Ravens Make the Playoffs? (Merged)

The BEST possible outcome for this season is a 8-8 record, 8-8 teams don't deserve to be in the playoffs. I'd rather get into the playoffs off of merit, no because every other team is awful. If we make the playoffs this year the only thing we'd get out of it would be an embarrassing blowout and a "one and done Bengals" like playoff performance. And we'd lose out on a good pick.

All of which would be more preferable to me than winning 4-8 games

If we were to make it into the playoffs, then I think we deserve the spot. Climbing out of a 1-5 hole just to make it is impressive. Never count a team out once they make it to the playoffs though, anything can happen. Not saying we will, but playoffs are a whole new ballgame.

and that's probably the last trend or streak we still have intact. This team under Harbs has never been one and done. That would end ASAP if we make it with this defense.

We had a chance with 2 games that were set up favorably for wins. The Browns and 49ers games were blown opportunities.

But in the NFL if you can't put 4 quarters together or get all 3 phases clicking at the same time, you don't win. We haven't accomplished either all season.

Unfortunately there's absolutely nothing to indicate that will change. The only reason I think we can beat Arizona is, every year even the worst teams eventually play well in 1 or 2 games.

You'd think ours has to be coming some time or another. No better time than now.

Honestly, I wouldn't be upset with 8-8. That's still not a losing season. I like to win. I know it feels better to get that high pick, but I hate the idea of having a losing culture. It doesn't sit right with me. I would love to have Hargreaves, Ramsey, or Bosa or Stanley or someone like that on this team, but I'm not sure I could stomach the idea of us losing to get them. 

 

Playoffs are still mathematically possible. We need some fire on this team in order for us to get there, however.

Given who we've lost to, I don't think we can bank on other teams' issues...the AFC troubles include us.

To whom did we lose? An undefeated Broncos and Bengals team, or a surprisingly talented Oakland Raiders who are second in their division? Perhaps you mean the Browns and Niners. They're not that good, but they're certainly not push-overs, either, and one was in our own division, which is never an easy game when any division plays itself. 

 

We've lost all those games to such a small point differential, too. A little extra something somewhere would've won us each game. One less mistake probably could've won the games.

We would have to win out at home in order to have a realistic shot. I think the offense can do its job, but this defense is just dreadful.

Just stop guys!! lol, Actually If they traded for a legit #1 WR(not saying it needs to be a julio jones)or very high end ascending #2 the offense could carry the defense and actually allow the defense to be aggressive and take chances.

The oline plays intact and Monroe and Wagner returns to top form. They trade for a legit #2 WR who is ascending. Not somebody's #3 that benefits from playing next to an elite WR like Marvin Jones. Although I like Jones he is unproven when asked to be a good to guy that defenses focus on. And he would be just another game at WR position. They need to fix this WR thing right. No #3 WRs like Jones or old guys like Vincent Jackson. A legit ascending WR with good speed to partner with SS the TE's, the oline, and running game to really begin scoring points and carry the defense. If they did that I could realistically see 9-7.

Well that's not happening  and honestly I don't thinks there any receiver worth trading for at this point.

yeah pretty much the only way this season wont be a COMPLETE waste is if we capitalize a late season run, because 6 / 9 of the final games after monday night will be at M&T bank stadium. this is the only glimmer of hope. but if we lose tomorrow all bets are off. and i truly think we have a chance at upsetting the cards if we simply just play balls to the wall yet disciplined football and finish the game, because we'll be in it for the full 60 minutes for sure.

 

i think the most realistic scenario and the only way to stay "entertained" as a fan base is watching the young guys develop, perriman coming back, and possibly knocking a team or two out of playoff contention. would be awesome to sweep the steelers (with big ben starting) and crush their playoff hopes.

 

other then that, dont see much else happening so far as playoff run at this point. but ill admit if we beat AZ, after how bad the chargers looked today we may have a chance going into the bye 3-5 which could be HUGE for that late season run. only time will tell. im still tuning in every week and will continue to do so until week 17 regardless.

Every game this season has been one or two plays from a win. We are not as bad as you think. We are not as bad ashape our records would indicate.
