Confirmed: Steve Smith has a back injury

be nice if we gave up a 2nd and 6th or something like that for  jeffery....do it ozzie..you can't draft WR's so just get one this way..

Except he's always getting hurt. We'd be in the same situation. He definitely has the talent and potential though.

Technically with Pitta injured we're actually missing our two top TEs as well.  What other QB has to play a game without his top 2 WRs, top 2 TEs, and without his LT?  That's a lot of key pieces of the puzzle missing.

It could also be mentioned that we had to cut our star RB last season, a situation that still lingers with a ton of dead money restricting us from stocking up. Then there's the whole Ngata affair - dead money and lost D-line star power.

Go Ravens, prove the doubters wrong and get the SB (for SSS)!

So with Steve out we're missing our top two WR's, no. 1 TE, starting LT, best OLB and starting DE. Sick.

I'm pretty sure Crockett will be back for the Cleveland game. Unless you've heard otherwise?

Calf injuries can take some time, it all depends on the amount of damage done.

that's true- he's a tough son of a gun though I think he"ll give it a go if they let him.

Densest muscle in the human next to the heart.  Injuries can take a while.  Strains tend to linger, but hopefully it wasn't so bad that 2 1/2 weeks won't fix it.  There's often not much to do other than ice, heat, lite stretch, maybe some ultrasound, and wait it out.

Regarding Steve's ribs/back, it's more of the same.  At the time of the injury it was painful.  The couple of next days they tend to get worse.  Lots of discomfort.  I agree he should sit vs the Browns.  Get treatment and test it out between week 5 and 6.

Well if true we will see if Joe can carry this team on his back with a bunch of terrible receivers .

If i throw you the ball 20 times and you catch it 2 times, is it my fault?

I saw a couple of videos of SSS from the Ladies Night out event last night.  He didn't look to be in any noticeable pain. Hope he only misses the Browns game.

Depends. Where were the balls thrown? To the receiver? Behind the receiver? ;)

depends on your accuracy for most part.

Is Perriman one of your 2 or you're talking about Camp?

Everyone else you listed, besides Suggs (assuming that's who you meant by best OLB) will probably play vs CLE.

Who's to say our former WRs won't be motivated to beat us???? I don't think either of the next two games will be that easy.

Outside of pre-season, have we played the 49ers since Boldin left?

Good receivers make difficult catches .

Agreed. Just like good quarterbacks can throw receivers open and also routinely hit them in stride. That pass last night from Wilson to Baldwin was beautiful!

Of 20 balls thrown your way maybe I was inaccurate 10 times. Catching 2/10 catch-able balls is terrible. I guess my point is it always looks like the Ravens WRs can't make a catch unless the pass is perfect. We don't often get the circus catches you see from other teams who constantly bail their QB out when he is in a jam. This whole "Flacco needs to make his WR's better" thing has always been silly. Peyton Manning does not make his WRs better, coaches properly surrounded him with talent he needs to win games. Only thing I can argue for Manning is he is more accurate than Flacco but again accuracy means nothing if your WRs can't get open, can't catch the ball and will not do anything beyond the norm to go up and get it.

Not much to argue here. I do believe that certain QBs elevate the play of those around them and/or make them "look" better. But none of that is quantifiable, so its all just opinion.

At this stage we fully understand what Flacco can or cannot do. If you give him some reasonable pass catchers and a couple blocks he'll win you some big games. He basically always takes a quarter or two to get going rarely ever starting fast. In the right system he is a top ten QB. He'll never be HOF but you've never needed to be in order to win a SB. I perfectly believe he could win another one similar to Eli Manning (who is also inconsistent at times). I guess I just get tired of hearing everyone bash Flacco as if they'd rather go back to how it was before we had him, top defense with no real ability to win games against great QBs unless they had a record breaking game.
