[News] Za'Darius Smith Steps Up Intensity In Two-Sack Game

33 posts in this topic

I noticed Maclellen lost containment several times allowing Vick to slip outside for a first down. His days will be numbered if he keeps that up, especially with Z and Babin wanting playing time.

McClellan is done. He will remain on the roster bc he can plan inside, outside and ST but... WIth Z playing well as a pass rusher and Upshaw able to set an edge. WIth ABrown on the inside... With Orr and co on ST... McClellan becomes very expendable. Especially with the addition of Babin! Love to see Z out producing Bud Dupree! Love it!

Back to back sacks by the same player is superb. Outstanding effort. Keep working hard Z. Smith

Babin had 7 defensive snaps. He was a healthy scratch the two games before that. I would rather ditch Babin, use Arthur Brown if we need another pass rusher and bring Butler up from the practice squad. Butler had a great off season but stumbled a bit in preseason games. Perhaps he could be a producer in a real game and he definitely has speed as well. He can also do return work. Just thinking out of the box for a bit just to go through the exercise of reviewing the options.

No doubt about it. Browns been consistently active for once in his life might as well use him.

Read an article on Russell st Report, few days back which broke down Babin 7 Snaps on defense.. And how Babin was taking double teams which freed up Zdarius Smith for his Sacks. So Hell NO! Babin doesnt need to go. If anything they need to up he snap count to 15-20..because at 35 Babin still has respect of the NFL and demands double teams.. Something Sizzle did...which frees up other sackers. He is producing so far.

You want to cut someone..byebye Marlon Brown. Aiken atleast shows ability to sometimes catch and run, Brown 6'5 and plays like hes 5ft with butterfinger hands

Flacco needs to make it a habit to throw the ball away when the pocket is collapsing. And learn how to slide smh. Watch the video above and you guys will see for yourself.

I was agreeing with you until you said to cut Marlon brown smh. Marlon is good and has made big plays for this offense. Antonio Brown even had a big drop in that game.  heck I even remember Steve Smith dropping some passes. So I'm still sticking with my guy M.Brown. If they cut him who will Flacco throw to!!!! At least he stays healthy. And Aiken just started getting into the motion, so don't fall head over heels just yet.

I don't know how Dupree is doing for the Steelers, but I'm sure the Steelers scouting department didn't feel very good that our 4th round pick from the same college as Dupree got 2 sacks against them and perhaps may be the better of the 2! Go Zadaurius!

Z looked like a beast out there. He had high praise in preseason too and has continued his progress which is what ever coach loves. If Suggs' career ends up being truncated by this 2nd Achillies injury I hope that Z's production starts to look like Suggs' from a few years ago. Time will tell how consistent his is and how much more he'll progress, but I love what I see so far.

Za'darius Smith will be another bright spot in this Ravens Defense. Only a matter of time and he will start thinking less and becoming a lot more instinctive. He has tremendous speed/quickness and raw born with skill. Z.Smith has a high ceiling i think

Dupree is playing very well for the Steelers and you would be hard pressed to find many that would say Z Smith is better than Dupree at this point.

Well, both are in a back up role now and both have 2 sacks, but Dupree has twice the tackles in 4 games (12 vs 6 for Z).  Dupree, however, has 60 more snaps than Z - almost double.  Their output is pretty close - not bad for the value of a 1st vs 4th rounder.

suggs was injured halfway through week 1 and ZDS and upshaw have split reps since, with ZDS getting a very solid snap count. the thing is, he was a handful for his blockers, his strength and violent play were on display quite often, and if people paid attention they could see that he is gonna become something good for us, but people dont pay attention and call him a bust because he hasnt lit up the stat sheet.

McClennen missed Bell's foot and he ran 30 yards for the score.

Z. Smith was a great draft pick who will develop into that player that we all look forward to cheering for on Sundays.

He looked fantastic against Steelers. I loved the speed, which helped contain Vick and Bell and also good hands and good reactions.

Smith did a great job getting to the QB...although he did have all the time in the world to do so because the secondary blanketed the Stillers' receivers.
