[News] Late For Work 10/7: Trade Speculation On WRs Roddy White, Golden Tate

93 posts in this topic

i think tate would be better to have because white is complaining that he is not getting the ball and also he should not complain since his team is 4-0. with tate he has the ravens attitude that he wants to win at any means like when we had boldin for couple of season.

With the way that Coach Brooks rotates the D-Linemen, the label of starter for Jernigan isn't really important.  If you look at their snap count they all pretty much avg the same amount of plays.  I'm more concerned w/ who's in at the end of the game when it matters than who actually starts.

For what I have read and heard, Tate not a very good teammate. There is a reason that he left Seattle.IDK

The quotes from the two tradeable receivers might be torn out of context, but based on those, please not Roddy White! Seems to have attitude issues. We don't need no primadonna. It's not comparable to the talk SSS has, because if you look at him, sure, he makes plenty catches, but when he doesn't he blocks like if his life depended on it, probably screaming "I'm Marshall Yanda!" in his head. Blocking is important and those players on the field that aren't currently carrying the ball need to learn to do it well and with pleasure. Good blocks are what helps yardage. Tate has a better attitude (based on the quotes in the article only), Ravens hate losing too. However, I doubt either will happen.

Timmy Jernigan might have fallen to Carl Davis for two reasons:

1. Durability - he has had some issues with minor injuries

2. Discipline - the late hit on Derek Carr might have lost us the game. And it wasn't accidental or an oops error, that was deliberate.

Apart from that, I like Timmy a lot. It's good that he has solid competition, it will make him earn his position in the line-up.

The hit on Carr is a very good point. It was VERY late. Coach may have been rather ticked off at him. This may be a punishment, with the hope that it inspires him when he returns to starting.

I don't like Roddy for different reasons and what he's saying in ATL is what Derrick Mason said here. The good thing is that he wants the ball and we need someone to catch the ball. I'm 50/50 on him.

Why?! The Ravens aren't "UTILIZING" the WRs they have now correctly to the best of their abilities! Another wide out will just be taking up space!

so basically they are saying jernigan is another cody. if that happens than ozzie has dropped the ball lately in these drafts

The problem is that we haven't actually figured out what abilities, if any, those WRs have...

Sitting at 4-0 I think White can sit back and see what happens this year. I just don't EVER see a receiver coming here when Joe is not very accurate. Especially the AFC North with their reputation of hitting. No smart one.

They will find out this week now they don't have the security blanket Smith.

Although it's obvious that Ozzie is on a WR quest, it wouldn't surprise me of Ozzie comes up with some acquisition that isn't even on the radar yet. I have learned to expect the unexpected as well. Excited to see what or who this next move is. I still think that a few of our TE's and/or WR's are going to rise to the occasion and come through for this offense.

When both Steve and Camp went down last week, Aiken and Waller both stepped up with key grabs. We picked up Givens, who is a burner. Let's calm down and see what develops this week. I know Oz may be looking to see what might be available, but he's not one to pull the trigger quick. Which is a good thing (SEE DAN SNYDER).

hahahaha any other names BR.com would like to throw out there? Speculation and BS

Why put it on BR.com? Read the article, the information came from LaCanfore and Schefter. They just shared that information . Geez.

Can't even compare the two w/ a straight face IMO. When has anyone raved about Cody's skills?

No way, Jernigan's a better athlete than Cody,... he's just immature!

Based on his comments I don't think White either cares about 4-0 or he feels it wont continue.  You're right, why would a guy complain when his team in 4-0 and he has a good shot at the playoffs.  But he is and he does.  Clearly his comment to me means winning is nice, but I want to be involved in the offense.  Joe may be inaccurate at times, but at times he is one of the best QB's in the league, has a nice soft touch on his balls, and he can sling the ball downfield.  For a receiver who is unhappy at 4-0, I can see those things being an enticement for him.  Especially, when he would come in and be a virtual #1 receiver.  If he wants involved in an offense, if he came to Baltimore, he is almost assuredly going to be a major contributor.

If you say Ozzie dropped the ball, Hoe do you explain Carl Davis? Obviously Ozzie didn't drop the ball in getting depth.

Kinda feel bad for Easton being shipped around so much his rookie year, but the kid is clearly darn good. I doubt Ozzie will make another trade for a WR, if he does I'd say White is on the table, I doubt Tate is after his year last year.

That trade speculation for Tate or White sounds amazing!! Cant even lie, I know Tate would love to be with a team like us, and it would be exciting to watch Joe with a weapon like Roddy White.

We got Jernigan at the end of the 2nd round, where he was considered a "steal" by most of the draft analysts. He could have been first round, except for the consistency issues discussed here, as well as "character" issues from when he failed a drug test at the combine.

I can only hope he learns to keep that motor on high at all times, for our sake and for his.
