Funny how the Eagles called Reid to get his thoughts on Pederson. I know Reid is not that kinda guy but we were joking at work about how that phone call would go.

Yeah we'd kinda like to go back to the offense we used to have and we so sorry.

Trent Baalke is going to destroy the 49ers. It was reported that Mike Shanahan was the favorite to become the Head Coach. Now it has come out that Chip Kelly was hired because Trent thinks Kaepernick can be salvaged and Shanahan wanted to get rid of him and use the first round pick on a QB.

The 49ers interviewed Texans LB Coach and former player Mike Vrabel for their defensive coordinator position. Vrabel turned down the offer.

Here's the catch. Current Defensive Coordinator Eric Mangini is still has a job so they didn't even let him go before interviewing someone. What a mess.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving Gus Bradley a one year extension through 2017.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/22/despite-12-36-record-jaguars-extend-gus-bradleys-contract/

Fun Fact: Only Andy Reid(Chiefs), Mike McCoy(Chargers), Bruce Arians(Cardinals) and Bradley remain from the 2013 Head Coaching Class. The rest, Marc Trestman, Doug Marrone, Rob Chudzinski and Chip Kelly have been fired from the teams that hired them in 2013.

Update: Chip Kelly doing Chip Kelly things. Mike Vrabel turned down the 49ers for their defensive coordinator position that wasn't vacant at the time. The 49ers now have an opening and a need for a defensive coordinator.

Chip Kelly has fired DC Eric Mangini.

That makes no sense.

Oh, that's right, let's fire this coach because br*dy got pummeled all day.

Guess they took Cris Carter's advice on having a fall guy. He's a good OL coach and if a team who has offensive line issues may give him a call to come improve their line.

You guys have to understand. The Patriot fanbase is the MOST INTELLIGENT fan base I have ever seen. When they say Brady can do no wrong, you don't question it. You just accept it.

Their o-line coach made due with a ton of injuries, and had the third stringers out there playing fairly well in the playoffs. What more could you have asked from the guy? Horrible decision. Well, it'll be some other team's gain when they hire him.

Stephen Ross says that he was looking for the next Belichick/Parcells instead of hiring retreads and believes Adam Gase is that guy. Except, Gase has three years to do so or he is fired.

Quote

“After three years, if we haven’t made the playoffs, we’re looking for a new coach,” Ross said. “That’s just the way it is. The fans want it.”

Well that is sure going to be attractive to free agents on March 9th. "Hey come to Miami where the Sun is shining, we got new fancy stadium upgrades and oh yeah the coach your playing for now may not be here in three years. Hope you like the lack of stability!"

Is Stephen Ross trying to turn Miami into Cleveland South and fire coaches every 2-3 years? I mean granted giving Gase three years is more than Cleveland would give him but still. The lack of patience by owners is ridiculous.

I'll be surprised if he gets a full three seasons if things don't work at 'Stephen Ross speed'. In the 7 seasons since he's owned the majority of the team, they've gone 49-63 and been through 4 coaches (counting interims). Not that Miami was a good franchise beforehand or anything but Stephen Ross has them well established as a below-average franchise.

Cleveland South is what we should rename the Dolphins.

No he'll probally get his 3 seasons. He'll just have tokeep firing coordinators. Maybe they can learn something from from Jax who I believe is on the upswing.

So sorry for the Rams fans who want Jeff Fisher gone. It seems that the Rams won't fire Jeff Fisher according to Ian Rapport. Adam Schefter reported that the Rams want to him to return and that the only way he is gone is if Fisher decides to walk away on his own.

In some ways it makes sense since the Rams are looking to move to LA and Fisher helped with the move of the Oilers to Tennessee where they were re-named the Titans. Plus Fisher has ties to LA so keeping him at least until they move and get settled in LA would mean not having to worry about changing coaches while trying to move.

So now here's a 2016 Update. Not only are the Rams keeping Jeff Fisher but they are working on a CONTRACT EXTENSION with him. No word on how long but I imagine they are just giving him a one year extension to keep him from the lame duck status in a contract year. Not sure why even in a lame duck year, just let Fisher go. Rams haven't won more than 7 games with him in his four seasons with the team.

Jeff Fisher, a member of the exclusive 'good coach club' who hasn't won anything and has essentially a career .500 record. I think some people just get some ingrained in the NFL fabric and can talk the talk so well that their owners are convinced to let it ride... with or without production.

I will never understand the love for him.  If you listen to the Fantasy Focus Podcast with Mathew Berry, it never gets old listening to him vent about Fisher.

Watch them draft another DL player and the analysts will rave about it only for them to be mediocre again
