[News] Report: Breshad Perriman Out Indefinitely After Knee Surgery

159 posts in this topic

I wonder if he did more damage or they reevaluated and found they should have done this at the beginning. Either way, I hope they got it right this time.

im pissed off to the max

1: we know this and have yet to seek other options for speed

2: we keep relying on the speed we have and has yet to work 3 times

3: I bet we still wont deal with this issue of stretching the field

Every team has a player that can stretch the field vertically and we have 0

Tehy lose players and go purchase a new one! its like we dont care

i need to go cry now

Tough break for us and Perriman. I think going forward the best thing we can do is trade or sign a free agent wideout. For what ever reason wideout has always been our criptinte. Boldin was our best wideout, one day I would like Flacco to have a wideout like Brown or Green and let him have a real weapon, Akien and Marlon just don't cut it.

man this stinks because we really WR who can take top cover of the defense. OZzie needs to do something asap because marlon brown and Akien are not the answer. Campanaro is more of slot receiver. either make a trade or sign a FA

Disappointing for sure but not surprising in the least. There was an article today in the Post about the lack of a running game in Balt. this year as compared to last year. Well the news re: Perriman has a lot to do with it. The lack of a WR that can go deep and take a DB or two with him may be the main culprit. The opposing D is just stacking the box with confidence their DB's can go one on one with our receiving core. And with justification. Having stated that the lack of D is still the main problem

At least we now know for sure it is a PCL injury instead of a bone bruise injury. All that time leaving Ravens fans hanging and wondering, sometimes banging heads against each other on the board about Perriman's injury. I wish him the best of luck in his recovery and looking forward to seeing him play when he heals. Hang in there Perriman, we will be here for you when you get back.

On a side note: I still think it is not a mistake to draft Perriman. He is young and has a lot of years ahead of him when he heals. A real bummer, yes, but will not give up on him. Someday we will cheer loudly during games when he comes back, we march on till then.

Enough with the speed argument. A bunch of offenses do fine in the NFL without speed. The only reason this is a topic said over and over on this site is because of Torrey Smith leaving. The problem is not speed, the problem is our receivers cannot run a route to get open to save their life. Separation is different than speed. Boldin got separation consistently and he is a slow possession receiver. We need receivers who get separation and do not drop the ball when they are wide open which happens 4-5 times a game. We are not going to go out and trade or pick up another wide receiver because there is none we can pick up that is any better than what we have and we won't trade for a receiver when we only have 2 million in cap space and we are 0-3.

Our passing game isn't the issue we have got 350 yards in the air the last two games. Exactly the Ravens have no running game that is what is killing us along with the defense failing to close out games. We don't need a receiver out there because there is none any better than what we have or they would be on another roster somewhere by now and we are not trading for a big time player at 0-3.

What a bust, really don't think he would have lasted to long anyway better off moving on.

He hasn't played a snap how is he a bust? I guess  Odell was a bust last season after missing a couple games. Injuries happen it doesn't make you a bust. Seriously some people on here are a joke. Injuries happen to everyone it doesn't make players good or bad. I guess Suggs is a bust too he tore his Achilles we might as well cut him too right?

Not sure how I feel about the news... but I do know one thing... life is all about how you handle adversity... you can either face it head on and become stronger because of it... or you can let it devour you... there are other ways to stretch the field without blinding speed to take the top off the defense... I hate to use them as an example but... the Patriots don't have a burner but the kill you with execution and route running... I truly believe that they should let Mark be Mark... use the pass to set up the run... Forte had solid numbers under Marc... use the run to keep them honest... To be quite honest Flacco hasn't been on his game... he's under thrown his receivers running deep way to often... he did it to Crockett against Denver.. same to Marlon in the very same game... he under thrown Kamar at Oakland and against Cincy... so plays have been left out there...

Best to Perriman with hopes to see him next season; so he can show if he can play at the NFL level or not. The Ravens need to shake this off "TODAY", or their season will begin with Perriman next season. Go Ravens!

Look - if the team doesn't want to talk about injuries and wants to keep things a mystery, just come out on every player and every incident and say, "we don't talk about injuries ... wait for the mandatory injury report".

To fire back to valid questions from reporters who see him limping at practice and say "I have no idea what you are talking about" ... it is just ridiculous. I don't mind coaches firing back at reporters when they ask stupid questions, but valid questions concerning what they see with their own eyes ... just c'mon man.

It is the right of the organization to handle these things publicly as they see fit. But it is the right of reporters and fans to call into question how they've handled his injury and recovery in any way they wish, because no information breeds misinformation.

If I wasn't over it before, I most certainly am now. If he plays a single snap this season, I'll be stunned.

What a year this has been so far.

We all new that there was a chance for him to be out for the year or for a long time. No surprise!! When your a speed wr or any player you can't play around with knee issues. HE IS NOT A BUST BECAUSE OF HIS KNEE INJURY! I don't know where some fans come up with the bust thing when it comes to him. My problem is that I was wondering why they didn't add another field stretcher in case something like this happened or if he was slow to develop in the offense. Know we need to add another wr, if not were a wrap because we can't run the ball an we only have Steve smith on the outside.

As long as Flacco doesn't throw picks I am okay with him underthrowing or overthrowing a ball  here and there. Forte had terrible running numbers the last couple seasons getting around 3.5-4 yards a carry, not nearly as high as Forsett last year. Forsett is not the talent of Forte either. Also receivers are picking up where they left off last season dropping a lot of catchable balls. I hope Maxx Williams steps up this season. Him and Gillmore will help get those mid range throws in the middle to keep the ball moving.

John doesn't typically use rookies a lot anyway, but he would have been interesting to watch as fast as they say he is.

Yeah he definitely wasn't watching the other 50 people that were actually active that game and preparing them to actually play.... Head coaches usually don't know about that stuff until after the game. They have to focus on the game.
