Next up : Cleveland Browns.

We have to remember the division is our most likely path to the postseason so I hope they are focused and beat Cleveland handily. 2-1 start to division play would be great.

I think we have a solid chance at the 6th spot. Jets seem to be a player for a playoff spot but you know Fitzpatrick tends to tumble later on down the season.

I think our game with them will be a shootout like today was with them against the Chargers. Still I think we pull it out - 35-30.

I suppose *you're* suggesting than that Joe was simply standing and staring at the sidelines instead of lining up the offense for no good reason, but I disagree.

No I'm suggesting that Joe in fact does have the freedom to call his own plays. I believe that's exactly what I said. Against the Broncos, Raiders and Bengals Flacco called plays while walking to the LOS in tempo situations using hand signals to identify certain things to his WRs. Obviously there is still communication with the sidelines via the headset but in most those situations Joe was running the offense and calling the play at the LOS.

In this game and I assume the situation in question was with about 40 seconds remaining in the 4th. You have no Camp, SSR or Gilmore at that point. Your are still trying to run tempo but obviously with the youth of 2 rookies who usually aren't in that situation you wanna make sure everyone is on the same page. IMO they should have spiked the ball and played. You suggest it was the slow coaches but Waller was tackled with 55 seconds on the clock. Joe gets the play at 47 seconds at the same exact time as the ball was spoted. That's 8 seconds between the end of the play and when Joe received the play. However the ball isn't snapped until 35 seseconds. It wasn't the play call that was slow, it was Joe making sure everyone was on the same page.

Ugh....Haden vs Aiken. That won't end well. I seriously have no clue how we are supposed to move the ball through the air with a terrible OL and even worse WR.

We use the new version of the Three Headed Monster......... Crock, Williams and Boyle!

Hopefully Trestman has a plan.

I watched the 4th quarter of the SD game and this ain't your daddy's brownies. They played with passion and resolve and probably deserved to win. Unless we find another gear, this will not be an easy win.

They haven't given the Ravens easy wins in a long time. I'm glad the mini bye is before this game. Of course, at 1-3 no one can be taken lightly.

It's hard to win shootouts when you have no weapons.

Haden missed yesterday's game so hopefully he will sit out another week.  I am excited to see Givens play, he has great speed and should give Flacco someone to throw the deep ball to.  Hopefully we have Monroe and Gilmore back for this game and Forsett can continue to run well

Ok. Now we're on the same page. I agree with you. I was discussing a different time with someone else. Chat soon.

At this point, I cannot underestimate any team in the league and think any game is an easy win or sure bet. I think we win against the Browns but I think it will be 1 tough, hard fought game by both teams.

Except for when JLew was here and running all over them, when has it ever been easy for the Ravens against the Browns? I'm sure there has been a couple lopsided victories since Jlew set rushing records on them but i honestly can't remember any and would expect it to be more then 2.

Now the good thing is the Ravens typically beat the Browns but it certianly never seems easy.

yeah, I know.  But watching them yesterday, they looked like a team different than any brownies team that I've seen.

We sure could use Jamal about right now!   lol

Yeah the Browns are like the Bengals. You can't continue to add top talent through the draft and not be good enough to win games. At some point those guys will put it all together. I've liked what I've seen from the Browns for a few years now. They just need a solid QB. Josh Gordon was a potential stud and they built a classic AFC North defense. Their management sucks tho. I definitely down expect them to lay down. I think it'll be a game similar this past game vs the Steelers more then the Bengals divisional game. Probably more a game that features the run game heavily for both sides and lots of FGs.

Yet they lost in true Brown fashion.

These games have been close recently so not a gimme (not that any are this season with this team) but we're at home so I think we pull this one out.

On Sunday both our starting WRs will be undrafted players. Really hope we get the run game going.

And the kicking game.

And the pick sixing game.

well, i hate to sound like sami here, but i dont know if we win sunday...

i gotta say im not feeling good about our chances. i think the browns are gonna take a early lead on us and we play catch up all day and shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties, bad playcalling, and trying to force plays because our secondary will be giving up 10 play drives like its nothing.

Secondary been playing lack of communication; I believe they will play better than last game.

i feel it may be the complexity of the scheme. isnt dean pees' coverage scheme notoriously complicated?

You need to snap out of that funk you're in. Browns are crap. They played a close one vs SD who don't look anything like last year's team. We got this one, convincingly.

That's because "your daddy's" Browns moved and are now the Ravens.

Seriously, though, we will probably get their best game of the season, and it will most likely be ugly win or lose.

well regardless of how good/bad we are and how good/bad they are, they always play us close. they could go 0-16 and we go 16-0 and you can bet that 2 of the closest games of the season were probably against the browns. with our team playing as badly, and undisciplined as we are right now, and with us not having a single wr we can consider "starting material"... paired with the ravens tendency to give "firsts" or "season highs" to other teams, i just dont feel good about it.

cleveland is 31st in rushing defense right now, ill bet you their run defense has the best game of their season next sunday and they hold us to under 100 yards rushing, that would just be typical ravens fashion with the way we have played this year so far.

I have to think that the Browns and whoever else we play are going to stack the heck out of the box and challenge us to throw. Even under those circumstances, the stacking the box will work to cover both the run and the short routes involving the TEs and RB/FB and will challenge us to throw to the outside and deep.

The question is - can we take advantage. At some level, we're just going to have to get our WRs to get the job done, no matter who is out there.

In the most serious way I can possible ask the question, how in the hell do you see us scoring 35 points?

Gilmore/TE's get 1-2

RB's get 1-2...

ok, I can't see it either

Yeah, I actually have a Baltimore Browns T Shirt that's never been worn. lol

They just looked exciting at times yesterday, not something I've ever said about a brownies squad.
