The um Good, Bad and really Bad vs Steelers--vent away, vent away all

As a side note (per Ravens website):

Punter Sam Koch threw one pass for -3 yards, which equates to a QBR of 79.3... Joe had a QBR of 73.9...

My question is:  "Is Sam Koch elite?"

And here is why QBR and QB Rating are a joke

Now with SSS out, the real story on Aiken and Brown will become known.

I've been very down on Aiken but I'm starting to think there is something there. Something that may just require snaps. he appears to have a tremendous burst straight away when he gets the ball...something I'm just now noticing.

i actually have hope that this guy could be a pretty decent two.

there's a reason he got the #2 job. Yes we don't have a whole lot of talent at the position but it was said that he earned the #2 spot even over Perriman during camp. Granted that could have changed , but he still earned the 2 spot- and I think the Pitt game could have given him the boost of confidence that he needed. We will see if it continues. He made the huge 3rd and long catch that put us into feuld goal range to send the game into overtime. Looked a lot like the catch he made last year at the end of the San Diego game.

Yes. Perriman, Brown, and Campanaro all got hurt at least once before the first preseason game and he was competing against a rookie 6th rounder and a few guys currently on no team's active roster

EDIT: I will acknowledge that he played well after Smith went down

I hope this is a joke...

I assumed he was being sarcastic when I read it. There's the big 3 to me, then everyone else. Bell, Charles and Peterson. Bell might be the best all around back, when considering blocking, running and use in the passing game.

That's what I think . He has better vision ,patience and quickness than 99 % of the backs out there,

His vision and patience is insanse.

uhhh training camp wasn't the first time the receivers took the field. Although it was a little premature there were several articles after OTAs and during/ after MINICAMP that all signs were pointing to Aiken being the number 2. I'm sure several of them are still there if anyone actually felt like diggin them up. He was the most consistent receiver throughout camp. Yes Perriman could have possibly passed him on the depth chart eventually, esp seeing how Aiken has been playing so far, but all reports were that they were going to ease Perriman Into the role and Aiken would be the starter opposite sss.

since BP didn't participate other than the first day of training camp it's unfair to say Aiken beat him for the number 2 job. And obviously didn't play in preseason. You could say he won the job because he has a better ability in one department, availability.

as I said...... After OTAs and minicamp, Aiken was #2 on the depth chart and was projected to be the starter at that point... The reports were that Perriman would be eased in. Obviously that could have changed if Perriman simply ran away with it in training camp and preseason, but the way things were going when Perriman went down , Aiken was still projected to be the starter.

Don't take it from me, I'm just going off of what the insiders were saying who were actually present at the time. Look it up, I'm sure the articles are still there. Kind of irrelevant anyway, bc regardless that's the way it panned out.

Oh ok I got ya. I honestly think BP would have won the job if stayed healthy and would have been number 2 opening day. If he didn't, I wouldnt feel that great about him considering I'm about as impressed with Aiken as a solar powered flashlight Edited by usmccharles

QBR and QB Rating are the same thing.

QBR and Passer Rating are not.

I realize that, but it doesn't change my rating that they're a joke

Hilarious . Minicamp doesn't mean squat in relation to training camp and the preseason games .

What's minicamp , a week at a time . Lol

you have to remember to send practices were low intensity practices that were non contact. The receivers are at a major advantage because corner won't press often at all and they obviously can't hit a recover to jar the ball loose. Really think it means anything to look good in shorts and a t shirt with no contact? If you do, then you're sorely mistaken.

And even if the Ravens wanted to "ease" Perriman in (where did you see this?), they couldn't afford to ease him in. They have a void at wide receiver talent and it's horribly apparent now with no field stretcher. They would have put Perriman in real quick.

Sad thing is, 90% of the board noticed this would be an issue with Aiken as the two, but people still put way too much faith into that

It was an ugly win but a good win.

Anyone that thinks how amazing that defense was should rewind and realize that Ben would have had us down 30-7 at halftime.

It cost us our only real playmaker on offense and a promising one in Camp.

So now we have a defense that crumbles in the 4th and an offense with the worst WR corps in professional football.

Not optimistic, but we'll see what happens.

The Ravens first depth chart was August 7th.  By then, Perriman was injured, Brown was injured, Camp had just came off injury if I recall.  Aiken earned the #2 by default

wasn't talking about an "official" depth chart. And as I said, I'm just going off of what was reported on the website. All reports were saying that Aiken would likely start the season as the number 2 and Perriman would be eased in- and that was before the injury. Whether this would have panned out or not is certainly up for debate, but like I said for the 10th time, I'm just going off of what was reported at the time, not my personal opinion. So all of you who are saying it was just minicamp and Aiken won by default and Blazay blah can go argue with the ppl who wrote the articles.
