[News] Injury Updates On Breshad Perriman, Steve Smith Sr., Crockett Gillmore

80 posts in this topic

I'm just going to say it, 'I don't think Perriman sees any game action this year!' Also, I wouldn't expect SSS to be back for a month or so. I too, hope we can pick up Alshon Jeffery. He is a reliable receiver and I can see Flacco benefiting from having a reliable receiver. If we did pick him up, I don't know how we'd act! Not discounting Sr., just that he's out for a while, now.

Getting Crockett back will be great. Also this team is going to win out the next 2 games at least. I can feel it, my guts feel it. And my gut feeling has never wronged me. I honestly had a bad gut feeling before that Oakland game, but I refused to believe we would lose. Regardless I have us winning this game no matter what.

Ravens have more injuries than anyone in the league what is with that? Its time to look at the strength and conditioning coach something has to change maybe the culture of working out or fitness this is just too much.

On almost every good defensive team you see this season, there is an ex raven on the defense. Watching this Detroit vs Seattle game. Cary Williams covering Calvin Johnson for Seattle & Haloti Ngata as his usual dominant mean & strong No-BS type of DT for the Lions.

Frankly I don't want to hear about player injuries from the Ravens. I'm tired of BS and it's mostly the same crew.

Injuries are as much a part of football day to day, as TD's, fumbles....etc....it happens. Sometimes it's us, sometimes others....but complaining about strength coaches and workout routines is crazy...IMHO.

Someone said on this blog..."we play who we have....and let's see. " I agree with that thought, with some minor tweaks.

Chasing after high priced talent makes no financial sense....let us not forget that our FO has consistently produced a winning team......we should stop trying to be GM's.....cause you aren't

I trust our FO to resolve these issues going forward.....and still maintain the integrity of our cap dollars...and get us to the PLay Offs

In the real world if your only job is to fix a problem  and you don't  you get demoted or fired and a 8-8 will not get in the playoffs. Ever here of sayiing "you can't see the forest from the trees?"

I agree with another poster that said that our other WR are used to SSsr taking the receptions and targets. When Marlon knew he had to step up, he did. This season there are so many others (before last Thurs. game) that he really did not feel the urgency that he should have. Maybe now he will find that inner spark again and be the receiver we know he can be. I think that all of the WRs and TEs that will be playing will feel that extra weight to get it done. I see us winning on Sunday and being surprised at how good our guys do.

Hope Gilmore comes back this week. He looked to be productive before this calf injury. Canty is done after this year. He's gone.

I am hoping for Crockett to come back this week as well..... He sure was a lot of fun to watch tonight at Purple Evening lip-syncing on stage to Shania Twain's "I feel like a woman" !!!! He definitely has some moves, lol !! :)

On Perriman, "That's when you will know he's got a CHANCE to come back and play. There is a fly in the ointment. The Ravens are going to go on just fine with or without him. He has the talent, and we all hope he gets the chance to show it for as long as he wants.

As many healthy players we can get entering that game the better. Cleveland will definitely give us all they've got, but we have the better roster; we just need to play like it. My hopes is with the extra time we've had after the Thursday game that we can rest and put together a gameplan to dominate.

I pray I check this site later after I wake, and I find out Ozzie picked up a additional WR! Either Hakeem Nicks, or traded late pick for Boldin, or someone.

We need help... Aiken,Brown wont cut it as 1,2 WR Options

The truest sign of how desperate our current WR situation is that we are putting all our trust and hope in a guy who's never even had one single snap in the NFL...

I don't see it as putting all our trust and hope in one guy, but Perriman's presence can help everyone else slide to their more natural role. SSS won't have to carry an unrealistic workload. Aiken and Marlon, who have struggled as starters, could go back to being #3 and #4 receivers, where they have been solid. Perriman's speed could get us some big plays and open up things for the run game and our TEs over the middle.

So, Perriman doesn't have to be a savior or even a pro bowl caliber player if/when he returns this year. He just needs to play his role and add a speed/playmaking threat, and, like I said, that will help everyone else play their natural role, and we could be a very good offense. And it's not like we're just missing one guy. We're missing our top 2 WRs and top 2 TEs.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, or if it's practical. Why not put the "all-time slowest" PCL healer on IR, get him totally healthy for next year, and bring Butler on board? With this deteriorating WR corps, it seems unwise to waste a roster spot for who knows how long.

No need to rush anyone "next man up" if Perriman isn't ready this season kool because unlike some I feel we didn't need a WR any how in the draft with the talent we have already they are not being utilized correctly and Triple " S " and Crockett can be ready just in time for the run! Joe needs to do more pump fakes which a WR can do double moves and Marlon can use his size and speed to create separation and burn the pants off a secondary! LETS GO!
