[News] Ravens Trade For WR Chris Givens, Send Michael Campanaro To Injured Reserve

The last guy we traded for took forever to get in the lineup. Based on that alone I think it is time for the single wing. Four running backs and no wide receivers. Joe can run too.

If Givens is the replacement for Camp, and if Smith Sr will be out for a while or would be hobbled by this injury, we are still down a #1 receiver. The Bears denying Alshon is on the block is like waving a big flag that he IS on the block. I've heard that the Bears want a 3rd rounder for him, and if Ozzie could do a trade-and-sign, it might be worth it since he has such trouble drafting viable WRs (Torrey Smith the exception that proves the rule). Of course, that won't happen, because he will never give a top-tier WR top-tier money. Here's to the 3 TE sets on offense! Go Ravens!

Somebody on here stated that Jeffery suffered a hamstring injury, so the injury report should be checked. But if he's healthy, and truly Is available, Ozzie should definitely make an exception for him. He's surely worth a 3rd rd choice, and he's good enough to be paid well. He would, undoubtedly help us. I have to believe Ozzie could find the money somehow. This is an example of a time that Ozzie should, really, make an exception to his M O. Can you imagine a healthy Jeffery and a healthy Perriman next year, moving forward? Just because Perriman got hurt that doesn't mean his potential to be a #1 disappeared. It may have delayed it, but it's still there. Those two, with SSS gone next year, would be a pretty awesome combination. It sure is fun to imagine it given our LONG history of being so lacking at the receiver position. Heck, just ask Joe if the idea excites him. Please, Ozzie. Just this one time, huh?

good pick up ozzie, i hope he pan out, 2018 7rnd pick not bad.

Is that Really what we gave up? A 2018 7th rounder, or are you being sarcastic? Surely you must be.

Givens could be a huge surprise diamond in the rough...by all accounts he had an impressive rookie showing but then was overshadowed by "marquee" moves and draft picks by the Rams. We all know what a change of scenery has done for some others that have landed with the Ravens...

but I know that even if Ozzie Could find a team, perhaps in the rebuilding mode, that would be willing to let one go, he would Never be willing to pay the price. He just loves his draft choices too much. Prying anything more that a 6th or 7th is Very rare. What we need would probably cost us as much, possibly, as a 3rd or even a 2nd. I mean, I want somebody really GOOD. I'll hope for help from Givens, but I can't honestly think that he's the answer. Hope I'm wrong.

Please keep in mind that we simply don't have the cap space to pick up a premier player.

Hard to say whether or not this means anything. A "slot receiver and a reserve" is nothing to get all excited about. We still have no receiver that merits a number 1 rating. That is not gonna change. Campanero, once again, on the injured list. This guy can't play in the NFL. He is too soft. While Aiken has stepped up, Marlon Brown has not. Our best receivers are our tight ends. Not only do they catch the ball, they run over people afterwards. The offense should be getting them in the game more and getting the ball to them more.

We still have to be looking for another wide receiver to compliment SSS (and take his place the next 1 to 2 games. If we could trade salary for salary we wouldn't hit the cap so hard. Is anyone crazy enough to take Eugene Monroe? I think Givens will be a help and give us what Campanaro did. He seems to have good hands. I'd get Butler from the PS and dump Marlon Brown.

What is up with Justin Babin?. He's suppose to be a rushing specialist and we 've had him 3 weeks. I can see not playing him the first week (only here 4 days) but in weeks 2 and 3 with the team he's been on the field for 6 plays. Is this more of Pees not knowing what to call or who to play on defense. Put him in on passing downs and let him rush the passer. he should get his shares of pressures and sacks; otherwise, dump him and pick someone else up. Thus far if we're paying him $1 that's too much for what he's doing.

I like our TEs and the upside is very encouraging, but if there's a vet out there we may want to get some experience at the position.

Chris Davis looks like a god pick up.

Ravens get healthy and continue the momentum by beating the Browns next Sunday.

We got Chris Givens for a 7th round pick!! Good move. The best move in my opinion is to use the WRs we have now & get them some experience for the stretch run, while everyone else try to get healthy! We really need for our running game to get going, to keep pressure off Joe!

Come Sunday, your statement is correct as SSS will be out. If he was playing, he would be the best receiving option as he gets open as shown by all the targets. I too think all 3 of our TE's can make a big impact and will be mismatch problems for any secondary. I am still giving hope that Aiken will continue to grow but has lost all faith in Marlon Brown as when he gets an opportunity, he looks like he tries to do too much. Marlon, catch the ball first, then run...

We can't bring in (or bring up) another player without cutting someone.

That is clear but there is plenty of room on this roster for another WR.  In fact, I think it is almost a necessity since we don't know when we will be getting Steve Smith Sr. back.  I think Wes Welker becomes even more interesting now that we got Givens who is a burner (4.41/40).  In Givens, we finally got someone to replace Perriman, now we have to work on someone to replace SSS and Campanaro.  If Arthur Brown is not going to suit up for any games this season, like the last several, then his spot is certainly not being used and that is just one guy who is expendable on this roster, there are a number of them (Jason Babin isn't doing anything either).

Watching Tavon Austin last night, I now realize why they dealt us Chris Givens.  It seems you can't have two???

Stop shattering all the Madden guys with your logic...

Its so much easier to pretend like we can just get whoever we want whenever we want without having any consequences whatsoever. All you have to do is hit the Commissioner override button and it shall be done!

Wide Receiver position right now is hopefully ok, I hope we stay healthy from here on in. I see a streak coming a winning streak let it be like 2001 Any flash backs?

Chris Givens may well come in here and find himself a home, Mom! It's not like there's anyone to challenge his ascension into the starting line-up! I hope he realizes this!   B)

we arent close to being okay at the receiver position.

Chris is fast, thats about it. He's not particularly reliable which is why he fell on the Rams' depth chart to begin with.

if we got him BEFORE Smith Senior got destroyed in Triple coverage in Pittsburgh, we might have been okay.

No worries folks, Flacco will make him better. He elevates the play of those around him like other premiere QBs. ;-D

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha,...   :lol3:

Sorry,.. for a minute, I thought you were serious!
