Perriman injury updates

Are stem cells legal in the US now? I thought Manning had to go over seas to have that done.

I think that mature stem cells (the only ones that have actually cured diseases to date iirc) are legal, but i don't know too much about it.

John Harbaugh says pregame that Perriman had his knee scoped this morning. Harbaugh says that they found no new damage.

Jeff Zrebiec@jeffzrebiecsun 2m2 minutes ago

Harbaugh said that it's just healing very slow. Called it a matter of time before Perriman returns.

Yeah he's healing at the rate of an 85 year old

I think the Front office , like the Boldin trade , underestimated the value

of Torrey and Jacoby and now it's come home to roost

Just like when I said letting Corey Graham go in the secondary would cost us in the playoffs

and when Jimmy went out ,indeed it did .

Well there goes his 4.3 whatever speed.   Solidified BUST.    Never heard of any receiver that stays absent for whole year and becomes a legend.

Legend? Nope.

Plenty of really outstanding one's though...

Obviously quite premature on every possible level.

Well, you're a real negative Nancy. There's always a first time for everything. The PCL also typically doesn't rob you of speed.

A certain Family Guy clip springs to mind. :P

Why are we not funding this!? And the best segment in the episode goes to, "Stroke, stroke, stroke!" "Stop mocking me!"

Demaryius Thomas tore his Achilles after a relatively below average rookie year. He's one of the top receivers in the league.

So he wasn't reinjured? Why the hell didn't he get this done at the time then?

Probably because we didn't want to do an invasive procedure just to physically look at it. I'm not sure why this man heals so slowly.

Joe is getting linebacker hugs because nobody is open. Forget shutting him down. Need need need

I've had scope as an athlete and it was postponed for 6 months before doing it because doctors wanted to do exactly what you said.  For doctors surgery is the last resort if possible.

We're taught to do least invasive first. That's the principle, since it's never ideal to enter the human body. It's always preferred to allow the body to heal itself if possible. I'm guessing the team or the player was like "man, this is ridic. Let's just get it done." and that was it. My understanding from what I've heard is this wasn't actual surgical repair but more or less surgical evaluation of the tissue. Not that it means much, honestly. He'll still be out, although he shouldn't be out nearly as long. Surgically repairing tissue takes time for the body to adapt to the surgical repair. This could be a good thing. We'll see.

Yep. Sounds like they went in primarily to see if there was something wrong that they were missing in the MRI. They thought it was an oddly long recovery time for the diagnosis, and after the scope, they determined that it just happens to be the case that it's taking longer than expected.

I hope they put a whole jar of the DAV in there. Hopefully they got RL52's contact from that SB run we had. Tell them we want that deer velvet.

Didn't he get his knee scoped and not surgery? Im not a doctor, but if so it shouldn't keep him out as long as some people believe.

Correct, more of a "what's going on here," rather than a "we need to repair this." As GrimCoconut said above, this is actually a good thing in a roundabout way. He'll be back sooner than we expected.

Exactly. Lot of misinformation is being spread out there. It sucks to lose Perriman but its just a healing problem. It will only be a matter of time before hes fully healthy.

I'm confused, isn't that the same update we got yesterday?

This one was dated Tuesday.......  I don't know that there were the details as to "what" was done yesterday.  Just that he was having surgery.
