The Start 'Em/Sit 'Em thread is up, but I felt like we should have a general thread for discussions, trade advice, expressing disappointment/praise, etc.

What do you fellas think is the future value of Dion Lewis? Is he somebody who could sustain being a viable Flex option for the rest of the season, or do you trade him while he's hot?

He definitely could sustain his value as a good flex option for the season and depending how deep your bench is he could also be tradeable.  Who do you have on the bench?

Lewis could sustain value for the rest of the season. Pats running backs are historically somewhat of a headache to rely on week to week, but you most likely didn't draft Lewis and picked him up on the waivers. I don't believe he will continue to be a top 10 back throughout the remainder of the season, as the Pats will eventually go into ground-and-pound mode when it gets colder/closer to playoffs to save Brady's arm. In the meantime, however, I think it's fairly safe to keep riding a role player in such a potent offense. The Pats are airing it out right now, so Lewis should get 12-15 touches per week (8-10 carries, 4-6 catches). Once they get up in the second half, however, Blount will be on the field more than him. It's a time to sell high, or to hold onto a nice flex option for the upcoming weeks.

I think Dion Lewis has a lot of value still since it seems like Tom Brady is pretty comfortable checking down to him on short passes when teams double up Gronk. He's good since he's the one other teams can't really account for in the passing game, and the Pats will take advantage of that.

I agree with the general sentiment as well. It looks like they'll continue to use his as a WR in empty sets and I do agree that Blount will likely come in at the tail end of blow outs. Will just have to hope that their games will be closer. I wonder who are the best buy-low candidates at this point who could turn it around. Marshawn Lynch comes to mind.

My bench is solid I feel. My bench includes Dion Lewis, Drew Brees, Tony Romo, Alfred Morris, Karlos Williams, Terrence Williams, Tyler Eifert and Breshad Perriman. My league has two extra flex spots which are occupied by Steve Smith Sr. and Keenan Allen.

On a standard team is it wise to have 5 RB's and 5 WR's? I'm wondering whether it'd better to drop one in place of a back up DEF or TE. My DEF at the moment is the Colts and they've not looked great apart from in week 3. The top defenses on FA are the Panthers, Rams, Vikings and the Bills.

One last thing, would it be a good move to drop Tevin Coleman for Karlos Williams?

I'd just drop the Colts defense for a defense with a good matchup this week.

I would pick up Williams immediately, but maybe not drop Coleman. Who else could you drop?

TJ Yeldon or Melvin Gordon. Eddie Lacy and Mark Ingram are my other RB's.

That's tough. My personal thoughts: McCoy has been hampered by his hamstring since before the regular season began. Williams has scored in every game, and that's with little-to-decent volume. McCoy is most likely out this week, meaning Williams will get a full workload. Bills love to the run the ball. If McCoy continues to be hampered throughout the rest of the year, Williams will be a viable starting option in fantasy. You gotta hold onto Lacy, Ingram, and Gordon. I would potentially cut Yeldon or Coleman, or try to open up a roster space via trade, to get Williams. If anything happens to McCoy long term you have a rb1 in Williams.

I would drop the Colts defense and would strongly recommend picking Williams and dropping Coleman.

Of course when I choose to sit Forsett thinking that it might be a little longer before the Ravens' sort out their running issues he goes off and has a 150 yard game. As much as I love the Ravens, they can be a pain in fantasy leagues.

I know how you feel. In one of my teams I have SSS, I didn't play him last week but he racks up the points. I decided to start him this week and he gets me next to nothing after getting injured.

Tucker at least picked me up a fair few points at least.

I started Flacco/Smith in some tournaments this week. If smith didn't go down I still think the games entirely different and they would have put up the points. Oh well.

I just traded away Terrence Williams and Tyler Eifert for Jeremy Maclin. I have Travis Kelce and Jordan Reed is on the waiver wire. Not a fan of having a WR and TE from the same team but I felt like Williams will lose his value soon, and as much as I love Eifert, it was tough to start him over Kelce. Good move or bad move?

I like it. I think Maclin is quite underrated this year. I wouldn't want to count on Williams.

Thank you. It's a relief to hear. Agreed on Williams, especially since Dez Bryant could be back earlier than expected. Both were rotting on my bench and I feel that I can start Maclin at times. Just hope that his increase in targets wasn't solely because they fell behind these last few weeks.

12 team PPR, I swapped Dez Bryant and Carlos Hyde for DeAndre Hopkins and Gio Bernard. This team now has Roethlisberger at QB (Carr/Alex Smith in the meantime) with Julio, Hopkins, Jordan Matthews, Mike Wallace, and Martatvis Bryant at WR. At RB I have Gio and Freeman with Woodhead and Mathews on the bench. Kelce and Gillmore at TE. Watt, Mosley, Marshall, and Weddle as IDPs.

What do you guys think about Freeman? I think he is a legit #1 in that offense. He's a threat out of the backfield and is a great fit for Shanahan's ZBS.

Freeman is a tough one. Coleman was looking better IMO when they were both playing together. But regardless I think Freeman id the pass catcher. The problem is there are no reliable rbs this year. I'm not sure even if you tried to sell him now you could improve at the position.

What do you guys think about Ameer Abdulah? Try to buy him now or is he and Detroit a lost cause this year.

I think Freeman has looked far better once he took over. Now I know Coleman will be involved once he gets heathy, but I think it will be more of a 70/30 than 50/50 split

I'm number three on the waiver wire, so hopefully if I cash in here I can work my way back up to target the players who have a good matchup in the final weeks.

So the big question: what's everyone's thoughts on West v Davis in the Chiefs backfield? Sounds like West will get the most touches, with Davis a good goalline threat

Definitely West in my eyes. I've actually just put in a claim for him myself.

Yeah, I put a claim in for West straight after I saw Charles had gone down. Problem is that at #3 I suspect I'm two places too low to land him so I'm tempted to put in a backup claim for Davis anyway.

I've always been a fan of putting in a back up claim, but I am worried about what kind of role Davis will have. De'Anthony Thomas should see more playing time on obvious passing downs. I thought West looked solid in the preseason and he's more than doubled Davis' touches through these last two games. He'd still be worth a flier as a back up option to West, but what kinds of options do you have otherwise on the wire?

Not much to write home about tbh. DeAngelo Williams, Khiry Robinson, Shane Vereen, Buck Allen, Tevin Coleman. I've already got Frank Gore, Devonta Freeman, Alfred Blue, Antonio Andrews and Joique Bell, so it's not a flashy group but it's passable (take out Freeman and Andrews and that's what I got landed with after the draft, gotta love autodrafted sides) so I don't feel like I have to go fishing on the waiver wire just for the sake of it.

Is this a PPR league? Or even a .5? If so, I'd easily snatch up Shane Vereen, especially since both of the Giants top WRs are dealing with injuries. I wish I could've snatched up Freeman. I put in a claim for him right as the game begun and he went off against the Cowboys. Sadly I was beaten out on waivers.
