The good, bad and ugly vent Browns at Ravens.

I think letting McPhee go was ozzies biggest offseason mistake. He woukd have benefitted the team more than all outside free agents combined this year.

Can't pay a rotation guy that much scratch, as much as I wanted him to stay.

That 2 point conversion call was indeed a ridiculous coaching decision. and goes to the overall integrity of the coaching staff.

Yeah in retrospect that call certainly cost us the game.

The Ravens really are a team in disarray.  It ain't getting fixed this year.

I do agree its time to move on. At least in 2013 we had Ngata.  This year we got Notta.

Don't see this being on pees.

We have no pass rush...not Pees fault...Front office let Ngata and McPhee leave and we lose our defensive leader.

Secondly, no one saw our secondary being this horrible...we have the names..their just playing like scrubs. Maybe some of that is Pees not using his secondary correctly..their just not performing.

I think this disaster of a year is solely on the Front Office.

Everyone keeps talking about Ozzie or the coaches.... those guys don't commit penalties on the field. The Ravens achilles heel have been penalties. Undisciplined. Giving up almost 100 yards in penalties will kill the game.

He may have been a rotational guy, but his interior pass rush was an absolutely huge component of our pass rush.  I'm not saying we would have paid the price for him, but he still had a ton of value to us, even if not a "starter" in name.

The cap is on Ozzie too. The Pitta contract especially was probably the worst decision in recent team history. Rice will at least fall off after this year but Pitta will hurt us for a while.

You know, the "Injured Pitta" contract was in direct response to Ozzie's mistake of essentially waiving Anquan Boldin.  Oz never admitted it, but Newsome realized Flacco had a comfort zone with Boldin and that he'd yanked it away from him. The Pitta deal was Oz's attempt to not further deny Flacco his playmakers.  Which is all the more quizzical because this year Oz did the exact same thing by letting Torry Smith walk.

I'm not even going to get into the actual "Savings" Oz gave Boldin away for.  Talk about a comedy!

I'm just done with Newsome. I don't like him anymore. I don't think he's competent anymore. He got old and slow, can't come up with the catch and its time to waive him.

Harbaugh is now lets see....8-8, 10-6 and 1-4 since "The Purge".  That's 19-18.  Mediocre anyone?

Actually, the pass rush wasn't really that bad. McCown got sacked at least 4 times and was under pressure a number of other times but did a good job of stepping up into the pocket and making plays.

The secondary looks as if they've no idea where they are supposed to be on the field. They are in disarray. So, either we have no talent out there or the talent we have is being poorly utilized. If the former, it is the FOs fault. If the latter, it is coaching's fault.

You state that the issues seems more with poorly utilizing the talent, then go on to place the fault of this season solely on the the FO. That seems contradictory.

Except for the fact that we did make multiple offers to Ngata and he rejected them...

I know. Trust me. He was one of my favorite players and our most versatile. He could generate pressure from anywhere and provided much needed depth, while producing at a Pro Bowl level. I wish we could've kept him, but wasn't in our price range.

2013 looks like a panacea by comparison. That defense had Ngata, Graham, and McPhee. This one doesn't even compare.

Panacea is a fit word.

We've given away too many valuable veterans.  Its further indication of our evaluation failures.

Its time.

Can't gut the team because of one bad year.

But I agree with the Boldin assessment. He was essentially cut over $2 million. With that two million we got Huff, Spears, Canty, and Stokely. How many of those guys will be on the team next year?

Yes the defense was horrible, but I am very concerned as to why we were playing for OT. First and goal and your content with 3 rather than put the Browns away. Made me sick.

Losing Ngata will prove a good thing. Without the picks we garnered from his being traded, Maxx williams would be a steeler.

We just have up over 400 yards to a Browns QB. Everyone's injuried. What now?

Lol....10 days to prepare for the Browns, and a home game. I saw a lot of talk about being 3-3 after lowly Cle & SF.

I said a few weeks ago the Browns aren't that bad. If it weren't for Tomlin thinking Mike Vick was 24 not 37, we'd be 0-5.

I'd bet there's going to be a shakeup soon. We're not even close to meeting expectations for this season and Bisciotti's not happy. Heads will be rolling soon, and I legitimately think Pees's head is coming soon.

Agreed with this. I'm not big on Trestman either, but I don't think he's going anywhere.

And looking at Detroit...can anyone say Ngata would be the difference for us? We had him last year and our secondary still cost us games.

It's just super annoying that every game this year is a repeat of the San Diego game from last year. I'd rather them get blown out so I don't get my hopes up.

Huff didn't last but a game.  Spears maybe one more.

You're obviously watching closely.

It makes one scratch one's head.

Want to use harsher words for that mismanagement, but will defer.

Absolutely, but these are the tough calls, really above our pay grades...and also above the pay grades of ours making those poor decisions lately.

In regard to the Lion's effort today, take a look at Stafford.

The real fun begins in two weeks when we got to play the Cardinals.

We have held leads six times this season, and we have blown all six leads and lost every game we had the lead before the final buzzer. 0-2 at home, 0-2 when we score 30+, 0-1 when we hold our opponent under 20. Penalties... That's the bad.

The good, we have nothing left to lose. We should have no fear taking risks, trying new things, playing anyone and everyone willing to suit up, finding out if anything works.

This is something I'm hoping we really do.  Throw the young guys in there and see what happens.  Tray Walker may be raw as hell, but what's the harm in getting him some experience at this point?  He's a guy that needs coaching and there's no better way to do that than giving him some game tape for coaches to evaluate to see what he can do and what he needs to fix.  That's just one example.  There are a lot of young guys that I'd rather see out there taking some lumps, but learning at the same time.
