Ravens acquire Chris Givens from Rams

333 posts in this topic

Well, that was quick. Givens has had some good seasons, he can play WR and Kick returner for us. Sucks that Campanaro is on IR but it's a herniated disk, those aren't easy to deal with. Sucks to see him gone for the season honestly. It would be nice if we can get him for a full 16, can't imagine how frustrated he is. Wish for a speedy recovery for him.

Crazy, just the other day I was looking through WRs that would be FAs after the season and I really liked both Rams' players Quick and Givens. Got a conditional pick for Easton, gave Rams a conditional for Givens, so basically we just got Givens for nothing. I really like Givens, I remember hearing his name quite a lot during his rookie season, I think he'll fit in nicely with the pieces we have.

Hopefully, never.  Camp pours his guts out there.   He is just injury infected right now.  That TD leap is a memory and we should appreciate his swift cut to get there.  I think Waller is in the time out corner.

I know Camp has talent but he gets injured all the time . We need to move on ,sadly .

He has great slot potential but he will get injured next year too .

This is a great trade imo. I've always liked Givens. He certainly has that deep speed we've missed since losing Smith. This could be a great acquisition.

He hasn't done much for years, but he looked great in his first two years. I think he's got promise.

And Camp needs to bulk up or something otherwise he's finished. Every time he takes a hit he gets hurt. Don't think he's on the team next year.

He's had some good years. He's a Free Agent( I think) so hopefully he balls out.

With 8 days until the next game, be should be playing

Also looks like a 12 game rental since he is a free agent next year.

12 game rental  lol  If he does play, I would like to see a 2 touchdown win along with his presence. These close games are a phone call away from a therapist.

Because Camp is on IR, the Ravens had to make this trade. Idk what to expect from Givens; had promise early in his career but then got replaced by Tavon Austin who has a similar mold. If he can do what Camp did, but stay healthy and actually get on the field (looking at you Trestman), then he should be some help. As for the trade, 7th round picks aren't that valuable because you rarely hit gold so I don't mind the trade.

Did yall see this?

@CHICKatCSN: Per team source Ravens WR Steve Smith Sr. has 4 broken bones in his back. They will put him in wait & see mode (day 2 day) ‪#‎ravenstalk‬

We really needed some sort of deep threat to keep defenses honest, even if he is a "nobody". We turn nobodies into somebodies.

With Camp on IR and SSS banged up, we have no one to return kicks/punts. With 8 days before we play again, I'm pretty sure he'll play vs Clev.

Will Davis proved he is a D catalist and Givens may be the same for the other side of the ball. .

Our receivers are so far:

SSS:  375 yards 2 TDs

Aiken: 165 yards 1 TDs

Marlon: 75 yards 0 TDs

Waller:  17 yards

*Camp: 35 yards

*Butler

Im guessing he'll be our #3 or #4.   Same place where Jacoby was last year.   I'd be happy if he can pull off a 400 yarder this season.

Sucks to hear about Camp. Hopefully Steve won't be out for long, that looked like a nasty kidney shot he took. But I'm glad we made a move to add somebody, the cabinet was getting pretty bare. Hes got some speed too, which defiantly helps.

I've always liked Chris Givens. As many have said already, he was looking very promising in his first 2 years. Then, he disappeared. The Rama just kept adding on trying to find that number 1, and it just kept pushing Givens down the depth chart. A change of scenery will be nice for him.

Was just looking up some stats on him. NFL.com says in his four seasons with the Rams, he has caught 88 passes for for 1,433 yards and four TDs. So far in 2015, he has been buried on the depth chart just catching 1 pass for 7 yards.

So it seems the potential is there just he's been marred by bad QB play for most of his time in St. Louis.

Yeah... That Rams O line buried Bradford.  Their D is the best unit

What the heck? !!!?????? I hope this is not true . We are running into the secondary injuries we had last year on the

Receiver side .

This better not be true . I can't see how we get back in the hunt without him .m

I don't see how we can hold a roster spot for someone that is so consistently plagued with injuries. Maybe one more year? To see if he can get through a full season and that's based around who we draft. Sure, he can be explosive, but at what cost if we can only use him for four games.

Sucks..... I hope its not season ending.  Meanwhile, Roethlisberger is due back in weeks. :o>>>:(

I hope Gilmore is back, Brown and Waller wakes up.

We kept KLM after he missed 2 entire seasons due to injury.

If it's season ending you can forget about our season . We had a chance of getting back in the hunt but that chance is over without Smith .

I'm not saying cut Camp now, but after another season or so, you gotta start thinking about it.

I'd say he's our #3, that's pretty much partly due to how lackluster Marlon has been honestly.
