Week 5 Discussion (Other Teams)

325 posts in this topic

How are we already five weeks into the season? Crazy that it takes forever for the offseason to get through but once the season it comes, it goes by fast. Anyway, this season so far has been a dud it seems. Not much to get excited over and the games have been pretty bad with a few good games sprinkled in. This week is no different, I mean who wants to watch possibly a Luck-less Colts play the very bad Texans on Thursday Night Football?

Key Games(Or I will try to find some because this week is pretty bad)

Colts @ Texans: The AFC South is the worst division in the NFL by far, Colts lead the division at 2-2, followed by the Titans at 1-2, Texans and Jaguars at 1-3 through 5 weeks. IF by chance Luck doesn't play and Houston somehow wins, while Tennessee pulls off the win against Buffalo and Jaguars beat the Bucs. Titans would lead the division at 2-2, while Houston/Indy/Jacksonville would all be 2-3.

Patriots @ Cowboys: This game had so much hype, first Br*dy wasn't going to be playing, now he is playing. Greg Hardy wasn't supposed to be playing but now he is playing. You had Br*dy and Edleman on one side vs Romo/Dez, who are now both injured and not playing.

Broncos @ Raiders: I'm putting this here only because it seems Oakland is starting to turn things around and could pull off the upset. Raiders are 2-2 looking to give Denver it's first loss of the season.

AFC North:

Seahawks @ Bengals: Apparently Andy Reid wasn't motivated enough to score enough TDs last week. Something tells me Russell Wilson and co will be quite different. Also Andy Dalton, meet the Legion of Boom. Finally we get some help and Seattle knocks the Bengals back into reality.

Steelers @ Chargers: East coast team going to the west coast without their starting QB. Steelers can't find a kicker to save their season, while the Chargers kicker kicked a game winning FG last week. I say this will be a pretty big week for us, we win and both Steelers and Bengals lose.

I'm optimistic about, but in no way counting on, a Bengals loss. Seattle still hasn't shown up on offense, or won on the road. They should win, but they'll have to step up from where they've been to do it.

San Diego, on the other hand, better freaking win. No excuse for them if they blow this one at home to Vick.

Houston game might get interesting with Luck still feeling that throwing shoulder and Hasselbeck now ill. Then again, it's Mallett with a sprinkle of Hoyer on the other side so who knows?

I'm not holding my breath for SD, think Steelers win this one.

Bit of trivia on the Lions, this is the 8th season in which they are the last team in the league to get a win. It's currently a record, though a record they'd likely gladly give away.

This is going to be a home game for the Steelers. It usually is when a popular away team visits SD.

I wasn't sure who to pick for tonight. I didn't know which team's QB would play good enough to actually win the game. It seems Luck will miss his second straight game, and while Hasselbeck is expected to start, he won't be healthy. Schefter reports that Hasselbeck is still feeling the effects of a virus that kept him in the emergency room until 2:00a.m Tuesday morning. If for some reason Hasselbeck has to miss the game, Josh Johnson would start for the Colts.

Im going to take the Texans. Defense got slaughtered last week and I'm thinking their pride returns tonight. Also Arian Foster fully healthy. If the Texans lose this at home with a chance to make the race interesting then their done.

I think the Texans realize that this is their chance to possible take the division. The Colts haven't been all that good this season and now they're probably at their weakest. The Texans are going to go all out to win this game, and I think they'll do it.

My fantasy team would be beast if it was 2010...

Let me guess. 2 of your wr's are Andre Johnson and Larry Fitz?

Peyton calvin and sproles. My team honestly to me doesn't look bad on paper but I can't get consistent production from my top picks and I go against bad match ups at the worst times.

Anyone else expecting a stellar football game tonight?

Waiting for both sides to put on a clinic.

Crazy to look at the Texans and think they were legit contenders just a few years ago.

Crazy to think Texans fans thought Matt Schaub was better than Flacco. Look at the QB situations of both sides now.

Really?

I remember Texans fans used to come here and talk a really big game about him. They went remarkably quiet after his run of pick-sixes.

Can Goodell please try to explain why Thursday Night Football every week is a good thing? I mean if anything this just proves it's a dumb idea that needs to end this season.

I actually don't mind TNF games that much. It's nice to put a game on in the background while I work on a Friday.

Something tells me Vinatieri's FG is a sign that like last week, a Kicker will determine who wins this game.

Andre Johnson better do something tonight. Fantasy bust so far.

Yeah I am giving him one more chance due to 2 of my WRs having byes. He has been terrible this year though, thankfully had Ginn in over him last week

I'm

Surprised you guys still have him rostered. I couldn't imagine a scenario where you start him.
