[News] What The Steelers Said After Their Loss

26 posts in this topic

i hope the young receivers have seen what is needed to win. when the other team hasn't made glaring mistakes we've lost, so if you have a chance to make a play do it, I'm talking you marlon brown. i think the best he played was his rookie year especially that game against the vikings. if brandon lloyd or robert meachem are available we need to take them (if not them, ANYBODY OZ just get someone), we are in desperate need for players who can stretch the field for us

If Smith and Campanaro are hurt for a bit, it's time to bring in Reggie Wayne for a look at his condition.

I am so tired about reading about stretching the field... Yes it helps to have speed... but its not life or death... Seattle won their super bowl without a speed demon... so did the Patriots... its all about scheme.. if you have receivers who can excel with run after the catch you can do just as well... plus that's not the reason we are 1-3... so stop begging for a trade... you have players who can make them.. Kamar has had to solid games so far that have been overlooked... plus Crockett has been a steady force and will only get better... we can with the pieces that we have... Like I have said many times before... plays are not designed to get Marlon open.. but there are a lot of times that he's gotten open and the ball isn't thrown his way... so you assume that because the ball wasn't thrown his way he wasn't open... then when the ball is thrown his way.. lots of times its thrown behind him... Flacco hasn't been on target this year by n.e means... that is a result of teams bringing the heat and he has to get rid of the ball... prime example last season... there was a four game stretch that Marlon caught every pass thrown in his direction... he was set to have a big game against the Chargers before he got knocked out the game with a concussion... The Rocket is on record saying that he's surprised that Marlon hasn't gotten more targets... lots of times he's the blocking WR or he's the decoy... he does a lot of the dirty work... if you pay attention when he's on the same side with SSS he runs the clear out route that allows smith to run underneath and not be doubled... that's why SSS makes it a point to shout them out in his interviews... unless you have inside knowledge on n.e. thing.. or until the coaches call him out in the media...just let it be... if the front office was as concerned as everyone else is they would find a way to make a trade... trust and believe that... and once again the WR aren't the reason why we lost games... so just drop it... see it for what it is... the defense finally proved that they can make stops when it counts... so hats off to them...

Good that they didn't throw anyone under the. That was classy. Have never thought Tomlin was a good coach. Got his superbowl with Cowher's team and has been getting worse ever since. Riding Rothlesberger's coattails. The call was the worst of 4 options.

Uh Seattle had Percy Harvin coming off his injury. He's the opitome of a "speed demon". He had two end arounds for 50 yds and returned a kick for a TD in that Superbowl.

You say that because it didn't work just like fans were yelling about Harbs decision after the fake punt. I approve both decisions, it takes guts and confidence in your team to make those calls.

This game was a 3 fingernail game (chewed to the quick) lol. Have a heart guys I only have so many nails to go around. Please lets wrap up the game (for once) in the 3rd quarter! Go Ravens!

I have no problems with making gutsy calls, just stupid ones. Harb's calls were justified - we desperately needed to try everything to get a win. And they were not in a game winning situation. Tomlin's on the other hand was the worst of four choices. 1( If he is going for it on 4th down, give it to Hill who we couldn't stop all game for less than 3 yards. 2) Punt the ball and pin us deeper if he had no faith in his kicker. 3) The best option was send out the kicker. The guy has been in the league over ten years and knows how to adjust. Both of his misses showed he had plenty of distance; they were just wide. If he makes it, they win. Just don't put it into the hands of a washed up QB with so many things that could go wrong.

Sick of hearing us being the good team the others guys beat..

We finally get to heap that fake praise on those loser Steelers

This was only a great win for the Ravens because we so desperately needed it. It was not a great win as far as execution goes.

This team has a lot to improve upon.

@Run Pass Pass Punt... the SB was the only game Percy played in during that playoff stretch remember he was out with a bag of injuries that year and wasn't much of a factor that season... and he wasn't on the team last year when the made it to the big dance... so to say he was key is laughable... he did he have big plays??? Yes he did... but at the end of the day they won games without him... if he was that important they would have kept him...

@Run Pass Pass Punt... please do look up his stat line for his two season with the Seahawks and let me know if he really was a big factor in the outcome of their seasons...

Oh yeah b4 I forget... big big shout out goes to the newest member of the secondary... Will Davis... who played his tail off... played tight coverage...and made plays on the ball with two key pass break ups on 3rd down... keep grinding...

Makes me wonder if Josh Scobee's one kick that was made if we didn't get our hands on it would that kick have been good? It was almost blocked and went through our hands.

That kick that we nearly blocked would have been negated by an offside penalty if we had blocked it. Levine jumped the snap.

Albert McClenen (#50) did a buffoon tackle attempt when he tried to snatch  Bells ankles.  When Bell reached toward the end zone it appeared three of our guys let him in.  That game had so many twists we had a clear chance to lose if Scobee could perform.

However, we wanted it moreso than they did.  We deserved that game and I'm glad the football gods gave us the will and our players focused for the win.  Tucker was magnificent.

Hope his technique stimulates others to perform likewise.  He was a great pick up by Mgmt.  I hope he snuffs the Browns too.

Nice to see a couple new guys make some big plays for us. Loved the back to back sacks by Z. Smith and all around solid play by Will Davis. These guys could be a big help going forward.

Also glad to see Aiken and Waller stepping up. I think Campanaro is done for good and Smith may be a while getting back to 100%. It is really time for Ozzie to make a move for some veteran WR's starting with Reggie Wayne. Perriman and Brown are busts, neither will help us this year. Heck, I'd even bring Butler back.

The offensive line was finally dominant but remember this is the Steelers who, despite all the hype, have a weak defensive front seven and a weaker secondary. They will be lucky to finish 8-8. At least we won the game.

Same goes for the defense who finally made the plays needed to give us a chance to win the game. The Steeler offense is on life support after losing Ben, Pouncey, Suisham and Bryant. They have a weak offensive line as well.

I'm really concerned with Flacco and his turnovers. He has been very inconsistent and his turnovers have been game changers all season long. Unless he starts taking care of the ball this will be a long year for the Ravens.

We have a good chance to get back to 3-3 with Cleveland and SF coming up. Both are mandatory wins. Having 10 days off will help us get more healthy. Going 7-3 in the last 10 may be enough for a playoff spot. If we can't do that then we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
