[News] Eisenberg: Grab Heart Medication And Hold On Tight

35 posts in this topic

while no one was expecting the ravens to go undefeated at this point of the season; they weren't expecting a team to self destruct in the fourth quarter, either. something needs sparks a sense of desire for the ring. if not, the ravens will miss the playoffs. the rest of the season is no joke. especially, with the bad habit of the ravens have of playing down to their competition.

The secondary played better - yes. And Will#2 is going to be a big help at CB. But Vick was the QB, which isn't a sufficient test. His arm is still strong but he is very inaccurate due to terrible passing technique. Roethlisberger would have been a much different story and probably would have beaten us with everything else being equal.

The Ravens have a history of losing an easy game after a very hard emotional game, like the one we just played in Pittsburgh. Add to that the loss of our receiving corps and that puts us in a bad position. Fortunately, they have some extra days to get it together. I am very worried about this Browns game and until we go out and actually control a game and win, I am very concerned we will and its going to be a crazy year if all these games are like the last 4. But necessity has forced Ozzie's hand and I wonder if Givens will be the only addition to the receiving corps.

A lot of people keep saying that the two field goals Scobee missed in Pittsburgh allowed us to win. Those 2 misses just balanced out the TWO 4th downs we attempted and failed at, which were worth points as well, either in field goals or potential TD's. And we and Pittsburgh both had injuries to key players, and they still had Antonio Brown and L. Bell and Bey in their arsenal of offense.

That said, we won that game and shouldn't make light of the fact. Hope it keeps us motivated to improve, stay psyched up, and roll, and put the gloom of 0-3 behind us.

GO RAVENS!

For me, it hasn't necessarily been about just the W or L. I can live with any outcome as long as I am convinced that the players played with complete intensity and determination for 60 min, and the coaches were aggressive and creative with the play calling. I applaud the effort of the Ravens against the Steelers, whatever struggles they had was certainly not due to a lack of desire. Unfortunately. it took the threat of going 0-4, combined with the Steelers rivalry on prime-time to ignite the much needed sense of urgency. This is what frustrates me the most. Had the same tenacity emerged in the first 3 games, at least 2 of those games would have been won convincingly. Now the Ravens have legitimate injury concerns, there's still a lot that needs to be polished on both sides of the ball, but if the sense of urgency of last week is duplicated weekly, we'll emerge with the W more often than not.
