[News] Joe Flacco Wants To Cut Down On Turnovers

38 posts in this topic

There are a number of factors in this and not all are in Joe's control. O-line needs to keep him upright so he isn't getting smacked around and hurried into anticipation/desperation throws. He needs to set his feet and give his receivers a chance with pretty passes. He keeps throwing off his back foot which makes for inaccurate passes. The receivers need to be on their spot when Joe throws the ball. Unfortunately we have a lot of unproven guys out there right now. We would all like to see fewer turnovers but a lot needs to go right.

I posted a comment a couple days ago saying how Flacco just needs to basically have better ball protection, and I got like 5 negative votes on that comment. Some of you guys (fellow fan members on this site) don't like to hear the truth. Flacco is a great QB at times, his only problem is ball security because we all know he gets non-chalant at times.

A game without an interception would be just fine for starters.

Ravensfansince03 I had to Neg you just for the fun of it but your right and Joe knows it and elite don't have that issue as often as he does.

what really ticks me off, is Flacco always seems to throw off his back foot. And alot of those times pressure isn't in his face. He could have so much more zip if his feet were set, I'm not blaming joe for the losses but if his feet were set in denver, he would have had more zip on the last INT and stewart wouldnt have made the pick and a PI at worst woulda been called, and against OAK he wouldn't have underthrew aiken who was wide open down field, nor would he have led SSS out of bounds on the play were SSS couldn't get both feet down.

Well I guess you still can't be critical of Joe and not get negged. At any rate we all know what 'playoff Joe' can do, at this critical point in the season 'playoff Joe' needs to show up now or the season is over.

The offensive line simply has to play better. Joe's been thrashed as of late, and unfortunately his play drops off a cliff when he's under consistent pressure.

Phil Simms on NFL Insider talked about how the Packers, Patriots, Cards and Falcons have avoided QB TO's by virtually eliminating the pass rush. The QB gets rid of the ball quick. They're not always looking for the big gain, but are smartly taking what the defense gives them. Precisely what Brady did last year against the Ravens. Obviously this requires teamwork. But it does also tell us something about the impact on the secondary.

In the Pitt game, Joe had 3 seconds or more, of no pressure whatsoever on MOST of his pass plays. (I went back and checked). QB's aren't going to consistently get much more than that. We need clean routes and accurate passes at the cut. Forsett would also have a lot more yards if our guys would stay on their blocks until the whistle. (See SSS)

All these things are fixable but will they? That is the question.

Average Joe: "It's pretty easy". Apparently not, Joe. You sure make it look very tough sometimes.

Agreed!!!!!!

Imagine if we got the Joe for all 16 games that showed up during the TB game last year?

Yeah me too, I said Flacco needs to stop turning the ball over and got like 6 negs.

Nahhh.....negs are a badge of honor. Purple kool aide chuggin' fans hate the truth. Especially when you get under the skin of a Flacco worshipper. Now, that's fun.

Joe Flacco wants to cut down turnovers. Joe Flacco wants some legitimate WRs so he has reliable targets....not Aiken and Brown.

I look around the NFL... Joe would gladly take Big bens WR crew,Tom Shadys crew,Definitely Daltons crew, Matt Ryans crew.. 95% of the NFL better WR cores then Flacco

Oz WW NEED HELP! Do something

Joe needs to get to the line a bit faster, read the defense and adjust his offense accordingly....i think he should work on his feet when making progressions

to many times i see him oblivious to a last second person running up to the line and his throw is hurried.

we need to be taking advantage of marlon brown and darren wallers size, if flacco can place the ball at the right spot against shorter CBs it would probably be successful

tresman still has alot to prove with his play calling IMO

sucks that flacco cant have any consistency with offensive play makers and O-coordinators

gary come back!

You do realize that he is waiting for the play to be called in and they are not just standing around just letting the play clock run down for no reason.  They need to do a better job of play calling.

Don't force it Joe. If the WR's can't get separation take the sack or throw it away. I'm sure Flacco is trying to do whatever possible to get some wins and make things happen. But Be patient and make good decisions, and that will get your more wins. Go Bake to basics, proper footwork and technique and you'll move the chains.

Joe, FYI....Sandlot Football 101-When carrying the ball up the left sideline tuck the ball to your left....don't hold it exposed on the right hand side of your body.

I am a Flacco fan that being said he has made some real doozies this season. The good thing is he knows it and wants to work it out.

One of the many things I appreciate about Joe is his absolute honesty. In a world where so many athletes are jerks and never take personal accountability, Joe stands up and owns his mistakes. He ain't perfect....and either are any of us. But I am proud of our QB.
