[News] John Harbaugh Addresses Breshad Perriman Injury

Ok so he had surgery, but he didn't?

He had a 'procedure', but the procedure was simply a scope to determine whether surgery was needed... and it isn't.

I hope they keep him on the active roster. I would be good for him to get even a few real NFL games under his belt at the end of the year, if possible.

He had an orthopedic scope, which is essentially just getting a look at an injury through a small camera. Any medical procedure that involves an incision is surgery. So....stop trying to paint this as misdirection.

Well at least we know that it's a PCL tear. I mean for 2 months we've been fed this crap that it's a "bruised knee". Now I can cross him off the list and move on with 2014.

Hey Crusader, maybe you should become a Bengals fan or something. The kid gets injured while he's working to get on the field and you're going to call him a girl.

Maybe just become a Dalton fan, he's doing pretty good this year!

I would be shocked if he wasn't kept on the active roster. It's still just a sprain, and we desperately need a receiver with speed, and someone who can get open. If we can survive the next few weeks without him, he could still come back and play a major role in this offense. All the people saying he's a bust and he won't be a factor this year have no clue what they are talking about.

It's actually a PCL sprain, and that was reported right after his MRI in August. A sprain normally doesn't normally take this long to heal, so based on a normal timeframe, he should've been back by now. There's no reason to cross him off for this year. It's already been unusual that it's taken this long, and it would be a huge medical anomaly if he missed more than another month.

No surgery is needed, just a peek. Thats good news. Take all the time he needs to be fully healed, that is more important than hurrying him up for the sake of playing. Looking forward to seeing him play when he is fully ready.

Lookin more like a wasted 1st round pick, pick up a vet receiver and move on. Perriman will be a nonfactor this year.

Remember really early on, the Jags first round pick - top 5 pick was lost for the entire season? We are better off than them, so let us be hopeful rather than hopeless my friend. Are we disappointed? Sure all of us are, but he isn't on IR yet. So why the fuss?

Instead of picking up an available receiver when we had the chance and good ones were still available we waited and waited and waited only to find out that he probably wont even play this year. Was listening to talk radio this morning and the first thing they pointed out was that the Patriots had some needs so they took some of that vault of draft picks that they have (and the Ravens have as well) and went out and traded for that person. The insinuation is why don't we go out and get a receiver and make it worthwhile for a team to make that trade. In our 20 year history our best receivers have been Mason, Boldin and Steve Smith Sr.. None of these guys were draft picks nor did we pick them up from someone else's practice squad. Flacco isn't Brady, he needs already developed receivers and with the injuries to Smith and Camp, he needs them now.

Agree 100% with Ravensfan. Brown is a very cheap option who showed excellent skills in preseason garbage time and can provide some depth. Don't know much about Lloyd, but would rather trade for a proven #1 like Jeffery. Have pretty much resigned myself that Perriman is coming back next year; let him heal. We need WR help.

Lloyd is a head case.  There's a reason that he can't land on a team despite having decent ball skills.  The rest on that list (from July 29) are either old and injury prone or young and talented enough to be boarder line special teamers.

There's really no need to go out and get a risky receiver.  The issue for Brown and Aiken all along has been reps.  Waller will get better.  Jeremy Butler can get called up from the PS.  These guys just haven't been worked in with the 1st team much and will get on the job training.  They're hard working players and have some skills.  Aiken looked terrible until the second half last night when he started getting fed the ball - obviously just needed to get the reps.  Camp started cooking too until he got carted off with a back injury.  Gillmore could be back next week too.  So now with 3 receivers out (Camp, Senior and Perriman) these other receivers and TEs should start showing up.    They'll get "eased" into it against the Browns next week with a long week for rest and recuperation.

Dalton does well during the regular season. Wait until we play them in the post season or at the end of the year.

Once you lie to me your a lair for life so I don't believe a word the Ravens say. The kid most likely had issues before the draft. First day and you get hurt? Statistically impossible. Great for him to cover it up and get selected first round but don't expect me to buy a shirt or cheer for you until you prove your a Raven. I'm on Will Davis band wagon now.

lol statistically impossible? I guess donte fowler jr getting injured the first day of OTAs before pads were even being worn and being out for the season is a real head scratcher then too huh? It happens. Get over it.

Would Ravens fans show some class....Its simple, some injuries take longer to heal. Why update people when you don't have any information. Instead the Ravens did the wise thing and had a medical procedure done to determine if there was anything else wrong (THERE WAS NOT). Then they updated the public as they had NEW information.

Its not the Ravens job by the way to keep us informed. Isn't their job to build a team and win games? None of you would survive a minute being a Patriots fan where injury updates don't exist.

And no player is a bust because he gets injured on the first day of practice. Practice some patience. Let's see what happens the rest of this season and next before we evaluate his value.
