[News] Newcomer Will Davis Makes Difference In Secondary

42 posts in this topic

I'm sorry, But Why Is Webb The Automatic starter? He's not the same player he once was. He gives way too much cushion, and I think it's because he's lost confidence in himself a little, or he knows he's lost a step after all the injuries. Besides, his best season came playing a lot in the slot

I think its also because Webb missed most of July and all of August. No way can he be where he would have been, had he not missed the time.

Let's see. the last two games Melvin played,he got torched by Brady and committed like 12 penalties in 4 minutes against Pittsburgh. Maybe this is the real norm for him. In that case, Davis looks like a good pick up. Hope he maintains his momentum.

Will Davis did great against Steelers, hope to see more of him once he knows more of defensive schemes. Glad he is on our team. Hope he is enjoying his time in Baltimore.

It looked like he came in and immediately understood the magnatude of the Ravens/Steelers rivalry.

Melvin showed signs of rust... he hadn't played in a month... remember the same thing happened to Webbie last year as he was getting torched is first few games back... but regained form towards the end of the season... its only natural... remember he played well in the preseason before he got hurt...

Davis did a fine job. About time we stopped playing second or third rate people in our defensive backfield. The safeties, especially Hill, did better too. It is really disappointing that the line can't pressure the quarterback. While they have done a good job stopping the run, the quarterback has way too much time. Often they don't even get a hand on him. Next two games are certainly winnable, as were the first two. If they don't win both, it is going to be tough to make the playoffs. It is tough right now as it is.

Wow! It seems that Will Davis has certainly won over our fans on here. I agree that he played well. He had a good game while he was on the field. But, let's be real here. I think it might be a little too soon to anoint him as the savior of the secondary. Nobody wants him to continue to play as well, or even better as he learns our system and his teammates, as I do. I'm with you, everybody, on that. I'm just saying that maybe we should see if he's able to continue or even progress. He's been here for one game, and it certainly was a good one. Now let's root for him to keep it up. Wouldn't it be just great if Ozzie found us another gem? After just this one game it Does look like he may have. Hope so. Go Will Davis!!!

His 1st game as a Raven, against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, on national tv, & i must say he played great! He showed excellent technique on that pass breakup! If Davis keeps playing like this, he should being a starter!!

Whats the deal with Webb? I don't think he's played bad at all. Remember he got us the pick to get us into the playoffs last year.

He isn't bad, he just isn't playing aggressive like he used to. Giving wrs way too much cushion for easy completions underneath
