[News] Joe Flacco Reacts To Wide Receiver Losses

87 posts in this topic

Ozzie go sign Hakeem Nicks who is better then both Aiken, and Brown 27 yrs young. Vet minimum. Or go make a trade mid to late round pick for boldin, Jeffrey, someone of quality.

Smith sr out with broken ribs, Perriman no timetable, Givens is a nice replacement for Campanaro.. But you cant run Aiken, and Brown out there as a 1,2 WR and be good. Go bring in someone.

Also activate Pitta week 6. Dude wants to play. We need as many weapons as humanly possible is were going to turn this around. Throw him in the slot..

Come on... We need help

Without SSS starting for the first time and our backs against the wall at 1-3, it's time that some of our young offensive players rise to the occasion. Whether it be TE"s or WR's, I am betting that some will internalize the situation and come through for us with tremendous effort, and hopefully, some stand-out performances.

Need another receiver ASAP, even if SSS is back in a week or so, he will not be able to play at the level he has for the entire season. They broke the mold when they made SSS!

Camp also has a touchdown as a WR it's not just Aiken and Smith, although you maybe referring to healthy WR's

I don't know what else Joe could have said. Of course he isn't going to stand there and say "We're going to stink the place up with this motley crew of WRs."

I think increased playing time for waller will help him become a great receiver, Its sad though that Marlon Brown hasnt been able to make plays like he did as a rookie. He caught nearly everything he had thrown to him. Now he's dropping passes that hit him in the hands.

If the Ravens struggle to get a run game going against Cleveland, expect a long and painful afternoon. Givens runs a 4.41 forty, that's just slightly faster than Torrey. I say we take a couple of deep shots to this guy early and try to get that speed noticed. Could open up the tight ends tight ends.

The writer specified TD receptions, which Campanaro has none.

WOW Ravens power ranking is at 22, below Detroit that's 0-3. Minus -3 in takeaways. Cleavland is the most sacked, most fumbling team.

So true he has to keep the confidence in the other players up. Joe cant just throw them under the bus. I do however hope with SSS out another WR steps up and takes control. I know that could be a long shot or just plain wishful hope because so far NONE of the WR's on this team with exception of SSS have played lights out and can get enough separation constantly.

Marlon doesnt jump for the ball, doesnt have strong hands

Kamar cant get open, we cant see his 4.4 speed

Darren just hasnt had the ball thrown to him high enough

bottom line we need someone ASAP

I have to believe that Aiken and Marlon Brown know that this is their big shot and maybe their last. They could be starting side by side against the Browns so I know they are working hard on their craft. Unfortunately, nothing they can do in one week will make them considerably better and they are what they are. Aiken has potential but he just doesn't have the speed or quickness to get separation and typically relies on formation or pattern to get open. But he does have the hands. Brown is bigger, is a little more successful in getting separation but his hands have turned to stone. If either or both come out and perform in Cleveland and Givens can get in to stretch the field on a couple plays then the team may not go out and get another receiver. But if the team implodes this weekend, the FO has to go looking, not only to save this season, but to prepare for next season because if Aiken and Brown don't produce, I don't look for them to be on the squad next year.

These young guys need perfect ball from Joe all the time; he can't throw wobbling balls like Manning and hope his WRs go up and snap it out of the air.....

Don't forget our corps of TE's...  We have a few of those guys that can impress too.

You are right Mom Gene, but they are going to have to get creative with it. Williams and Boyle both have shown they can catch another person who has soft hands is "Juice" Its just like I said before they have to get creative with it not all these guys have top end speed.

The last time we played a game w/out SSS was the 2013 season and that's when Marlon Brown was pretty effective. Ironically he was thrust into action that year because of injuries at the WR position.  Hopefully he can be as effective now as he was in 2013. He definitely has another chance to prove himself this week.

You know anything about Crockett Gilmore? All I heard was a calf injury and no more details since. I will feel a WHOLE lot more confident if Gilmore is in the mix. Gilmore is capable of some very big plays and we could really use him out on the field asap.

Ok, another article here said Camps injury not necessarily season ending. Here this article says "he's not coming back"...which is it? I hope the former and not the latter.

Why aren't we looking at Welker?

I know he's one concussion away from retirement but it doesn't hurt to bring him cheap at this point if he is willing. He will be the best route runner on our squad without a doubt and Joe could use him for the timing routes.

After reading through the above article, the ground game better not have a let down. Forsett, Taliaferro and Allen

have to move the chains. I understand that the Browns have a weak defensive line. I hope it shows.

Because he is "on the back nine" of his career...  He's old, hasn't been very good at holding on to the ball his past few years dropping several key passes....  AND has had mounting concussion issues...

Its gonna be rough.. but they will adjust... just like they did Thursday... these guys are pros... Trestman will earn his keep this week with his game plan... cause the Browns will put 8 in the box to stop the run.. that's the biggest thing... got to get creative.. will be interesting to see how they adjust... the Bills had a similar situation this weekend... fortunately for us the Browns have their own woes... if we can stop their run game we too have a chance..
