Here's a topic I'm curious to hear answers about. Say that your team is off to a solid start and you're pleased with your depth (Knock on wood). How do you balance attempting to bundle for an upgrade and holding on to the pieces you have in order not to strengthen opposing teams? I personally sometimes wonder where the line is between avoiding playing with fire and not being complacent. For example, I currently have Philip Rivers, Drew Brees and Tony Romo at QB. Eddie Lacy, Carlos Hyde, Dion Lewis, Rashad Jennings and Alfred Morris at RB. Odell Beckham Jr., Demaryius Thomas, Jeremy Maclin, Keenan Allen and Steve Smith Sr. at WR. Travis Kelce and Gary Barnidge/Jordan Reed at TE. Broncos D/ST and Justin Tucker. Would you move for a upgrade at say RB, or would you stay put and maintain the flexibility to play the roster based on match ups?

Is fan duel Ppr? I play draft kings. I'm not sure I like Rawls vs car...I love Hopkins. I'm spending for him every week with his targets.

One guy I'm going to play in flex a lot this week is Torrey he's going to blow up. And he's cheap.

What do you guys think about Ameer Abdulah? Try to buy him now or is he and Detroit a lost cause this year.

I liked him a lot during the preseason. Not so much now. He might go off on the Bears though

I'm in a keeper league and I've had this trade proposed:

Matt Forte for Brandin Cooks and Jordy Nelson.

Stuff that might help answer the question:

*The league is non-PPR.

*The pick you give up the next year is based on the player's ADP from the previous season. I picked up Nelson off the waiver wire and I'm getting a fantastic deal with him as it stands. Cooks has just started balling out too, and I've always had an eye for him as one of my key keepers.

*My RBs are Frank Gore, Devonta Freeman, Anthony Andrews (Tennessee guy), Joique Bell and Alfred Blue. WRs are Larry Fitzgerald, Kendall Wright, Cooks, Dez and Jordy.

I've hit a pretty good patch of form and unless I get destroyed by injuries I think I can be in the picture come the end of the season. But is it worth passing up the leg up I'll get next year to take Forte? Especially with Cooks starting to ball out?

I'm opting for vent. My RB draft was TRAGIC. Check this out ... could there have been a worse 2nd, 3rd and 6th round selection for this position?

C.J. Anderson

Lamar Miller

Ameer Abdullah

Now that you have taken a moment to allow your laughter to subside ... consider that, as I saw C.J. struggle early, I picked up Hillman. So now I have 2 roster spots taken by a committee of RBs running behind an O line that decided that blocking is optional.

So, the question is ... I need to dump someone to try and take a flier on C. West (if I can get him, which is doubtful). I'm not giving up on Miller yet. I'd still like to see if the Dolphins awake from a Joe Philbin induced coma or if the situation is going to be season-long. Abdullah ... well, his team is a train wreck too, but at least he catches the ball from time to time (1/2 ppr) and has some return duty (1 pt/20 ret. yards).

I need to dump one of these Broncos. My gut tells me that Anderson is still a better option than Hillman, but is that based on lingering expectation?

Any thoughts?

I just cut CJ Anderson. I can't see him being explosive throughout the rest of the season. Maybe a flash game here and there.

He fell to me in the second round so I took him. I cut him for Vareen. I'd say it wouldn't be a big loss whoever you cut.

Here's a lineup for draft kings I really like I'd be interested to hear which people like better.

QB: Blake Bortles v hou

RB: Dion lewis @ ind

RB: Devante Freeman @ No

WR: Willie Snead v Atl

WR: Deandre Hopkins @ Jax

WR: Calvin Johnson v Chi

TE: Martellus Bennett @ det

Flex: Torrey Smith v Bal

D : Ten v Mia

Ouch. That's tough. I have Hillman and will be dropping him shortly. Truth be told, I'd still hang on to Anderson.

Here's a lineup for draft kings I really like I'd be interested to hear which people like better.

QB: Blake Bortles v hou

I like Bortles a lot. He's got two vicious receivers in Hurns and Robinson. JAX has been getting into shootouts and Bortles owners are reaping the rewards. I may switch to Bortles. I like Hoyer only because he has Hopkins and JAX defense doesn't have JJ Watt.

