Nope, it was me breaking out the Ravens flannel pants for the game.

My Irish Ravens shirt didn't do the trick last week so today I  went without any  Ravens gear .

Well  except for my black and white hat,  but I bought that hat right before the win over Denver , so it always goes on during games.

Or could be a combination of superstitious acts by committee!

Great contributions all around... It was a great performance by the entire board. Team win.

Yeah, they were two stupid turnovers by Flacco. And I am still scratching my head when I see some of these plays Trestman calls. But I was pretty amused when Forsett ran on first down and lost a yard. My first thought was ( )it, why aren't we running playaction plays in these situations, and the next first down they ran a playaction play and got 11yds.

It goes both ways though, I'm sure you weren't complaining on the 1st down runs that Forsett picked up like 30 yds on one, 20 on another, like two that he picked up around 10 yds and then several in a row that he got between 4-8 yds.

Yes, with that success you should take advantage of play action once in a while...

But there's also the thinking that you keep doing it until they can stop it consistently.

I fell asleep at HT so I watched the second half this morning. What. A. Game!!! It feels so good to finally get our first win of the season. The defense was on point.

I can't believe they actually traded anything for that kicker of theirs, I wouldn't swap a Mars bar for him.

I like him a lot. It seems unlikely, but I really hope they keep him around.

Yes, in the run game they did. Let me guess... You think Flacco single handedly won the game?

No but Forsett didn't either

Forsett and the line won that game. Only reason we were even in it. Well, of course Tomlin and Scobee helped as well.

Uh the same line that allowed Flacco to be sacked 5 times? I mean they did good in run blocking but that pass blocking needs to be better.

Yes, that same line. Never said they performed well in protecting Flacco. But, if not for the run game, we're 0-4.

Well you did say Forsett and the line were the reason we won the game so just wanted to clarify that it was only the line half the time.

Line looked worse due to many coverage sacks. Flacco held the ball since apparently no one can get open. So the 5 sack performance wasnt all the lines fault. All in all, they played a B- sorta game.

Never got a chance to do a post mortem on the game.

1st and foremost, they erased a terrible first half, a 20-7 deficit IN Pittsburgh without SS.

Offense- Huge relief to see the run game look dominant. The offense is going to have to simplify, pound the ball and take shots off of play action moving forward.

It's obvious that this WR group without Smith isn't going to get the job done.

Also, PRAY that Eugene Monroe returns soon. James Hurst is god awful.

Defense - The Steelers scored their points mainly on turnovers, they held Bell relatively in check until the 4th quarter where he picked up some yards.

Main thing is that they finally held up with the game on the line which should be a huge confidence boost moving forward.

Coaching- Harbaugh coached to win it, I didn't like the fake FG, but there was plenty of time left and the defense really didn't allow any particularly long scoring drives.

Trestman has to dial back the offense, teams just blitz when we try to go empty, receivers don't get that quick separation to take advantage.

Moving forward, they have to run the ball and control the clock. Take your shots when they are there. That method got us to the playoffs Joe's first two seasons.

Pees- Called it pretty safe, the defense mainly gave up points after offensive mistakes.

Overall, as I said. They in a sense saved the season with that win. Losing Smith and Campanaro hurts tremendously though, and I'm interested to see what they do as far as game planning going forward.

Also in the game thread, I remember saying "Scobee is their kicker, we got this" in the first quarter I think. Lol.
