leaving the game. Sounds appropriate.

Agreed with this. I'm not big on Trestman either, but I don't think he's going anywhere.

No way we are firing him after the season. That doesn't even make any sense. SSS, Glimore, Periman, Camp, all injured. Kamar Aiken is being asked to do way too much.

Maybe ,maybe not . I gotta say he reminds me of Cam every time I see a ridiculous 3rd down play call .m

I'd bet there's going to be a shakeup soon. We're not even close to meeting expectations for this season and Bisciotti's not happy. Heads will be rolling soon, and I legitimately think Pees's head is coming soon.

I think you are correct . Some players will get released too .

Wow did not realize this . Pathetic .

This is why, despite being a pretty frequent Flacco critic, have little to say about him or the offense in general. This is what happens when you continuously devalue the WR position. The position erosion began with trading Boldin, and now with Torrey gone and SSS injured, the cupboard is now completely bare. The FO had a chance to address the issue in the offseason but they refused. They finally drafted a WR high this year but it was already too late, they should've been stocking talent beforehand rather than relying on 6th, 7th, and UDFA scrubs. At least this season has finally shown them that their approach is outdated.

Not exactly sure who you can release at this point with the number of players on the trainer's table.  I don't really see any obvious cuts that aren't playing up to expectations other than a guy like Marlon Brown.

Babin will get released .

What has happened to this guy? I don't get it .

He was an overhyped player to begin with.

But even with that he's regressed down to a shocking level. He shouldn't even see the field at this point.

Those were courtesy of Babin.

Speaking if that guy (Babin) yeah really costly penalties at important times. We can include a roughing the passer penalty by another guy (Lawrence Guy)  that nullified an interception. Ravens didn't put the Browns away when they had the chance and so didn't earn the right to win. They're not the team, right now, to win close games. Last week was fortunate.

Doubt it.  We're already light on pass rusher and then Dumervil went down today.  Releasing Babin would leave you with only ZDS and Upshaw, and we all know Upshaw isn't much of a pass rusher.  It's not like there's much else on the market.  Babin was who we deemed the best option when we signed him and nothing has changed in regards to who is available.

We will see. Babin showed nothing today . Zilch.

Yeah I thought he might have a breakout season this year but I'll admit it ,he should not be playing right now .

While that may be true, I don't see much of an alternative.  I at least saw him driving the RT back a few times, although it didn't result in anything.

Babin will stay only because there's nobody else. He's awful. Could even argue he lost the game with that last penalty.

1 reception by a receiver in the second half.

1.

I didn't realise it was that bad. That's some Kansas City stuff right there.

I'm also willing to give him more than 1 game.  He played last week, but only 7 defensive snaps which is hardly enough to get any sort of read on him.  It was definitely a bad game, but it's still only really been 1 for him.

You also need to keep him in the system if Dumervil is going to miss some practice time, assuming he suits up next weekend.  It took Babin a few games to learn the complicated system that belongs to Dean Pees, so bringing in a new face will probably have the same effect.

The problem is enlarged by lack of finances or maybe bad spending, the reason both Boldin and Torrey are gone. Now with Suggs and Dumervil down and no McPhee as backup, Blitzes are needed which exposes an already suspect secondary. Not sure McPhee would have made the difference needed for wins in these close games but obviously a better choice than Babin.

Also a lot more expensive than Babin, to be fair.  Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Boldin being gone was the FO's greed. They were only quibbling over a couple million dollars that they ended up wasting on scrubs like Huff, Spears, and Stokely.

The Pitta contract was absolutely stupid.

I don't see how releasing Babin solves anything but open another hole at OLB after losing Suggs for the year & Dumervil for some games. I would like to sign Dwight, though. He could be a nice addition.

1.

That's mindboggling.

In addition, according to Eisenberg's breakdown:

In the last three quarters and overtime, the Ravens’ wideouts combined for just three receptions totaling 6 yards.Marlon Brownicon-article-link.gif caught one pass for zero yards. That isn’t going to cut it.