RB: Dion lewis @ ind

I switched to Dion as well. Indys defense is in life support and Lewis will get his receptions. I fear the Pats will unleash Blount on them in goal line instances. Lewis is too good to pass up though

RB: Devante Freeman @ No

WR: Willie Snead v Atl

Freeman requires no explanation. i don't know enough about Snead to comment on him. I haven't touched s Saint at all this season

WR: Deandre Hopkins @ Jax

Awesome!!! Valuable as Edelman in PPR and monster yardage like the guy you listed below.

WR: Calvin Johnson v Chi

I don't like this pick. I know Chi is terrible, but Johnson is a victim of a depleted Detroit offensive line that can't give Stafford the time he needs to make good reads and throws. McPhee is going to have a field day and I feel the trend will keep going with Megatron getting very little in this game

TE: Martellus Bennett @ det

Risky, hit or miss. Gates is cheaper and he's fresh. A number 1 option for a QB like Rivers is better than Cutlers number 2 option whose play is up and down

Flex: Torrey Smith v Bal

I took Boldin. He's the guy Kaepernick is looking for. Torey is a home run threat against a terrible Ravens secondary. However, the only time Torrey has performed this season was in garbage time. You're taking a big risk with him BUT the reward could be insanely good.

D : Ten v Mia

Miami sucks. I would take a High School defense against them

I tried to drop Hillman, but lost on waivers on my attempt to get West. I even lost for trying to get Mathews ... which shows you just how slim the pickings are.

The only options are guys like DeAngelo Williams or even a guy like Javorius Allen, who you can stash in the event that the guy in front of them gets hit by a bus ... or pick up a guy like Riddick, who has almost no real upside, but will likely always get you a few points because he is more of a slot receiver than RB (in a 1/2 PPR league).

I do reach the point where I think maybe dropping any one of Hillman or even Abdullah to get one of them could be worthwhile ... I just am getting the sense that there is no hope for them.

I'm thinking of dropping one of my WR's (Jordan Matthews) for another but I can't decide between Allen Hurns and Travis Benjamin. My current WR list is: Emmanuel Sanders, Jeremy Maclin, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith Sr. and Jordan Matthews.

So Snead is a guy I have a soft spot for drafting him as an udfa in the offseason game here. He was in I believe for 70% of the saints snaps last week. And he's been making the most of his targets and increasing his role. Colstonis out in an expected high scoring game.

Calvin. The bad bears D could be enough for him to pay dividends here. Their D is God aweful. Calvins price is down so I'll take a bit of a risk. His ownership will be down and that's what you need to win a tournament. Hit on low ownership guys. On head to head or 50/50 I woukdnt use him. Other options I like are Fitz and John brown vs pit.

Torrey. I know he's boom or bust. So far I've only played him vs pit and he hit in that game. Ravens pass defense is bad. I think Torrey will show up and play his best game against his former team. Kap will try to feed him the ball. And smith has actually had most of his best games in big spots. @pit @ne.... He knows this team and these dbs well.

I came into this week with 5 RBs on my team, but also really bad luck.

Ingram: started, did fairly well

Forsett: probably out

Karlos Williams: definitely out

Gurley: Bye week

Dion Lewis: Questionable.

I may just go grab the backup RB that's taking over for Jamaal Charles in KC. Or might take give Allen a shot, since he is the type of RB Trestman likes.

I'd start Allen if forrsett sits. I have same situation. Better situation. Than kc by far. And matchup.

Odell Beckham Jr., Demaryius Thomas, Steve Smith Sr., Dion Lewis, Carlos Hyde and Matt Jones are all 50/50. Might take an L with all these Qs.

First time on DraftKings and I had Carson Palmer, Chris Ivory, Arian Foster, DeAndre Hopkins, Allen Robinson, Steve Smith and Gary Barnridge as my main group. Would've won $750 if I wasn't hesitant enough not to bet more. Tough night.

Nice. If you had Stafford and Miami you could have won the 100000 pot.

I only won $3. It's so disappointing. It was a Sunday league too. Otherwise, I would've went with Devonta Freeman.

Yeah the big tournaments are tough. One or two changes are the difference from $3 and $3000. 50/50 and head to head are a better bet to win but obviously lower prize.
