[News] Report: Breshad Perriman Out Indefinitely After Knee Surgery

159 posts in this topic

If 1st round rookie not playing for at least half of his first season is not a bust, then I don't know what is.

So when he plays in year 2 and goes for over 1,000 yards, what do we classify him then as?

This answer should be great...

Also, you agree then that Jimmy Smith is a bust?

A bust is someone who doesn't have an NFL career worthy of where he was drafted. It is extremely unlikely that having arthroscopic surgery will be career threatening in any way, and he still has a chance to have a very successful career. Anyone can get injured. Calling someone a bust because of one injury is beyond ridiculous.

Is Suggs a bust? Big Ben? Pouncey? Jordy? Romo? Here is a list of players on IR https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/playerchanges?type=ir  That is a lot of players. Injury reports for week 4? Hundreds of players http://espn.go.com/nfl/injuries   Hundreds of players on injured list is a common part of football. For fans trashing players injured, get an education on what football is all about and learn it is part of the game.

I wonder if it was a complete tear, partial tear, or just a cleanup procedure. There's a small chance he could play at the end of the year if it's more of a cleanup. Regardless, he should be back strong for 2016. Not sure why everyone is calling him a bust for tearing a knee ligament. I guess Manny Machado is a 2x bust.

Don't reign on my parade... I was really looking forward to the answer to my question.

Look - if the team doesn't want to talk about injuries and wants to keep things a mystery, just come out on every player and every incident and say, "we don't talk about injuries ... wait for the mandatory injury report".

To fire back to valid questions from reporters who see him limping at practice and say "I have no idea what you are talking about" ... it is just ridiculous. I don't mind coaches firing back at reporters when they ask stupid questions, but valid questions concerning what they see with their own eyes ... just c'mon man.

It is the right of the organization to handle these things publicly as they see fit. But it is the right of reporters and fans to call into question how they've handled his injury and recovery in any way they wish, because no information breeds misinformation.

If I wasn't over it before, I most certainly am now. If he plays a single snap this season, I'll be stunned.

What a year this has been so far.

I concur... but I'm sure rmcfacket would disagree :D

I feel bad for the young man. I knew it was going to end up like this, though. The WRs we have are terrible. (Other than SSS, obviously) The run game sucks, our secondary sucks, our DC sucks, and Flacco is inconsistent, as usual. One drive he's amazing, the next he throws a terrible interception. Our problems are much bigger than Perrimam. But this news sums up our season, really.

As far as I know, arthroscopic surgery is just a clean up procedure. They only make a tiny incision, and a fully torn ligament would require a much more invasive surgery with a much longer recovery time. I have seen people who had recently had arthroscopic surgery, and the only scarring they had was two little dots, not much bigger than a pin point, where the scope went in.

Tough season for this kid, but he still has so much potential in this league. I think at this point, we need to trade for a #2 receiver if we want to have a realistic chance of coming back from this 0-3 start and making the playoffs.

No point in us even commenting to much on this. He's done for the year guys, nothing we can do but look forward to the guys we have now, and hope Ozzie gets Daniel Brown back in here!!

Can you say T.O.? or Ocho Cinco? LOL. Damn, we are in trouble. Seriously tho, time for the Ravens to make a splash with a monster trade for a WR. Or heck, even get Welker or Wayne to just have someone that can catch. Jeez...

Aiken and Brown are #3 receivers plain and simple. Waller can definitely develop into a #2 receiver, but he is still very raw and we don't have the time (0-3) to wait for him to develop this season. Campanero is the only guy on our roster, that is healthy, that has the ability to be our #2 receiver right now. He is unproven, but he is a play maker, and he gets separation. I hope he gets more snaps tonight, but I still think we should trade for a receiver.

I would not be shocked if he turns out to be another one of these young kids that walks away from the game out of nowhere. This seemed so strange from the beginning. Only time will tell?
