[News] Steve Smith Calls Out Steelers Safety Mike Mitchell

33 posts in this topic

If that was Will Hill spearing Antonio Brown in the back I'd have praised him for laying the lumber, so I can't really call it a dirty or cheap hit. He was doing whatever he had to do to keep Smith from getting a first down.

Mitchell just unleashed the beast next time we play each other.. Oh which happens to be Smitty's last regular season game of his great career. I am going to love the fact that we will be beating the Steelers twice to get into the playoffs this year.

I think with all the talk about the injury to Perriman we forgot about Waller. I know he only had one catch but it is good to see he can come in and produce when the team needs him. That's something players like Doss couldn't do.

Mike Mitchell is one of the dirties players in the league. He doesnt play well so he has to make up for it with his dirty tactics. Its okay bc I am pretty sure he is 1-4 all time vs the Ravens since coming to Pittsburgh!

I'd say that's probably true...  DIFFERENCE IS...  Had that been Will Hill, there would have been a flag for "unnecessary roughness"....

Thank God SSS has 10 days to get healthy and get back out there. If this had been a Monday night game, chances are he wouldn't play on Sunday.

Karma. What goes around comes around. I hope that Blake, somehow, runs into some serious justice on the field of play or his pocket. Apparently, $40,000 doesn't mean a thing to him. Repeat offenders should be dealt with much more severely and if that's limited by the CBA, then that has to be fixed. With SSS And Campanaro out right now, I fear that Ozzie will make another one of his patented moves and acquire us an over the hill, or ineffective wr from somewhere. He usually is only willing to deal away a 6th or 7th rd draft choice and that's just not going to bring what this team needs. We need, at least, a solid #2 or better receiver. That's going to require something Ozzie's probably unwilling to give up, in addition to some money that he would have to find from somewhere, so I don't see it happening. Poor Campanaro. He has So much talent but I just don't think his body is tough enough to play in this league. That's hard for me to say because I'm a big fan of his talents, but he just Can't stay on the field. I think the time has come when Harbs will probably give up on him. I hope I'm wrong because I think he's so talented, yet another part of me thinks that all the talent in the world does one no good if he just Constantly gets hurt. His awesome talent does a team no good when it's always sitting on the bench. Too bad, Camp. You Finally get an increased role and look what happens; yet another injury. Just too fragile, it seems.

receivers coach better get on the remaining receivers and teach them how to get seperation

You think he hasn't already been trying to teach them that? Listen, you either have that ability or you don't. Oh, you may be able to give them some tips, a little trick or two, but I can't believe that hasn't already been going on. Brown and Aiken have been here long enough to show that they have that ability or they don't. Now, Waller, yeah, he's got a lot to learn. Remember, he came out of Georgia Tech. They throw the ball about as after as Flacco can beat somebody in a forty yard dash.LOL.

Like I said before, i don't think it is an injury bug we are dealing with ... it is more like a grizzly bear.

Campanero injured again? No...

I know ... he's a bit of a tease ... When he is out there, he looks really good. Problem is keeping him out there.

I do fear he just doesn't have the body (size and strength) to deal with the punishment that is dished out. If that is the case, it is not something that is just going to go away.

If you have to pick out anything good with Smith getting hurt.....its forcing Flacco to build a rapport with the other receivers. Other teams already know its going to SSS. Get better soon Sr. we need you....but we need others to step up also, and your unfortunate injury allowed that to happen in a game time situation.

Timmons was the one who put the hit on Steve Smith Sr. As I'm sure he now knows, but Triple S and Mike Mitchell had words before that play was made. Mike Mitchell was on top of Steve Smith Sr. during a tackle he made was they were tussling and pulling and pushing while Steve Smith Sr. was still on the ground. Now that he most likely knows who hit him, I still think Mike Mitchell will still be on that hit list.

Ref on the sideline was right there and let the spearing of SSS go un-penalized. So much for referee objectivity.

Gotta love SSS  He has bravado.  I think the strangest play was when Joe carried the ball lost it from a swipe and their guy toe plants and retains possession.
