[News] What You Missed vs. Bengals

48 posts in this topic

I like what we did in the 2nd half on offense. However, we need to continue to be aggressive right from the start this Thurs. night in Pitt. If we start ultra-conservatively once again, I bet Pitt. will take the win. They're too talented at WR and RB to give them a quarter or 2 head start. I thought Flacco had a great 2nd half and it's up to Trestman to unleash him early and throughout the game with a deep ball (15 - 20 yards or more) every couple series. Running prob. won't work. The Steelers know that Cincy. stacked the box to ensure we'd have no success running. And with our depleted receiving corps. they did the right thing. Why would anyone let us run freely, when we are not a big threat to pass, save SSS.

It's embarrassing that our opponents obviously seem to have no respect for our running game, our passing game and our defense as well. It wasn't that long ago that we demanded the utmost respect from pretty much every team in the league, even the all powerful Cheatriots. As recently as last year I remember hearing Belicheater giving props to us. No more, I'm afraid. I believe that we've become a team that our opponents look at as a weak spot on their schedule, a team they look forward to playing. How quickly things change. I wonder if we can right the ship and get things back to the way it used to be as quickly as we lost their respect. It's pretty sad when the Raiders give other teams the blue print on how to beat us. I've always been a Huge Flacco fan. I've always brought up the fact that there are So many teams that would gladly trade their QBs for him. But, to be honest, right now Derek Carr looks pretty darn good, don't you think? And yet, I Still place so much of the blame on our Offensive and Defensive Coordinators, and our FO. I honestly think that that's where most of the blame lies, not nearly as much as on the players, although they definitely have to share some of the blame, of course.

Organization overvalued Aiken,Brown.. Enough. Babin better play Thursday. He should a been playing 2weeks now, this team desperately needs PASS RUSH! No excuses about how complex the defense is to learn, for why hes not playing. Its not rocket science..to rush the QB! Babin does that great with a motor... Let him play. We win atleast one of the first 3 if Babin played. Pass Rush makes secondary a lot better.

NOW or NEVER! Everybody must GO!!! Perriman lets go...as a Decoy, or limited packages lets go... Boyle,Maxx, Campanaro... USE Every offensive weapon available...

NO Excuses.

Let JOE Light it UP!! Work in the run... But dont wait til the second half and being down 2TDs to go no huddle uptempo..

NO EXCUSES! Lets GO

Love it when B.Williams bulls his way into the back field and messes up the offense's plays. Notice how Bengals had 4 man rushing and covered the short/middle passing lanes and protect the top very well, making it difficult for Joe to decide where to throw, that is where coaches have to readjust and find open seams to throw, no matter how small. I hope to see the back 4 of the Ravens defense keeping it simple more often and let the linebackers do the fancy blitzes. It keeps opposing QBs from changing plays at line of scrimmage when they see safeties out of place trying to be fancy.

Its easy for us to say where Flacco should have thrown it looking from an birds eye view. How about you put yourself in Flacco's shoes, with 270lb guys chasing after you in the final play, and see how you would react in the same situation.

Yesterday is gone, now let's focus on Thursday night's game against Pittsburgh. D-coach: bring safety blitzes, alternate LB blitzes, must touch Vick and trap down running backs. O-coach: button hook routes (receivers must keep moving towards the QB and the football). Bring a two-back backfield with one back shooting out to the flats after pressure. Plenty of down field throws, but set it up. Try a reverse, or flea-flicker, or anything that is unexpected. Lastly, get the football, sustain drives, take only what the Pittsburgh's defense will give you. Finish all runs and passes, and catch first before running with the football. Ravens will win this gut check game!

Bears are having a fire sale, why not try to get Alshon Jeffrey WR beast, for a 4th rounder or later. Or see if you could snatch up on of their Pass Rushers... Willie Young DT Hes more on a 4-3 pure pass rush Suh,Sapp type DT.. But Ravens could use a piece like him right now next to B.Williams and Jernigan. Trade a 5th -7th

None of us are NFL QB's getting paid MILLIONS of dollars to play a freaking game. That's not even close to a valid argument.

