man blocking surprisingly doesn't appear to be his thing

Well, last night, we most definitely went back to the zone blocking. I don't think there was one run play that was man blocking.

Agree and lets hope they get better.

Considering their limited experience and youth, unless they get injured, they have to get better.

Don't forget the Raiders game.   1-4 can be a reality if we sleep on another dud team.

I'm not convinced Oakland is a dud team.  They have some serious weapons.

I'd prefer they start McCown when they play us. Manziel could actually buy time with his legs and hurt us deep (which is our weakness), whereas McCown would probably just get sacked. I mean, we haven't had any problems defending running QBs in the past, but Manziel seems like the more explosive QB, even if he is more TO prone. Anyone else agree?

We need to stop focusing on our record right now and build on this win! Focus on the Browns and just win baby! I dont care how we win! One game at a time. We got 10 days to prepare for them! But for right now im gonna enjoy this win! Lets go Ravens!!!!!

the browns' run defense is the worst the league.  i think this will prove advantageous to forsett and co. and set up joe for some big gains.

I do. He may not be overall very good, but no one can't deny that he makes plays out of nothing. Reminds me of a boy version of big ben

That is lovely. I hope their front seven is bad at getting to the quarterback too.

I want whichever quarterback Cleveland thinks is worse.

So I guess it was true that The Ravens were running more man  than zone  before.

1. Hold off on the Davis praise, he did well in a very limited role, Melvin did better.

2. If he actually is good id rather have him play outside.

You'll likely get your wish. Davis played practically every snap on the outside throughout his entire 2014 campaign and he did so in this year's preseason. I believe he was also mostly if not exclusively on the outside last night. Melvin played all but 9 snaps outside last season and followed the same trend when active this year, so if Davis is given Melvin's role, we'll likely see Lardarius Webb in the slot in Nickel sets with Davis as the LCB given that Jimmy Smith rarely travels.

This is a really strange season thus far. First 3 games Ravens are in great position to win. Game 4 it looks like a certain loss with with one 1st down and FG but the Steelers can't bury the Ravens. Typically Ravens vs Steelers just glad it was them who blew the game the end.

As for the team going into the Browns game, they definitely gave the fan base something to be excited about. Hopefully the brief lay off allows the team to get healthy and build confidence. I can't see this team overlooking the Browns cause they can't afford to. It's crazy that this will be only the 2nd home game during the first 2 months of the season but if they can win it'll put them at 2-1 in the division. Of course 2-3 will still be bad but 2-1 in the division will be great especially with nobody else in the division playing each other yet. So big opportunity there.

I was one who thought the west coast trip helped the team build chemistry and allowed such a young team to bond. However these guys have been going none stop with camp, road trips and this short week, allowing these guys to get away from football for a few weeks will be huge. They got the stink of not winning a game off them and they're able to rechange the batteries and hopefully get back to the team that we all thought they were before the 0-3 start. That was a huge win for the team and it'll be interesting to see how the team responds.

I feel like this is going to be another really ugly game that is going to come down to a few plays at the end. I mean that has been every game for us so far yeah but still.

There are no gimmies this year. So I hope the Ravens win but wouldn't be shocked if they lost.

wagners decline is a sad thing..

I'm still confused regarding Osemeles decline..

I b don't think he's healthy. In pre season he had a bad achilles and I don't that just goes away.

Wagner might still be recovering as well.

A boy version? How about a half pint punk version. Well Ben is a bit of a punk too so....but Manzeil is what, 3 feet tall. He should be a jockey not a QB.

Have this feeling too, but wouldn't mind us blowing them out. A win here would be huge going to San Fran. If that happens, them a win against the Niners, 3-3 going to Arizona, who knows what happens. I've said from the start, going 0-3 won't kill the season, just really hurts chances of winning the division. Season is far from over, but the team just needs to go one week at a time. This Thursday game might be a blessing with the extra rest.

I shut off my phone (my ex is a pats fan who seems to pop up every steelers game....her views on football kill me since she really doesn't know a thing)

Stood up the whole 4th and OT

That explains a bunch of Pats fans. Edited by RavensFanMania

They were performing ZBS last night. Not sure why they have been doing so much man this year though. Makes absolutely know sense whatsoever.

Is anyone else annoyed at the amount of time Joe Flacco wastes getting the offense back to the line before snapping the ball? I swear he sometimes acts like there's 20 min. on the clock. No sense of urgency when coming down to the wire!  Your thoughts?

Before the end of regulation he wasted almost 20 seconds on what should have taken at the most half of that.

I don't care about the record, they're still the Browns coming to our house. The Browns that Flacco completely owns. We dominate 31-7.............. Until the 4th quarter where we give up 3 TDs with 5 minutes left (joe throws a pick to the linebacker on 1st and 10 for some reason) and the Browns miss a 55 yarder at the horn to tie it

He deserves a lot of criticism, but how he handles an offense in crunch time is not one of them. He still doesn't have freedom to call his own plays in this offense, and he is staring at a slow coaching staff most of those times you are referring to. I think there are far more things for him to work on and us to worry about than his two-minute drill, where he has excelled throughout his career. I agree this wasn't his best game for that, but I wouldn't be too worried about that, yet.

lol the raiders are a dud team. they still havent played any division games, and their defense is atrocious. currently ranked dead last in the league for obvious reasons.

BUT regarding the second part i can see us and them competing for the worst 6-10 team this year, no argument there.

Glad to see someone else say this. This was my thought going into the game with Oakland but many disagreed. Their past problem had been execution more so than a lack of personnel. Whether Oakland can gain consistency remains to be seen, but they have good players.

As for Cleveland, I am sure they want nothing more than to come here and win. For them, the feeling goes beyond keeping the Ravens in the AFCN basement. Expect a tough game!
