[News] Who Ravens Fans Should Root For In Week 4

48 posts in this topic

Not sure why people need to be told who to root for when AFC contenders play teams in the NFC. No brainer there.

I understand the thought that CIN v. KC is a toss up ... but I am still leaning toward rooting KC. Too early to concede the division, so I'd rather not see CIN getting a strangle hold. We want to see them show signs of vulnerability.

As I watch Ryan Fitzpatick- RUN at various times- for nice yardage....I suppose I will beat a dead-horse- again. QB's do WHATEVER they have to to win. We have also seen this with the other teams we have faced this year. I did notice Joe run one time out of the pocket to the sidelines against Pittsburgh. C'mon Joe- do WHATEVER you have to to win !

Wow, Garrett, you certainly are being pessimistic already! It is still very early in the season and your main goal is to be a Wild Card contender. What is wrong with trying for the Division lead, even with outside help? With your kind of attitude, the Ravens will be lucky to make the playoffs. Today it should be "Go Chiefs" and "Go Chargers!"

Yeah I'm going the other way and rooting for losses for all other AFC North teams. Browns should be the browns and beat them selves. Bengals can go get tossed once a team can expose them. Broncos are on my toss list too hopefully the Vikings can pull a stunner, watching for Emerson Griffen to get at Manning alot.

Your  statement so true balfan23 You always root for NFC teams when it is against an AFC opponent. And as far as leaning towards KC that's true too this early in the season NO-ONE is out of the playoffs yet. So in my opinion you should  go against division rivals even over conference rivals. The Steelers already lost this week and now we need the Bengals to be beat by the Chiefs and the Browns to get beat by the Chargers.

You gotta be kiddin' me with these articles. It's week four for cryin' out loud! These columns just ooze bad karma. Also, it's pretty lame to assume Ravens fans have no clue. We know who to root for, THE RAVENS!

I am not so sure why all have resigned themselves that the Bengals are a lock. Dalton has a proven track record of choking at end of the Season and especially in the playoffs. They could easily drop 4 or 5 games before the season is up....  Today's game is no cake walk and they have Cardinals, Broncos, Steelers (with Ben back most likely), Broncos, Bills, and Seahawks to face yet.....all of which are no easy prospects.  Sure, we are off to a uncharacteristic start.....but certainly not time to write the season off or even assume we only have a shot at the Wild Card.....

I am going to root for all of the projector and movie screens. Here's hoping that none burn up in overload as our squad looks at timeless films to better themselves for our next game !

What a garbage filler article. So our website already assumes we are out of the running for the division title after our 4th game? If this was week 10 or something and we were still looking up at the Bengals and Browns I could agree with pulling for them over other AFC Wild Card contenders but these teams still have 13 games to play. You'd better believe I'll be pulling for the Chargers and Chiefs this week.

Chiefs and Charges...We always want our AFC north conference teams to lose. Can't control what the Rest of the AFC is doing, but losses for Cleveland, Cinncy and Pitt are always nice.

No one wants to root for the Bengals or Browns, but with the hole we dug for ourselves, a wild card would be a more realistic goal right now. Now if the Bengals suffered some major injuries to some players like Dalton and AJ Green, it would be a different story. Not that I am wishing that on them, just stating fact.

I say lets not worry about other teams lets worry about ourselves and hope the Ravens can fill the void of 3 WR's injured and start playing better in all 3 phases of the game. Everything else will sort itself out.

I agree with most fans here, the goal is still to win a division title which is not impossible at this point. I would wait till weeks 11, 12 and so on before worrying about teams outside our division if a division title is not realistic. Right now, any division rival who loses a game is a big plus for Ravens till things shake out more clearly late in the season. The year the Ravens won the Super Bowl, they lost 4 of last 5 games, if it can happen to the Super Bowl Ravens, it is possible to happen to the Bengals. Wait it out and see what happens. Hope the Bengals and Browns lose today.

With the way our season has been going, maybe if we root for the Bengals we can jinx them. :-)

That is a good possibility... And they arent exactly beating up on the Chiefs.

Why would I root for anyone but Baltimore...? I don't understand this article. The best control we have over where we end up is winning our games. Let's do that some more and not have to rely on 'which team needs to lose,'

Sure, that's a noble mindset and all... but have you watched the Ravens play lately? It's not the team I fell in love with back in 2010. At this point they're pretty much dependent on other teams. Their performance against Pittsburgh, didn't provide me with a whole lotta confidence.

We'll see, let's start by demolishing Cleveland at home.

yeah well theres rooting for the ravens (which we are) and theres knowing that the best our team has done after an 0-2 start is go 8-8. we've never made the playoffs after an 0-2 start much less 0-3. but hey, i remember a certain run we went through after we lost key players, heres to hoping

I'm with the others here that say it is REALLY difficult to root for teams in our own division, it is still a long season..... In addition, it would also be really difficult to root against Tyrod....... :)

No way this fan will ever root for any Division rival in any game. That's just the way it is.