Flacco blew 3 game winning drives in a row.

Absolutely. He committed the penalty that called back the first down and he dropped the pass to Williams.

Flacco got his money. He's slowly sinking down the list of QB's in the NFL. Not even in the top 20 now. He could have run/walked for plenty of yardage, but chose not to. What a joke. If he even gave 10% of the effort of SSS and Williams, we'd have a chance.

Given Flacco's position and the direction he was running, there is no way he could have completed a pass to Marlon Brown. Sure interception. Get real.

Alshon is injured now, I believe. Not sure about his status. However, you'd need a good QB to throw him the ball and we let Taylor walk. Flacco is a joke, along w/the playcalling and overall effort of this club. At least they should get a decent draft position after this season. There's always that bright spot.

How about you get real and consider Flacco actually runs? He's such a wimp.

I may be alone on this but, yes while the offense has had slow starts every game so far, I think the biggest reason for our problems is the defense right now. We cannot keep opposing offenses from scoring, something that was been a staple of this defense. The offense is doing its job, Joe and company have gained more yards over the first 3 games (these last two are the big ones)then we have in recent history. two back to back 350 games for Joe. Us normally being a run style team, 350 has been considered a great game for this offense throwing the ball. The defense needs to step it up. We have talent on defense to not miss a beat. Suggs was a hit, but there is no reason dumervil and Upshaw cannot put on the pressure. I think it might be time for a new D Coordinator. We have always rehired from inside when replacing the position and weve gotten to the point of not having a great coordinator on the defense. Its time to go find us a defense guy!

Glad to hear Marlon Brown is open and asking for the ball. As long as he does that consistently, that will help a lot.

Will the play with Yanda lining outside keep working? Teams will get ready for it if they see it often.

The Broncos game. SSS dropped the TD pass, and Gilmore had his hands on the ball. How is that on Joe? The Oakland game. The offense came back and got us the lead. With 2 minutes left, the Defense let Oakland drive the whole field and score a TD. He had 26 seconds and no Timeouts to score. That's on the Defense, not Joe. The Cincinnati game. Joe and the offense gave us two leads and the defense gave it right back. Osemele had the penalty that negated the first down and Joe took his only shot and Williams had his hands on it. Again, that's on the Defense not Joe. O-line penalties hurt us too. Joe and SSS are the only ones keeping us in games.

Doesn't help when he dropped two balls, so Flacco lost his trust by the end of the game. I don't blame Flacco for not throwing it to the other receivers he has no one to trust except Steve Smith Sr. and even he has made multiple mistakes at the end of games. Yes Flacco had like two bone headed throws at the end of the game, but that happens when trying to crawl back ahead in a game with little time left. I like him throwing the ball away and losing a down rather than an interception. Maxx Williams will be huge this Sunday for us to win. With Crockett Gillmore out and Williams being a solid pass catcher last game. Receivers need to gain Flacco's trust for him to throw it to them, too many drops and it is killing the team. Forsett not producing doesn't help the situation, Trestman needs to realize all our wide receivers are not 6'5 and we do not have Matt Forte in our back field to be doing what he did in Chicago. He needs to start leaning towards our strengths more.

Unfortunately Flaccco is the face of the franchise so when we lose they blame him. Sad but true he has been playing elite the last couple games. Last two games I believe he has eclipsed 350 yards and a couple touchdowns. At this rate the Ravens are looking like the Falcons of 2013. No defense, no Julio (Perriman being out who has almost the same speed and frame), and a quarterback playing at a high level producing great stats but it doesn't matter because they still can't win games.

I don't think you've watched a single game these last 8 years....

Bummed about no Gillmore this week. Let's hope Williams and Boyle seize their opportunities to make some dynamic plays. All TE's are going to play an important role going forward. Anyone heard how long Gillmore is projected to be out?
