The good, bad and ugly vent Browns at Ravens.

You're always complaining about about fans pointing out Flacco's mistakes. It's always "stop blaming Flacco with you."

For a good reason.

Firstly, McCown is not a bad QB. He lead the Bears two years ago and far outplayed Cutler, until the playoffs when Trestman put an injury healed Cutler back in. Big Mistake. I was worried about McCown He's smart. He knows where the defensive holes are and he found them to the tune of 21 second half points and an overtime where they put 3 up. We were DEFENSELESS. Did you watch that embarrassment?

So when you call for silencing Raven fans that can't stand this type of effort, just keep in mind what you're really asking.

The Bears never went to the playoffs with Trestman.

and the problem with pees too is hes giving too many exotic blitzes... he thinks this secondary is top notch and its not... thats what we have to be to throw that many crazy blitzes... yea were getting alot of sacks but at that same time it doesnt seem like it because this blitz schemes dont work 100 percent especially in the secondary

This is the most concerning thing of the day, though.

Ā

Ravens injury toll after loss: Dumervil (groin), Forsett (ankle), W.Davis (knee), Waller (concussion), Webb (hamstring).

why concerning? seasons over. probably a blessing. these *knock on wood* hopefully not too serious injuries could get us a better draft pick.

Good Job,

Ā

I stand corrected...that was Lovie Smith.......it was more years back. 2010.Ā

Flacco is responsible for 3 TDs today and one of his biggest critics isn't roasting him right now. He was fine. Just because he's not a good fantasy QB doesn't mean he can't do this. Flacco alone is not capable of winning games. Very few QBs can. He needs a defense as football is a team sport. If we had a defense we'd be a playoff team.

If we had Defense we are in the championship game last year as well.

i dont think flacco played well today

Ā

Considering who he had at receiver I thought he managed pretty well. Ā He made some good throws and he definitely missed some also. Ā Trestman hammered the run in the second half and got very predictable in his play calling later in the game. Ā I give Flacco credit for not turning it over and producing 3 touchdowns with not much help at receiver or tight end

I like his blitzing that he has been doing more lately, but you are right that the secondary cannot hold up its end. Ā I cannot believe I am saying this but we really missed Webb after he got hurt. Ā People can say what they want and I think he is overpaid at this point, but Webb has been playing pretty well this year considering everyone wrote him off at the beginning of the year

I saw joe flacco stare down kamar on a crucial third down on a deep route in the 4th quarter when marlon was running wide open the whole time... i saw joe not move his feet at all to avoid pass rush... these are things joe has always struggled with and quite frankly they are easy things to fix...

Ā

What he's trying to do is manufacture a pass rush because we can't get ANY pressure rushing 4 without Suggs and Doom. Even with extra blitzers we weren't getting pressure and it left guys wide open. But what an intelligent DC would've done is ADJUST and realized that sending extra blitzers isn't creating the effect you had hoped so instead we need to start going to max coverage.

Ā

Force McCown to make the right read over and over, make him have to be accurate on tight throws, give him that room for error. When you blitz extra bodies and the pressure never arrives you are leaving guys open, no QB is going to miss that read or make a bad throw with a guy so wide open. Pees would just not move on from the blitzing, we didn't have the personnel to execute them effectively and just gave the game away in single coverage trying manufacture a pass rush.

Get over it?

Ā

We'll see ...........I'm predicting Oz is out. Please god help the Ravens and let it be so.

Ā

Hopefully Bisciotti recognizes this team is degrading.Ā  If not, he can always cash his Shared Revenue Salary Cap checks.

I do think this season could allow Ozzie to retire gracefully . He's done well for us but I don't see us competing for a while .

We have no playmakers and will need to retool . I guess Ray Lewis's saying our window was about done on tv was correct .

Terrence Brooks looked very fast today and was around the ball a lot when he was on the field. We ran the ball well. Not much else I want to say

Ā

That's a very true statement. We haven't heard much of this on threads. Flacco doesn't roll out to run or buy more time for WR's to get open. He always seems to make a read or two and just throw it down to the ground or away at the sideline. There's nothing wrong with throwing it away but cmon give the play a shot. Guys like Luck, Brady and Wilson move around and try to make a play out of nothing. Flacco won't always do that.

Webb had been coming along. When that Interception was negated and he went out we caved.Ā  It wasn't going real good before that though.

Ā

Webb hasn't been the problem.Ā  The problem has been an overall Talent Degradation.Ā You can't hit the QB like you could when he drafted our former stars.Ā  YouĀ can't hit the receivers like you once could.Ā  The problem is our evaluators are not in tune to what makes the modern secondary.Ā  You couldn't illustrate it any better than the no hands Elam selection.Ā

Ā

It doesnt' matter now....just want a good draft position and the right Front Office making the decisions. Its time to rebuild.

Feel that an identity has to be somehow established. Easier to talk about doing than it is to do but I have felt for a while(even last year), that this team is a bit of a Frankenstein lacking in both leadership and personality. There are veteran guys who have been with the team that have never felt like Ravens to me.(Canty and even Dumervil, for example).

i don't recall seeing a Ravens defense so lacking teeth and unsure of itself. Let's face it, if there is a team with a lesser WR corps than us, it would be Cleveland and they flat owned us. Something is amiss systemically.

to be honest i cant tell if you are agreeing or disagreeing with my post the problem and this was by far the biggest mistake pees made this season... 3rd down and 5 overtime there at the 30, upshaw looks to be covering the BLOCKING TIGHT END Jim Dray... terrence is sent on a blitz turns out will is covering dray and upshaw goes on a blitz... dray gets a good 6 yard free release and mccown knows it right away making the read and sealing the deal practically... if that doesnt highlight why i dont like him and these blitzes i dont know what will... i get it he wants pass rush and the stats are saying hes succeeding but at this point i would rather just send 4 or 5 and just play 6 or 7 back like we did at denver and dominate in the back end

I can recall two third down penalties for stops that breathed new life into the Browns. Without them theĀ RavenĀ probably win. Just saying that there were so many ways the team lost this game.

and guess what happens when he goes on designed roll out plays.... hes successful normally its a play to juice or the tight end and they get yac yards... that why we were so successful last year... thats why he was hardly touched last year

Ozzie has his share of the blame, but he alone isn't the problem. I think you can blame him for not bringing back a guy like Graham, but I'll give him that one. If anything, perhaps he's guilty of being too patient.

We all praised Ozzie this offseason for his moves. Many people saying he's done I'm sure also called the secondary likely to be improved. Someone is at fault here, and while I don't think Pees is exclusively at fault, I think it's time for him to go. I don't think the defense can play any worse. The guys didn't even stop the run effectively at the end of the game. They have no heart, and I don't see Pees as a players' coach. I think that could be what's missing here.

Our biggest problem has been draft position. We have always been in the back end since 08. With a high pick number in each round next year, Ozzie can pin his ears back and get us some real talent infused.

I can;t blame Ozzie. The team just can't get in sync. One week it's offense. The other weeks it's defense. Then you have young players. Then you have injuries. What can ya do? :-/

Come on guys and gals lets stop pointing fingers at different players or suggesting anything other than what the real problems is. It's the FO and coaching staff. It's time to reboot Ozzie's wizardy is old and it just doesn't work anymore. Harbaugh is losing controlĀ of the locker room. Trestman is a joke as an OC-He couldn't do it in Chicago and he can't do it here. Pee's the way he sits in the booth and calls his ridiculous defensive schemes. The reason he sits up there is because he is too bloated to walk the sidelines. We got grandpa Ozzie, out of touch Harbaugh, the caricature Trestman and chubby Pees. Come on man
